- "As always with expensive gear, we agonised for a while about a rating but, really, how can you say a handmade British-built Marshall for this sort of money is anything less than excellent value?"

Who else misses Mr. Casswell videos? Miss you Michael!!
Came across this vid whilst researching this amp. So sad that Michael isn’t with us anymore, what a great guitar player he was, always gave the kind of review that players wanted to see.
After a while I stopped caring what the amp was....... Such a fantastic guitarist demoing it!!!
GW should learn from this about how to make a review/demo.
Blows me away every time I watch Michael Casswell... Brilliant!
Michael's playing is amazing. Hard to pinpoint exactly why - there are plenty of players who can play fast who do nothing for me. But there's something about his playing.
+budgetguitarist.com It's his Beck-ness
+budgetguitarist.com it's his articulation
Yeah I agree. I remember one time I was watching a documentary about the making of Metallica's Black Album and Kirk was shredding away and the camera turned to Bob Rock. He then said to Kirk, "Now that you are warmed up let's talk about what we are doing here." Kirk was obviously baffled because he genuinely wanted to use that flurry of notes on the record. I'm with you, speed does nothing for me. Good guitar solos make me feel awesome, not like I am stuck in a futuristic video game.
This guy can play! Wow! Awesome overtones too. Love that.
Thank you for showing how this works and actually playing and staying on topic the whole time.
Michael you are truly among the greats !
Really great demonstration! It always makes a world of difference when somebody who really knows how to play is demonstrating an amp. Honest to God, I think companies like Marshall should sue some of the people who put up their videos demonstrating these amps. They aren't doing the companies any favors!
Again, really great!
Miss you Michael... ❤️❤️
I was really saddened to hear about Michael, such a great talent and from the way he comes across on his videos a great guy who never came across as big headed even though his talent on the guitar was exceptional,I love that guitar he's playing, really makes me fancy getting a strat type guitar with some Emg pickups.god bless you Michael.
I got one and I love it it's one of the best choices of a marshall today I have other Marshalls and I love them too but this baby just sings with no effects it's just perfect
RIP Mr.Casswell. I own the mini Joob and it’s brought me almost a full year of maybe the most tonally perfect time of my life. I now have a guy selling me this one for $1500 and I’m 95% sure I’m getting cause I’m pretty sure that twice the tubes and 5x the watts, will get me a ton more of the tone I already love!
Great player and amp! I did think for a moment near the start you were going to go into "White Cliffs of Dover"!! Lol
Very tasty playing at the beginning :)
Great player - awesome demo - very soulful sounding Marshall LOL! :)
Simply amazing!! Saw some say you can't use a strat with this amp that it's too bright, please listen to this!! think he knows how to EQ this amp!
The 2555 was changed three times in 1987, and was continued into 1988, but it was only available in black and gold.
The black and gold are now the more rare version of the 2555 today.
The 2555x was modeled after the later 1987 with some "improvements".
He has a very unique style of playing and you have to really listen to him to get an idea of his influences,I can hear some Jeff beck type stuff in there and maybe Knopfler EVH Vai ect but his playing to my ear is phenamonal.
Whenever i see michael caswell name on the video title i will just click the video directly only to see him play, not really care with the product :p
Wonderful player
Finally a good test! Strato sounds, good lead guitarist, i can listen every type of sounds of this amp! Tipical test: nasty sound, nasty miked, nerdy guitarist with les paul that play only chords, punk style, not professional!!!! OH MY GOD FINALLY A GOOD TEST! IN EVERY NUANCES
What did he play at the beginning???
Dang! Mike made that whammy bar his bitch. Outstanding!!!!!
Hi! Is there a difference in sound between Marshall 2551 silver and 1960 vintage cabs?
I believe the 2551 cab has v30 speakers instead the greenbacks of 1960 so it's a brighter cab with more high mids.
What is your EMG 81 or 85?
it's great! i have it
Amazing skills! EMG pickups right?
Gridy Morie yes sir. Emg there
best demo on the net ...
I just came here for the playing. This guy could play through a potato and it would sound amazing.
Didn't think they cleaned up so well
What an amazing player, he plays like if Jeff Beck had a kid with Paul Gilbert.
i own the 2551B cab, with a laney GH100R making the speakers move. the cab is the best i've used so far. only downside are the crappy wheels, as on every marshall cab, they're not really road worthy.
Did someone know the model of this guitar ?
+Ted demoniaque I think it's a Valley Arts guitar.
It's a Valley Arts Custom Pro.
Ed sheeran's teacher
I prefer the (vertical inputs) JCM 800 to this amp's built-in distortion pedals. However, this is an excellent demonstration: yes, I am watching a review of an amp I do not like because I enjoy Mike's playing.
Dude u play much Jeff beck style
He's a great player, but I'm not impressed with that Marshall.Doesn't sound alive to me.
too much showing off. Not enough gear demo
Peter Salmon are you fr?
