Habe geweint als er zurück trat. Einer der Spieler wo ich innerlich gehofft habe, dieser Tag würde niemals kommen. Einer der Allergrößten, menschlich sowieso. Alles Gute Dirk.❤❤❤
Damn. I was so sure that he would give us one more year! Thank you Mister for everything you did! True Sportsman. I startet watching Basketball and the NBA because of you. Danke Dirk! Damn, who is cutting onions again.
I knew it was gonna happen when I saw his last game against GSW and he was backpedaling and he took a funny step and his eyes looked like he almost hurt himself doing a generic move. I saw it in his eyes that he was like fuck this shit I'm out.
I've been to hundreds of Dirk games at the AAC and I just want to say I was there on time, for the intro EVERY Single Time! I'll cherish every time I heard the announcer yell Dirrrrrrrrrrk for the rest of my life! Was there last night for the last one ever! Thank you Dirk!!!!
What a guy and what an alien on the court, one of the best ever and probably the best of his generation in his position. Deadly shot from any distance. Enjoy retirement you true legend!
Humble isn't even a strong enough word for Dirk. You never heard negative publicity about him, he constantly would take huge pay cuts just to benefit the rest of the team. Such an awesome player and man. He is a true role model to what future players should want to be unlike Bron. 21 seasons with the same team. No other player has spent longer with one team. First ballot hall of famer.
41.21.1 thank you dirk! Wish could of attended 1 live game. Thank you for the championship and everything youve brought to dallas since first arriving. Glad Bucks didnt keep u that draft year.
I became a Mavericks fan in early 2003. When I was 13 years old. To see that Dirk is one of the few players in NBA history to play for one organization for over 20 years is amazing.
It's hard to say goodbye Dirk for all Dallas (and NBA) fans. But the franchise is in good hands with Doncic, Porzingis and other guys that made a big step up this season (Brunson, Powell, Kleber...).
as a spurs fan, dirk has been my favorite rival. such class. such heart. hope we can give you a great send off tonight. he was such a huge part of my childhood. edit: i legitimately just teared up explaining to my mom what he meant to the game and how much i admired the way he conducted himself throughout his career. dammit i didn't think i'd get emotional over a rival. i promise you there was none of this from me when kobe retired lol
Thank you Dirk for all these amazing years and all your sacrifices. You are the best. You will be missed.I cried the minute I heard you were leaving and cried even more when I saw ur video lol I had started watching you when I was 10 years old, I'm 29 now. I have always been a fan and will always be. MAVS for life #41
For all those people who think he was forced to retire by fans and media: A “farewell tour” was never done by any player until recently and honestly I am not a big fan of players having them. How do you think players like Tim Duncan and other greats announced their retirements? It has always been normal to announce it at the end of the season and you really think that dirk with such class would want one. That being said I’m gonna miss you dirk thanks for everything through the ups and downs!
I feel like everyone forced him into retirement. He never said anything about it and the comissioner even gave him a special all star appearance. I feel like he just went with it and said why not.
It will be even harder for him, after he sees all the comments and posts on the web just about him. All the praises and the wishes. It still feels unreal to me, because Nowitziki is the name that comes to my mind first when I think of basketball. The first time(2002) when I watched basketball with my dad together there was like this one guy called Dirk Nowitziki, now playing in the NBA. And I was like a German in the NBA? He must be special to get there.

This dude is heavily overrated. He can shoot pretty good but the rest of his game was pretty much trash. He was playing in pain all season the, you could see it
He gave an interview over here in Germany a few months back, saying he does not think his foot will do it for one more season.
His knees and ankles are a mess, though. He can barely run. It’s just time.
Lollll. It was the end of his contract. Of course that's why the rumors started. How do you not see that
