I reciently scored a 2010 Raptor 700R with 90hrs on it for $3000. I was pretty stoked. First time owning/riding a Raptor & I love it. Bike is a BEAST. Torque Monster!
LoL I just went through the same comparison but on 2024 models ... I had a 450 but recently sold it and now I'm stuck trying to decide on the 2024/25 450R vs 700R ... the 700 having reverse, being a bigger guy, doing more trail/hill/long distance rides vs tracks & motocross style jumping I'm leaning towards the 2024/25 raptor 700R this time around. If the 450 had or you could add a reverse gear I'd go back on that platform bc it's lighter, sits lower/wider, can throw it around easier, feels great going off small and large Gao jumps, whoops and tabletop jumps , sounds awesome with a akrapovic or Yoshimura exhaust ect and the new colorway on the SE model with the dark grey, orange and black looks really good. The brand new 700R raptor in the light blue to black fade and the SE also looks really good, sounds great with the exhaust done, the torque and power instantly is great, its great on trails, hill climbs, sandy environment, long rides going for 8 or more hrs the stance and sitting position on the raptor is great, has good top end speed as well, and being a bit bigger of a guy I'm really leaning toward the raptor 700r se platform this time around. My friend has a 2023 raptor 700 and let me hit a few jumps we have on our property, go around our track, try the hillclimbs and water crossings ect it felt really stable and the low end power ect was great. Yamaha really makes some super high quality reliable machines that are a blast. I wish they'd make a 550cc or a 625-650cc yfz model with a reverse gear then it'd be a easy no Brainer lol. Really appreciate these videos with people being honest comparing models ect. Both are such great machines and really capable.
Thanks! And I agree 100% with everything you said. There are a lot of techier trails here and the Raptor low end and suspension ate it up, but I always wished it liked to rev a little more and had the YFZ stability. Well said. Good luck!
Yup an now u need a 1000 scrambler an u got it all. Got my 2019 raptor slowly making into an yfz. Wider an lower. I just like my reverse. Idc about weight.i send it anyways.
Check out part 2 to see the riding comparison. ua-cam.com/video/D2Ktnazt9Q8/v-deo.html
Been waiting for this even tho I’m leaning to the raptor
Ew
If you want the faster option chose the yfz
@@mdisneudjd1811 more low end torque… wheelies

450 it's lower and wider you can drive much more aggressive and it gets out of the hole faster.
The dog pooped on the Raptor side so I’m going to make switch to the 700.
Haha. Actually she was peeing but hopefully that doesnt change your answer.
Does the raptor have a kick start ?
No kick start. Electric only.

yfz faster better stronger
Raptor will last longer, engine will be stronger, faster in the long run. Your whole comment is wrong
@@lostkiwiadventures8614nah our yfz will shit on your raptors sorry not sorry.
@@lostkiwiadventures8614Na, I know people with both. Yfz is faster and just as reliable. And it looks better and sounds better.
