That's what I would have originally guessed. I expected it to be much closer of a race. It would be interesting to see if he was power shifting, I forgot to ask.
Well here we go....I owned both a 2007 Raptor and a 2014 YFZ at the same time. The Raptor was always significantly faster. The Raptor is especially faster when racing uphill. The 450 guys are going to get mad in 3-2-1.... 💥

The raptor with the big 3 would walk down a yfz with the big 3 for sure but no way should you have gapped him like that. I think buddy was granny shifting 😂😂😂
Used too be that the Raptor 700 would get spanked by the YFZ, at least that's how it was back when I had a raptor. 2007 700R with a tuner and dual DMC exhaust. It was fast, but not YFZ450 fast. Then I sold it, and got a built raptor 660, that had a 727cc big bore kit, cams you name it... THAT thing was so powerful it was scary. It'd pull the wheels up in 4th gear accidentally. It was almost not fun too ride because you really couldn't get on it without feeling like you were gonna kill yourself.
Yeah, the 2015 and newer have so much more power than the older Raptors. Also I completely get it sometimes. I like being on a machine that you can just roll into the throttle and max it out without having to feather the throttle.

Both awesome machines but both serve a different purpose for what they were designed for. Yfz=track quad....raptor=everything quad. I own a raptor and it's rad but top heavy and tippy on balls out track type riding. Rode my buddy's yfz and it's a track monster. They are both on the top of the scale for what they are built for. In a straight line race the raptor will come out on top because of tourqe and gearing. Yet the yfz revs waaaaay higher with shorter gearing "for track riding". I love both quads but they are built differently for different reasons. 450 would kill it on the track and the 700 would own the trails.
Well based on the last few races I'd say the YFZ would blow the Banshee! Stock for stock on the payment it would be a really close race but stock versus a big three YFZ on dirt no comparison cuz the banshee cannot hook up.
On pavement, the banshee wins and it’s not close. A few mods and you can add 30 HP to a banshee. On pavement, they hook up. I can do 4th gear holeshots on mine....

I ride in several areas sometimes I'm in Ocala national Forest other times the Osceola national Forest and other times just good old country back roads in Florida
Experience definitely does Trump power in many ways however the distance that I gapped him I don't think would change the outcome if a more experienced rider was on it. But I could be wrong.

I wasn’t power shifting but the 450 tops way faster than a 700, my finger was at the very end of the throttle 🤣

I agree it may not be a fair race however so many people out there claim that the 450 is faster so this was just to disprove that theory.

What bend are the bars on the 700?
They are the Renthal YFZ 450 bars and I was able to make the clearance for them on the gas tank by adding shims on the triple clamp.
