There is one more thing that I think nobody mentioned: When Sidney is attacked, the killer gets hit on the forehead. The next day at school (12:49 on this video), Stu is looking at the mirror, clearly checking for the bruises .
You missed the bit where Ghostface is chasing Sidney up the stairs, and you can very faintly here Stu's voice saying "easy...easy", a subtle clue to the killer's identity early in the film.
That's just a fan theory. He doesn't actually say "easy, easy". He is just breathing heavy. I guarantee if Stu didn't say "easy" in the film, no one would think Ghostface was saying "easy, easy". People hear what they want to hear.
When Sidney gets the call from Ghostface whilst sleeping over at Tatum's, notice how Dewey doesn't emerge from his room until after the killer hangs up. Craven did this deliberately so that the audience might presume he was the one making the call.
At the fountain, I love that look Billy gives Stu when Stu says, “I didn’t kill anybody,” and Billy replies, “Nobody said you did.” Then he gives Stu a dark, piercing glare. It’s pretty scary. Wes directed Skeet to do this to make it look obvious that Billy was the killer, but Wes’s idea was to make it TOO obvious so the audience wouldn’t really believe it. Wes definitely got me there. I remember thinking no way, there’s a twist. Well, that WAS the twist!
I wanna know what Stu was doing in her closet while she slept. He would've just had to chill in their for hours, I hope he had crossword puzzles or something.
He actually wasn't in there atm, somehow only crept in at night, because Sid opened that closet up before going to sleep (and a cued music/sound effect as a red herring). But the floor creak was just amping up the red herring making the audience think that she's gonna open the closet and get a jump scare when...she doesn't. Its only when later at night he pops out the same closet because the audience thought it was safe. (:
I can honestly say as a 13 year old girl when Scream came out, it actually terrified me. It was more realistic than other horror movies. I couldn't stop visualizing someone in black boots climbing down from a vent in the roof. I also noticed the Freddy Krueger janitor thought it was a nice touch.
I was 13 when this came out too, and I only saw the first half of it (at a friends birthday/halloween party). I had never seen an actual horror movie before that and I was absolutely terrified of it lol. I left early, and remember running to the car, frantically looking around me to make sure ghostface wasn't coming after me lol. And I barely slept all night and by morning I was in a cold sweat. Sounds dramatic but as an innocent 13 year old, it made my mind race.

She resents her brother, a deputy, when randy questioned where Stu was the night of Casey Becker and Steven Orwitz death, Tatum immediately covered for him, saying he was with her. And the night Sidney was attacked, Sidney stayed at Tatums house. Neither Billy or Stu would know this unless it was planned

So many of the best and most iconic lines in movie’s are improvised by the actors, re: Matthew Lillard and the phone. In my opinion Matthew is a MAJORLY underrated actor and I love an actor that can take the piss out of themselves. For example, check out his May 14th tweet about “Being Cool”. So funny!

I dunno that many people missed it, but I always like to call out Sydney running upstairs instead of out the door after having just criticized girls in slasher movies for doing just that.
The Sidney character also knew she could actually have a chance to lock Ghostface out of her room because of the closet door being able to keep her bedroom door from opening.
Jamie Kennedy was a nobody until this movie came out. He was a nobody to the degree that the studio did not want to cast him in the role. The only reason he got it was Craven's gut that he was perfect, and threatening to walk from the film of he can't get his cast
In the garage kill scene, Ghostface is hit in the nuts by Tatum throwing a beer bottle. In the next scene, Billy gives Stu a "nut tap" at the front door implying that they know what happened with Tatum.
In the scene where Tatum is heading to the garage before her murder, the song Drop Dead Gorgeous by Republica plays. Some of the lyrics go: "I know my ex-boyfriend lies , oh, he does it every time, it's just his permanent disguise, yeah yeah, but he's drop dead gorgeous." I always thought that was such cool foreshadowing.
My favorite is when they are at the school and Stu is basically giving himself away while Billy tries to get him to shut up. It’s played off as Stu is just being a creep, but he is actually being honest there. He even said “There’s always a reason to kill your girlfriend” after having killed his ex girlfriend and her new boyfriend, and not long before he kills his current girlfriend who happened to be right there when he said that.

Things you somehow missed in this video: 8:46 the narrator refers to "Stu's attic" then proceeds to refer to it as Billy's attic from that point forward.
A small one that I caught was when they are at Stu's house watching Halloween. During a killing scene if you watch Stu he flares his nostrils, makes a fist and his eyes get big as if he is excited about the kill. Then he looks around at the people sitting around him and changes his body language as if he is concerned about someone noticing how he was acting. It's right before Randy goes over the rules to surviving a horror movie.

It’s Stus house. When Sidney runs through the attic to the attic window you will see 2 dolls being hung. Its to indicate Stu as one of the killers. It’s very quick and can you can see them better if you put the movie on pause.

You guys missed the other Halloween reference. When Sidney is trying to radio for police help in Dewey's car she's attacked from the backseat similarly to Annie's death in the original.
They wanted her to be a tomb boy and wear overalls. But that would eliminate the foil to Sidney who is more modest and honestly dresses like a cute soccer mom.
A lot of good ones in there. One of my favs is at the end when Sid jabs Billy with the umbrella, the second strike missed the pad under his shirt and hit him for real. They left the take in the film & you can definitely tell the difference in his reaction!

That really sucks when a town or group objects to allowing a movie to shoot. I was only five when it happened but the 1988 remake of The Blob was actually filmed mostly in my hometown. They even used the fire trucks that the town had, my stepfather was a firefighter at the time and he got to bring home actual movie props as a thank you from the film company. My sisters and my mother and I all have pieces of the frozen Blob.

No one really comments on the fact that the entire time Billy is looking for Sydney that the Chase music from John Carpenter's Halloween is playing in the background implying that Billy is trying to hunt down Sidney as Michael is doing Laurie in the movie. it's also funny to point out that as Michael Myers is breaking into the closet to try and kill Lori but in Scream if you exact opposite Sydney dressed as the killer breaks out of the closet to attack her victim/aggressor.

when i was rewatching it i noticed in the ending when stu and randy are begging sidney to get into the house, stu says “he killed billy” but how would he know that? everyone was out of the house and randy was drunk on the couch sidney was the only one who saw it so that was a hint to
I always thought it was so weird that Sidney doesn't believe Randy here. Since she had just watched him from the van with Kenny, calling out for randy to turn around because the killer was behind him !!
A big detail that so many people missed was that the movie gave away that more than one person was involved in the killings. Someone closed and locked the garage door just after Tatum went in there effectively locking her in with the killer. At that moment, I was like, 'Oh, there's more than one person involved. Now, I understand how they strung Drew's character up so fast!'
The opening kill also foreshadowed two people being the killers. We first see Ghostface running to open the front door. Then when Ghostface turns around to jump scare Casey, seconds before you can see he is talking to someone, thus why his back is turned to the window.
My GF and I rewatched Scream 1 the other day and I told her we have to pay attention to any easter eggs and references. I noticed quite a few from the list. I'm surprised you guys missed out on when Sidney said that probably Tori Spelling would play her if this ever becomes a movie. In Scream 2, Tori Spelling is playing her! LOL!
I just rewatched the first 4 movies ahead of the new one coming out and they've held up really well. Especially the 1st movie. The 5th one has a lot to live up to, but it's gonna be fun to watch in theaters.
You forgot an addition bit of info about Number 1: Plans to film the school scenes in Santa Rosa High School provoked a firestorm of controversy in Santa Rosa, as the nearby town of Petaluma had been the site of the Polly Klaas murder just three years prior, with the killer's trial slated to begin while Scream was in production. A fierce, three-hour town hall debate, scheduled for the day after filming was to begin, ended with the production being denied permission to film in the high school, forcing them to shoot the school scenes at the nearby Sonoma Community Center instead. Knowing that there would likely be delays due to the controversy, Craven began production by filming scenes at locations outside Santa Rosa. The credits to the film contain the "take that" in the credits towards the Santa Rosa school board as a result, though Craven later regretted putting it in once he came to realize just how touchy a subject it was in the town.
Tatum’s death is also very subtlely foreshadowed. When her, Sidney, and Stu are talking about having a party Stu has his arm around her waist and she does this dip/backbend move.

I reckon the last time I watched the movie I didn't know who Jamie Kennedy was as he was just starting out in movies. Similarly, it was the first time I heard "Wes Carpenter".

You missed in opening scene after Casey locks all the doors and escapes from the house her parents arrive home and the front door is open.. This is a hint that there's 2 killers in the movie because Casey locked that door from the inside and escaped out the kitchen.. So the only way that door could be open is because one of the killers who broke through the patio window came in and ran straight to that door to let the other killer in... Even Casey sees that killer Sprint past towards the front door
That must be why you can hear the "hey!" Just before casey is being dragged and the parents find the burning popcorn. Either Billy or stu saying hey to the other .. ?? Little hint that there is 2 killers. 😲
@@rachboudreau Well I imagine when Casey hits one of them through the window with the phone it knocks them out then seconds later the second killer pounced and kills Casey.. At this point the other killer comes to and panics realising the parents are home and escapes out the back..As the other killer is dragging Casey to the tree in a hurry because he noticed the parents are home too he shouts HEY to signal the other one to come over and help quick. Its such a beautifully directed movie I honestly can't fault it except 2 minor bits where we see ghostface in full constune stalking Tatum and Sid in the garden and in a supermarket.. Like I just cannot see why on earth they would do that considering they have police protection around them and their plan is to not get caught. If they was gonna do this at least don't wear the costume so if you get noticed you can say you was playing a prank on your girlfriend or something
Also the killer asks who was the killer in Friday the 13th, not halloween. How can you go so far to insult us by saying we missed quite obvious things, you get one of the most important facts horribly wrong. Ugh.
As a warmup question the killer asked who was the killer in Halloween he wore a white mask and liked to stalk babysitters and she correctly said Michael myers, but got the actual question wrong about Friday the 13th
This was actually a great list. I didn't know some of these things, even though it's my favorite franchise. But why should the dolls in the attic be a hint to Billy being the killer? It's Stu's house.
In the first scene between Sidney and Billy, shortly after Neil departs, just when Billy turns up the stereo volume, you can hear a struggle faintly outside of Sid's bedroom. This could be when Stu knocks out Mr Prescott.
I noticed some of these while watching the movie a few times over the years. Another clue that Billy and Stu are the killers happens during a conversation about Casey’s death that happens early in the film. Stu says something like I didn’t kill anybody. Billy replies No one said you did. They share a knowing look. I noticed this when I watched Scream recently.
Me too and when Tatum and Sydney were riding in the car the music in the background had lyrics that also foreshadowed that there was two killers and it was billy and Stu, The first one was “he”ll appear out of nowhere but he ain’t what he seems” then there was “you’re one microscopic cog in his catastrophic plan” then the last one is “designed and directed by his red right hand” which is hinting at Stu being the second killer.

When you mention the clues in the attic foreshadows that Billy has problem, it’s Stu’s house so that would more likely foreshadow Stu being a troubled kid and not Billy
Scream is my favorite movie of all time. So I knew all of these. Also, Craven didn't just wear an attire similar to Freddy Krueger's. He was actually wearing the attire worn by Robert Englund in A Nightmare on Elm St.
I'd LOVE to spend one of the nights over Halloween at Stu's house. It's being used as an Air Bn'B with a 'welcome note' by Dewey with him also being your virtual host. If you answer the phone when it rings, Ghostface taunts you. What a Halloween to remember that'd be. Plus I've loved that house and location since the first time I saw it😍. Btw..none of these have been missed by me😁. I saw it when it first came out at the movies (then walked home afterwards around 1am after streetlights had gone out...stoned and paranoid asf😆) and have owned the movie for many years.
One blink and you miss it scene I noticed: When Billy comes back to school after spending the night in jail. He bumps into Sydney and she is surprised to see him. "Someone attacked me last night" "It wasn't me, Sydney." "I know, I got a call from the killer last night." "You see?" Billy then looks over her at Stu, "It couldn't have been me, I was in jail." Hinting that Stu was the one chasing her through the house that night.
Skeet has a goatee in the movie poster because this was his look in As Good As It Gets during post Scream photography. I’m a bit surprised they didn’t edit it out! Fact 1 makes the opening scene even scarier. My heart stopped when I paused to see Steve’s outline. I’ve seen this movie a gazillion times and never noticed some of these. Thanks for the great video!

Matthew Lillard also improvised 2 more lines. Right after Billy hits stu with the phone stu picks it up, and original he was just supposed to say "did you really call the police." but he improved and followed it with the line "my mom and dad are going to be so mad at me." second line he improvised is in the scene he "dies" in. When he tackles Sydney he said "I've always had a thing for you sid".
you can also tell who kills who. stu always holds the knife above his head with both hands, and billy just holds it in his right hand and also liked to strangle his victims before stabbing them. (casey and then out of the costume when he tried to kill sidney). stu also says something about “slicing and dicing” at the water fountain the day after casey’s death, and if you pay attention to the murders, stu is more slicey and billy is more stabby yk? idk, that’s my theory.

Subtitles/CC is the greatest invention. Especially since some actors can't enunciate, actors don't realize it's difficult to hear you when you whisper and the frickin music is so loud it drowns out the speech!
Wes did say tht stu reaction to the phone hitting his head was good which is why he kept it like tht so no they didn’t reshoot the scene and tht was stu actual reaction to the phone hitting his head
Goatee are also symbolically a "villain look". I have always noted that Skeet has one on the poster but after watching the movie several times, it might be another hint Craven left to tell the audience that he's the baddie
I knew that billy and stu were the killers immediately because they were the only ones who knew how to gut someone and describe it in gruesome detail when they were talking about Casey’s death, they gave themselves away in the first 15 minutes of the movie
What is not mentioned is in referencing #1 End credits shade. The whole story is that the Santa Rosa high school was, for some reason, under the impression that Scream was a teen comedy. They ultimately pulled their permission to film when they found out that Scream was a horror movie because a year before, a student had been brutally murdered. I love Wes Craven but I'm with the school board on this one. It would have been in bad taste to film a teen slasher movie at a school where a student had recently been similarly murdered.
I dunno if I'm just imagining it, but in the scene where Sid, Billy, Tatum, Stu, and Randy are outside their school sitting around talking/eating... they're talking about Casey and Steve's murders and Randy is asking where Stu was last night etc, and Stu says "Nah I didn't kill anybody". Billy: "Nobody said you did" Stu: "Thanks buddy". Right after that, the look Billy gives Stu...like one of those "secret" or "meaningful" looks. Seeing it after you realize they're both the killers, is like an Aha moment lol.

I noticed something that wasn't on the list, when you get a glimpse of casey's house at the begining of the movie you see a swing and when her parents find her body it hangs fromb the ropes of that very same swing. And when ghostface is chasing Sydney up the stairs you hear stu say "Easy..easy"
I caught the "Don't Fear The Reaper" cover beforehand, as well as Linda Blair's appearance and the Halloween reference about going to the Mackenzie's....the phone ad-lib is great! I'm glad they left it in.
Another thing you can add in. After Tatum’s death, Stu is clearly flirting with the other girls at the party. Already out to replace her and probably murder yet another girlfriend eventually. I am pretty sure he even gropes one when they are leaving and says “sorry, I’m drunk.”
After tatum goes to get beer, she is killed and then Stu goes to get beer and Says his "I'll be right back" line. But then he's seen at the door after saying Tatum must have got mad and bailed on him ... when we know he must have seen her body if he went to get beer after she was killed getting beer !! Clue there. Lol
This popped onto my feed after we just watched the most recent scream. Great vid, but one thing that was a dead giveaway that there were two bad guys and Billy was connected was when he was stabbed in the bedroom. I remember going with a group of people to the theater when this came out. I noticed when Billy got stabbed numerous times, his tee shirt never ripped. So I said to my friends "he is connected "
There was something I was sure would come up on this list that didn’t. Has no one noticed how the slow motion shot of Drew Barrymore getting chased across the lawn by Ghostface right before being stabbed (one of the most iconic moments in the film, and a moment literally shown in this video) features a noticeably different Ghostface mask than the one used in every other scene in the franchise? It’s basic design is more or less the same, but it’s specific shape is distinctly different; it’s wider or chubbier looking and thus appearing less elongated. It basically looks like Ghostface had a binge week, thus distorting his features and puffing out those cheeks a bit. It’s something I’ve noticed every time I’ve seen the film from very first time back in 97, through to now, and it’s exactly the kind of thing this list would mention, and lo, there’s no mention of it. I’m starting to feel like I’m just losing it.🤔 Regardless, this was a fun video. I knew of most of them as I’ve seen the film many times, and love it, but I need to rewatch at least one more to check out the Halloween theme coming on in the background when the film is mentioned. I’ve never noticed that.
I just finished commenting this dude haha No you’re not crazy. I looked it up once and I don’t remember exactly who said it (Probably Wes), but it was explained that the shots were just edited together poorly and they just chose to ignore that. As we know about movies, there’s a lot of costumes involved. Even the same one repeated in the same scene will actually be wardrobe changes between cuts because behind the scenes, the outfits must be perfect. No scuffs, nothing. Ghostface’s black cloth outfit is always spotless right? There’s even a nod to this in Scream 3 where Sarah is trying to hide from Ghostface and hides in the room with dozens of Ghostface suits stowed away for use in the production of the stab movies. But yeah. That mistake at the beginning wasn’t really a mistake. It was just a flaw in the costume design and upon costume changes between shots, they changed him into a slightly different mask and just shrugged off that it was weirdly appearing to morph shape between cuts, stuck the shots together and called it a day.
@@RightWingCorrectWing oh yeah, of course they use many copies of the same mask throughout shooting, just as Indiana Jones had a load of the same leather jacket on set, for continuity reasons. I know that, but the point is the mask in that scene is clearly not an exact copy; it’s different. I imagine as it’s early in the filming they were still tweaking the design after getting a few early shots, and that’s the only pre-change shot that ended up in the movie. The weird thing is though, that mask was actually discovered in a loft in a location scout, so I wonder which design was the original one they found. I’m guessing it was the chubbier one. Both look cool so it’s not a big deal, but it’s even more noticeable in that shot for being one of the only (if not the only) shot in the film in slow motion.
Holy shit! The janitor was played by Wes Craven? During all these years, I only noticed that the janitor character was just a reference to the Freddy Krueger character because he's a janitor and because of his clothes. But didn't notice it was Wes!
Something I just thought about is that Tatum is the first person person to call ghostface ghostface and then she dies shortly after but he is called ghostface in all the sequels and in the Stab franchise within the movies. How likely is it that he is called the exact same thing Tatum names him before her death?
I didn’t think about this until recently that both Billy AND Stu killed Casey and Steve. Steve’s a tall buff football player. Neither Stu nor Billy could handle kidnapping and tying Steve up by themselves 😂
Like most are saying, mentioning Stu's attic being Billy's is a mistake of course. I didn't ever notice Fonzie's jacket hanging in his closet, that was a new one for me. I don't think its a mistake that you might be able to catch a glimpse of Casey's boyfriend already tied up outside because he would have actually already been tied up and out there, just some good eyes caught it. The one part of the movie I think needed a little something extra to it, was after Sidney is attacked in the school bathroom and escapes and runs out, she passes by a teacher and just runs down the stairs, like " Im in a hurry!" Lol. It needed to have a closure to that scene of her reporting it and he is gone and they find the mask or something, or nothing at all. And I know its a movie, so we are supposed to not think about it to seriously, but how did whichever Ghostface it was even know Sidney would be going into that bathroom? There were already two girls in there when he was in there when Sidney comes in. I know , over analyzing it, lol.
There is one more thing that I think nobody mentioned:
When Sidney is attacked, the killer gets hit on the forehead. The next day at school (12:49 on this video), Stu is looking at the mirror, clearly checking for the bruises .

At the fountain, I love that look Billy gives Stu when Stu says, “I didn’t kill anybody,” and Billy replies, “Nobody said you did.” Then he gives Stu a dark, piercing glare. It’s pretty scary. Wes directed Skeet to do this to make it look obvious that Billy was the killer, but Wes’s idea was to make it TOO obvious so the audience wouldn’t really believe it. Wes definitely got me there. I remember thinking no way, there’s a twist. Well, that WAS the twist!
I wanna know what Stu was doing in her closet while she slept. He would've just had to chill in their for hours, I hope he had crossword puzzles or something.
He actually wasn't in there atm, somehow only crept in at night, because Sid opened that closet up before going to sleep (and a cued music/sound effect as a red herring). But the floor creak was just amping up the red herring making the audience think that she's gonna open the closet and get a jump scare when...she doesn't. Its only when later at night he pops out the same closet because the audience thought it was safe. (:

I can honestly say as a 13 year old girl when Scream came out, it actually terrified me. It was more realistic than other horror movies. I couldn't stop visualizing someone in black boots climbing down from a vent in the roof. I also noticed the Freddy Krueger janitor thought it was a nice touch.

I was 13 when this came out too, and I only saw the first half of it (at a friends birthday/halloween party). I had never seen an actual horror movie before that and I was absolutely terrified of it lol. I left early, and remember running to the car, frantically looking around me to make sure ghostface wasn't coming after me lol. And I barely slept all night and by morning I was in a cold sweat. Sounds dramatic but as an innocent 13 year old, it made my mind race.

In the garage kill scene, Ghostface is hit in the nuts by Tatum throwing a beer bottle. In the next scene, Billy gives Stu a "nut tap" at the front door implying that they know what happened with Tatum.
In the scene where Tatum is heading to the garage before her murder, the song Drop Dead Gorgeous by Republica plays. Some of the lyrics go: "I know my ex-boyfriend lies
, oh, he does it every time, it's just his permanent disguise, yeah yeah, but he's drop dead gorgeous." I always thought that was such cool foreshadowing.
My favorite is when they are at the school and Stu is basically giving himself away while Billy tries to get him to shut up. It’s played off as Stu is just being a creep, but he is actually being honest there. He even said “There’s always a reason to kill your girlfriend” after having killed his ex girlfriend and her new boyfriend, and not long before he kills his current girlfriend who happened to be right there when he said that.
It’s been said in that scene it was actually Billy who killed Tatum. But I could be wrong!

A small one that I caught was when they are at Stu's house watching Halloween. During a killing scene if you watch Stu he flares his nostrils, makes a fist and his eyes get big as if he is excited about the kill. Then he looks around at the people sitting around him and changes his body language as if he is concerned about someone noticing how he was acting. It's right before Randy goes over the rules to surviving a horror movie.

My favorite scream fun fact was that Rose McCowan styled herself for her scenes because she thought the planned outfits weren’t working!
They wanted her to be a tomb boy and wear overalls. But that would eliminate the foil to Sidney who is more modest and honestly dresses like a cute soccer mom.

A lot of good ones in there. One of my favs is at the end when Sid jabs Billy with the umbrella, the second strike missed the pad under his shirt and hit him for real. They left the take in the film & you can definitely tell the difference in his reaction!

That really sucks when a town or group objects to allowing a movie to shoot. I was only five when it happened but the 1988 remake of The Blob was actually filmed mostly in my hometown. They even used the fire trucks that the town had, my stepfather was a firefighter at the time and he got to bring home actual movie props as a thank you from the film company. My sisters and my mother and I all have pieces of the frozen Blob.

No one really comments on the fact that the entire time Billy is looking for Sydney that the Chase music from John Carpenter's Halloween is playing in the background implying that Billy is trying to hunt down Sidney as Michael is doing Laurie in the movie. it's also funny to point out that as Michael Myers is breaking into the closet to try and kill Lori but in Scream if you exact opposite Sydney dressed as the killer breaks out of the closet to attack her victim/aggressor.

I always thought it was so weird that Sidney doesn't believe Randy here. Since she had just watched him from the van with Kenny, calling out for randy to turn around because the killer was behind him !!
A big detail that so many people missed was that the movie gave away that more than one person was involved in the killings. Someone closed and locked the garage door just after Tatum went in there effectively locking her in with the killer. At that moment, I was like, 'Oh, there's more than one person involved. Now, I understand how they strung Drew's character up so fast!'
The opening kill also foreshadowed two people being the killers. We first see Ghostface running to open the front door. Then when Ghostface turns around to jump scare Casey, seconds before you can see he is talking to someone, thus why his back is turned to the window.
My GF and I rewatched Scream 1 the other day and I told her we have to pay attention to any easter eggs and references. I noticed quite a few from the list. I'm surprised you guys missed out on when Sidney said that probably Tori Spelling would play her if this ever becomes a movie. In Scream 2, Tori Spelling is playing her! LOL!

I just rewatched the first 4 movies ahead of the new one coming out and they've held up really well. Especially the 1st movie. The 5th one has a lot to live up to, but it's gonna be fun to watch in theaters.

A fierce, three-hour town hall debate, scheduled for the day after filming was to begin, ended with the production being denied permission to film in the high school, forcing them to shoot the school scenes at the nearby Sonoma Community Center instead. Knowing that there would likely be delays due to the controversy, Craven began production by filming scenes at locations outside Santa Rosa. Tatum’s death is also very subtlely foreshadowed. When her, Sidney, and Stu are talking about having a party Stu has his arm around her waist and she does this dip/backbend move.

You missed in opening scene after Casey locks all the doors and escapes from the house her parents arrive home and the front door is open.. This is a hint that there's 2 killers in the movie because Casey locked that door from the inside and escaped out the kitchen.. So the only way that door could be open is because one of the killers who broke through the patio window came in and ran straight to that door to let the other killer in... Even Casey sees that killer Sprint past towards the front door

At this point the other killer comes to and panics realising the parents are home and escapes out the back..As the other killer is dragging Casey to the tree in a hurry because he noticed the parents are home too he shouts HEY to signal the other one to come over and help quick. Its such a beautifully directed movie I honestly can't fault it except 2 minor bits where we see ghostface in full constune stalking Tatum and Sid in the garden and in a supermarket.. Like I just cannot see why on earth they would do that considering they have police protection around them and their plan is to not get caught. If they was gonna do this at least don't wear the costume so if you get noticed you can say you was playing a prank on your girlfriend or something

In the first scene between Sidney and Billy, shortly after Neil departs, just when Billy turns up the stereo volume, you can hear a struggle faintly outside of Sid's bedroom. This could be when Stu knocks out Mr Prescott.

I noticed some of these while watching the movie a few times over the years. Another clue that Billy and Stu are the killers happens during a conversation about Casey’s death that happens early in the film. Stu says something like I didn’t kill anybody. Billy replies No one said you did. They share a knowing look. I noticed this when I watched Scream recently.
Me too and when Tatum and Sydney were riding in the car the music in the background had lyrics that also foreshadowed that there was two killers and it was billy and Stu, The first one was “he”ll appear out of nowhere but he ain’t what he seems” then there was “you’re one microscopic cog in his catastrophic plan” then the last one is “designed and directed by his red right hand” which is hinting at Stu being the second killer.
I loved that look. It’s pretty scary. I think Wes did that to make it look obvious that Billy was the killer, but Wes’s idea was to make it TOO obvious so the audience wouldn’t really believe it. Wes definitely got me there. I remember thinking no way, there’s a twist. Well, that WAS the twist!
The Mackenzie’s just seem like they can’t catch a break...

Scream is my favorite movie of all time. So I knew all of these. Also, Craven didn't just wear an attire similar to Freddy Krueger's. He was actually wearing the attire worn by Robert Englund in A Nightmare on Elm St.

If you answer the phone when it rings, Ghostface taunts you. What a Halloween to remember that'd be. Plus I've loved that house and location since the first time I saw it😍.
Btw..none of these have been missed by me😁. I saw it when it first came out at the movies (then walked home afterwards around 1am after streetlights had gone out...stoned and paranoid asf😆) and have owned the movie for many years.

One blink and you miss it scene I noticed: When Billy comes back to school after spending the night in jail. He bumps into Sydney and she is surprised to see him. "Someone attacked me last night"
"It wasn't me, Sydney."
"I know, I got a call from the killer last night."
"You see?" Billy then looks over her at Stu, "It couldn't have been me, I was in jail."
Hinting that Stu was the one chasing her through the house that night.

Matthew Lillard also improvised 2 more lines. Right after Billy hits stu with the phone stu picks it up, and original he was just supposed to say "did you really call the police." but he improved and followed it with the line "my mom and dad are going to be so mad at me." second line he improvised is in the scene he "dies" in. When he tackles Sydney he said "I've always had a thing for you sid".

He also really said "you hit me with the phone dick" for real when Skeet hit him with the phone (by accident).

you can also tell who kills who. stu always holds the knife above his head with both hands, and billy just holds it in his right hand and also liked to strangle his victims before stabbing them. (casey and then out of the costume when he tried to kill sidney). stu also says something about “slicing and dicing” at the water fountain the day after casey’s death, and if you pay attention to the murders, stu is more slicey and billy is more stabby yk? idk, that’s my theory.

She is wrong, not the jacket. Fonzies iconic jacket was actually brown.
Subtitles/CC is the greatest invention. Especially since some actors can't enunciate, actors don't realize it's difficult to hear you when you whisper and the frickin music is so loud it drowns out the speech!

Goatee are also symbolically a "villain look". I have always noted that Skeet has one on the poster but after watching the movie several times, it might be another hint Craven left to tell the audience that he's the baddie
I knew that billy and stu were the killers immediately because they were the only ones who knew how to gut someone and describe it in gruesome detail when they were talking about Casey’s death, they gave themselves away in the first 15 minutes of the movie
I noticed they both had black boots on. Randy's green shoes really make them stand out.
What is not mentioned is in referencing #1 End credits shade. The whole story is that the Santa Rosa high school was, for some reason, under the impression that Scream was a teen comedy. They ultimately pulled their permission to film when they found out that Scream was a horror movie because a year before, a student had been brutally murdered.
I love Wes Craven but I'm with the school board on this one. It would have been in bad taste to film a teen slasher movie at a school where a student had recently been similarly murdered.

Blown away never noticing the torture dolls in STU’s attic (ImSure it was a mistake mentioning Billy, it’s Stu’s house)
I dunno if I'm just imagining it, but in the scene where Sid, Billy, Tatum, Stu, and Randy are outside their school sitting around talking/eating... they're talking about Casey and Steve's murders and Randy is asking where Stu was last night etc, and Stu says "Nah I didn't kill anybody". Billy: "Nobody said you did" Stu: "Thanks buddy". Right after that, the look Billy gives Stu...like one of those "secret" or "meaningful" looks. Seeing it after you realize they're both the killers, is like an Aha moment lol.

I noticed something that wasn't on the list, when you get a glimpse of casey's house at the begining of the movie you see a swing and when her parents find her body it hangs fromb the ropes of that very same swing. And when ghostface is chasing Sydney up the stairs you hear stu say "Easy..easy"
I caught the "Don't Fear The Reaper" cover beforehand, as well as Linda Blair's appearance and the Halloween reference about going to the Mackenzie's....the phone ad-lib is great! I'm glad they left it in.
Another thing you can add in. After Tatum’s death, Stu is clearly flirting with the other girls at the party.
Already out to replace her and probably murder yet another girlfriend eventually. I am pretty sure he even gropes one when they are leaving and says “sorry, I’m drunk.”
After tatum goes to get beer, she is killed and then Stu goes to get beer and Says his "I'll be right back" line. But then he's seen at the door after saying Tatum must have got mad and bailed on him ... when we know he must have seen her body if he went to get beer after she was killed getting beer !! Clue there. Lol
This popped onto my feed after we just watched the most recent scream. Great vid, but one thing that was a dead giveaway that there were two bad guys and Billy was connected was when he was stabbed in the bedroom. I remember going with a group of people to the theater when this came out. I noticed when Billy got stabbed numerous times, his tee shirt never ripped. So I said to my friends "he is connected "

The creek that is slightly heard is one I've always noticed but never realized it's where Ghostface pops out later.
There was something I was sure would come up on this list that didn’t. Has no one noticed how the slow motion shot of Drew Barrymore getting chased across the lawn by Ghostface right before being stabbed (one of the most iconic moments in the film, and a moment literally shown in this video) features a noticeably different Ghostface mask than the one used in every other scene in the franchise? It’s basic design is more or less the same, but it’s specific shape is distinctly different; it’s wider or chubbier looking and thus appearing less elongated. It basically looks like Ghostface had a binge week, thus distorting his features and puffing out those cheeks a bit.
It’s something I’ve noticed every time I’ve seen the film from very first time back in 97, through to now, and it’s exactly the kind of thing this list would mention, and lo, there’s no mention of it. I’m starting to feel like I’m just losing it.🤔
Regardless, this was a fun video. I knew of most of them as I’ve seen the film many times, and love it, but I need to rewatch at least one more to check out the Halloween theme coming on in the background when the film is mentioned. I’ve never noticed that.
I just finished commenting this dude haha No you’re not crazy. I looked it up once and I don’t remember exactly who said it (Probably Wes), but it was explained that the shots were just edited together poorly and they just chose to ignore that.
As we know about movies, there’s a lot of costumes involved. Even the same one repeated in the same scene will actually be wardrobe changes between cuts because behind the scenes, the outfits must be perfect. No scuffs, nothing. Ghostface’s black cloth outfit is always spotless right? There’s even a nod to this in Scream 3 where Sarah is trying to hide from Ghostface and hides in the room with dozens of Ghostface suits stowed away for use in the production of the stab movies.
But yeah. That mistake at the beginning wasn’t really a mistake. It was just a flaw in the costume design and upon costume changes between shots, they changed him into a slightly different mask and just shrugged off that it was weirdly appearing to morph shape between cuts, stuck the shots together and called it a day.
@@RightWingCorrectWing oh yeah, of course they use many copies of the same mask throughout shooting, just as Indiana Jones had a load of the same leather jacket on set, for continuity reasons. I know that, but the point is the mask in that scene is clearly not an exact copy; it’s different.
I imagine as it’s early in the filming they were still tweaking the design after getting a few early shots, and that’s the only pre-change shot that ended up in the movie. The weird thing is though, that mask was actually discovered in a loft in a location scout, so I wonder which design was the original one they found. I’m guessing it was the chubbier one. Both look cool so it’s not a big deal, but it’s even more noticeable in that shot for being one of the only (if not the only) shot in the film in slow motion.
Holy shit! The janitor was played by Wes Craven? During all these years, I only noticed that the janitor character was just a reference to the Freddy Krueger character because he's a janitor and because of his clothes. But didn't notice it was Wes!
Also at the end with Gale Weathers news report scene it was at sundown, not sunrise due to where they were filming.

I didn't ever notice Fonzie's jacket hanging in his closet, that was a new one for me.
I don't think its a mistake that you might be able to catch a glimpse of Casey's boyfriend already tied up outside because he would have actually already been tied up and out there, just some good eyes caught it.
The one part of the movie I think needed a little something extra to it, was after Sidney is attacked in the school bathroom and escapes and runs out, she passes by a teacher and just runs down the stairs, like " Im in a hurry!" Lol.
It needed to have a closure to that scene of her reporting it and he is gone and they find the mask or something, or nothing at all. And I know its a movie, so we are supposed to not think about it to seriously, but how did whichever Ghostface it was even know Sidney would be going into that bathroom? There were already two girls in there when he was in there when Sidney comes in. I know , over analyzing it, lol.
