What a surprise! I hope you like the wallet/planner combo. It definitely has its advantages. I love the simplicity of it and the way you use your Weeks.
+TheSassyPineapple Thanks so much! It was just as much of a surprise to me lol! I never thought I would do it, but I'm really enjoying it! I think your Weeks setup was an inspiration in that respect :)
You trick me into getting Weeks!!! Oh, and I found a great weeks alternative, and made a video about it, it will be up this weekend! I love your setup! I basically used my filofax the same way - I used my daily left side for things to do outside my home, which included my appointments, and the right column for things to do inside my home. It worked great. For the color coding you could use a multicolored pen, or color code the empty circle only with your pens when you're done with the task, so you don't really touch the pen writing. I also have switched to a non-erasable pen, which is hobonichi pen with 3 colors, I have a 7 colors pen, and I want to use it in the future
+mysummertouch Oh no! Sorry about that lol :) Looking forward to your new video! Thanks for the colour-coding ideas. So you've switched to non-erasable pen too! I'm surprised by how much I'm enjoying it. I always thought I would hate not being able to erase, but actually I haven't found it to be a problem. The only thing that is worrying me now is if I write down an appointment that gets cancelled - in my Cousin I like to be able to erase it so that I can see the slot is available again. Not sure what to do about that.
The new set-up as a wallet looks great! That cover is fantastic! I love seeing how you use the Weeks. If you're going to use the circles on both sides of the weekly pages, could you just use the color pencils to fill them in when tasks/appointments are done? This way you could add a little color. I also like the suggestion already made, about highlighting at the end of the day. Thanks for the video! I'm crazy about my Weeks :-)
+sandrameander Thanks so much! Yes, everyone agrees the colour needs to come back! I tried Otte's suggestion of highlighting at the end of the day and that is working really well! I already feel happier now that there's some colour back in it again :) So happy you love your Weeks too!
Its great to see the progression from week to week. I'm with you on the circles-on-both-sides idea. And its a bummer the highlighter pencils aren't working for you. The color adds something. Is washi something you are hoping to avoid in your no waste situation?
+_panchitah_ Thanks so much! Yes, I think I'll definitely try the circles on both sides. Re washi, I have such a gigantic supply that I won't need to decide whether or not to keep using it for quite a while! So that is an option. I had decided to avoid it in the Weeks because I was worried it would bulk it up too much, but maybe I should try it. Or give the highlighters another go.
+Jeanette DusksAngel That's a good idea. I actually have a bunch of them (haha, no surprise there!). I definitely need some way to bring back the colour!
Do the highlighter pencils make it smudge if you apply them at the end of the day? So the rainbow effect stays, and you have an evening session of colouring (which means you don't need to lug the highlighters around with you) and get to recap all the stuff you got done.
+Otte Deneb That's a great idea!!! I've just tried it and it does work. There's a bit of smudging (particularly with the yellow one, for some reason) but it's totally worth it because I already feel much happier seeing the colours again :) And you're right, doing at the end of the day saves time and gives a nice chance for a recap. Thanks so much!!
Do you have a fountain pen ink that's waterproof ? Like carbon black or something along that line? There are inks that will stand up to a highlighter - especially if you're only doing a line through it.
+Tracy Reinhardt Really? Thanks! I've been using Waterman ink, which I chose just because it was easy to get on Amazon and didn't have much packaging. It's pretty quick-drying but it does smudge a bit with the eco-highlighters. Off to investigate waterproof ink now! :)
Lovely setup :) I get what you mean about having some color on the pages... Maybe you can use only one pencil at a time, so that you don't have to carry all of them around all the time? Maybe use one color a day? That's what I've been doing on my Cousin. :)
+gabi b Thanks so much! Yes, the colour definitely needs to come back :) I'm trying out using the coloured pencils just at night, which means I don''t have to carry around the pencils - so far that seems to be working!
+organisedlifestyle It's a travel wallet made by a company called Corkor. You can order it on their website www.corkor.com, but I got mine from Amazon (UK). I did a review on it if you'd like to find out more about it: ua-cam.com/video/HV6TI9eq1BI/v-deo.html. It's a fantastic cover!
If the planner is colorful by itself like the ban.do planner and the happy planner, then I think it's fine to just use fountain pens. But Hobonichi is not itself a fun & colorful planner, so....I would prefer using color pens! I really like your spreads with colors. Also can you do a video about your collection of planner related stickers??? I would like to know what kind of stickers you have and where you get them!
+Plannergirl 777 Thanks! It seems everyone agrees - the colour needs to come back! I think the lack of colour in the last few weeks has actually been a reflection of my state of mind - I'm definitely going to bring back the coloured pencils. I'd love to do a sticker video (and also the video about minimalist planner supplies - I haven't forgotten!). For both of those I just need to wait until we can go back to Wales because I left some of my planner stuff there. :)

Thank you for sharing! Mine is coming in this week, and I'm really excited!!
+Danielle Chan Thanks for watching! So exciting that your Weeks is on its way - I'm sure you'll love it!

This is beautiful! Shoot now I want one.
+cheesecakefiend Haha, I know - it's the story of my life with Hobonichis! That's why I've ended up with all three different models ;)
If you want to color code with the sustainable pencils, use dots beside your entry rather than over. That will give you your minimal fun color.
+Mamabear That's a great idea! Thanks so much.
I like the setup. What kind of wallet did you say it was?
It's a cork travel wallet by Corkor. Sadly they don't seem to be making them any more 😭

Could you use the small .25" dots for color coding? Amazon (US) has several options and I've seen several Etsy stores that carry them as well.
+Jeanette DusksAngel That's a good idea. I actually have a bunch of them (haha, no surprise there!). I definitely need some way to bring back the colour!

+Vegan Organizer Yeah, that makes a lot more sense haha that's great that you figured it out :)
+gabi b Thanks! I can't take credit for the idea - someone suggested it, and I felt very silly for not having thought of it!
Where did you get the cute cover?

+cheesecakefiend Thanks so much!! You've made my day :)
hahaha
needs color lady
Haha, thanks! I think you're right.
+Vegan Organizer I wonder if it would work if you just underlined with the highlighter instead of marking right on top?
