@@darkmark3556 for guys with almost no equipment they are not bad but with good equipement and practice we have more talent here! im a 34 years experience welder in various welding environement like fuel tank, working for military to weld vehicules they have potential but my god help them too have decent equipment!

@@darkmark3556 well, many have different welding skills. We were not shown how their beads look or how they ran leak test or snything, but by failing many learn and no one is born knowing. I just pray for them to take care of themselves no shoes or gloves or weldimg helmets. I do really think they are working for them selfs, really alot different from the conditions we here in the US work under.

You know, before we had MIG and TIG welding. We used stick welding, I'm retired now but I used stick welding, most of the time. Because I did field repair service, we had to work around dirt, and sometimes windy conditions, stick welding was the best solution for the job. I am totally amazed, at the welders skills. I agree with one of the comments about these guy's not working with welding helmets, in my 35 years, I received several flash burns. If anybody out there has suffered a flash burn you know the pain it causes in your eyes. All you old-time welders out there share some comments with me thank you.

I did a fair bit of stick welding, and also hold a certificate btw.
19:50 Well, I've never done several hours of welding without a mask though. He has only sunglasses that don't protect the whole face and aren't suitable for welding at all. If he does like that he may very well get "sunburned" to a degree where he can peel off the skin at the end of the day.
However, out in the free stick welding is the only suitable option. Other welding techniques will at some point lose the protective gas shield and render the weld unusable. He has a very crooked electrode for my liking. It will tend to lose the layer that produces the protective gas and cause holes. Welding on slag is a NO go in any way. The correct way is to grind the start to a thin V shape and start welding from there. I don't think his welding will pass an X-ray or ultrasound scan.
I did not mention that a full face mask would prevent sunburn , good point. I worked for a large company, so safety equipment, was minatory. I looked like something from otter space. Leathers , respirator, and ear protection. Now I am retired, and healthy I thank them.
@@TOONMAN200 It's a very good company policy to look after one's employees and provide safety equipment.
I keep stressing to the apprentice to use the safety equipment. A lot of old welders/blacksmiths have tinnitus and bad lung capacity due to the smoke they inhaled. An auto-darkening mask also protects from debris when one occasionally has to grind here and there. Better safe than sorry. :)
They won't really get flash burns due to their natural skin pigmentation.

Going BLIND, but looking sytlish on the way.

You can walk through the plant, and pick out the experienced employees by their missing toes or feet. That is quite a work uniform. A long floppy night shirt over some pajama pants. Keep them away from any spinning or turning shafts, or open belts.

What about all the slag that fell into the tank, should of put the cap and welded before assembly and testing, with a test plug in the fill hole!
Probably the engines there are used to that crap running through stuck gas filters. But yes ... My thought... Scrap metal became scrap metal.
The other side of the building is his diesel injection pump repair depot. Almost nothing is worse than fine slag or sand on a pump.
Most pickup tubes are an inch or so off the bottom so you don’t pick up all the crap.

once the truck will suck the fuel it will instantly turn into scrap metal, providing more material for the operation, so it is a feature, not a bug.
I'm a portuguese born and 20 years ago i worked with those machines at a ventilation system factory in Portugal.
Then the factory closed doors (Corruption in Portugal, of course !) all employees were fired and the last time i heard about that Company Owners they moved on to Bangladesh to try open the factory there cause hand work is cheaper than in Portugal.
Too many people and they still making too many children !!

It's contact welding so not a big deal, try doing it with a Tig-welder.
I worked for a tier 1 automotive supplier and in the US fuel components are required to undergo a Ton of testing for safety. Where ever that is (Pakistan?) the possibly of dumping 1000 liters of fuel isn't a big deal I guess.

The thickness of the sheet metal there for a fairly large fuel tank does not impress me also. I'm guessing maybe .040 inch? (sorry metric folks) with no corrugation, or anything of that nature for strength and rigidity. I think if I was building it I would like to see about .100 for flat sheet steel.
@@johnstudd4245 Agreed. They are in that enclosure, but in a collision I expect those welds would split like a banana. An inner bladder would be a good idea.
I doubt its going to be for fuel, they seem to be building a storage/transport pod for a truck. some type of multi container unit, possibly cooking oils or chemicals , who knows, but that is not being slung from any truck

Experience does not equal excellence. It's rough as fuck but cheap as chips. You could probably buy 4 before you have spent as much as you would on a decent one.. obviously this tank will have only a very short lifespan, did I mention it's cheap though 😂
These guys built this with basic tools and something we call SKILL. No skills required to push a CNC machine button.
Always use your safety sandals and certified sunglasses as you weld. :)

The shear machine I worked on in the US in the late 1970's had much better hand guards than this one. Oh wait, this one has none at all!

На какой высоте Техника безопасности на данном производстве!!!! позволяет работать в шлепанцах, на босу ногу. Молодцы... Вот поэтому они и работают, что нет никаких надзорных организаций, которые стрегут деньги и производство становится невыгодным.
Что там шлепанцы...вы посмотрите на сварщика,это чудо варит в очках,в простых затемненных очках,а помощники даже не закрывают глаза,пользуються только рулеткой и молотком....а есть ещё щипцы,для удержания краёв метала в момент приваривания....

The old polaroid welding glasses. Wondered about the smaller section of tank at the end. Did it only get one hole made in it. Think it would airlock the fuel and that end will be useless once the hole is under the level of the fuel.

Experienced fabricators do not need to smash everything with a hammer a thousand times to try to keep it straight.
My Country's Great Hard Workers My Heartiest Best Wishes to them and their Work. Care for PPEs and Proper Work Station should be Planned they can Built what so ever is required with minimum resources. Thanks for the Video, they carried Pneumatic Soap Suds Test instead of Hydro Test this is cheaper as they have facility and urgent repair of Weld Joint.

ich habe schon so viele videos gesehen von diesen Handwerkern . diese haben wenigstens eine Schlagschere und eine Abkantbank . so wie wir es haben in Germany . das ist das Mindeste was eine Metall Werkstatt haben sollte an Ausrüstung nebst Schweißgerät und Winkelschleifer.👍👍👍👍❤❤

Large tank with 2 central baffles/supports that create 3 chambers with no flow holes into one of the outer chambers, which seems to have the fill opening. What am I missing?

Here in the US no way we would be allowed to work like that. The things that they make look of real high quality. The sad thing is they probably do not get paid very much and risking life in a limb for their work. Hats off to you very hard-working man.

When he welded that fancy plumbers nipple to install a cut-off valve starting at 23:50 and had junior rub soapy water all over after... It's all good though since he cut out that plumbers nipple for an even bigger gas cap hole that does not require leak testing since they already did it once.. To celebrate a job well done, they all went to a Stevie Wonder concert to see what the fuss was all about in a vehicle that did NOT use the gas tanks made there...cos they had to be at work next day... There was also that time where they toasted kebabs using those weld rods, but that's a story for another video and nobody saw that one coming..
Yes you missed it, watch again, they added pressure and put soapy water on the seams then re-welded the leaky areas.
