    Thank you so much for sharing! Your system is awesome. Very inspiring. I am expecting my first Weeks, and plan to use similar to how you are. However...lol....I am not an artist, so mine will be filled with photos and stickers. This is awesome!

    I was clueless about using my weeks, but now I decided to use it for work! :) This is a great video for inspiration! :) Next year, I will use this for my journaling!

    You definitely don't need to worry about how you stack up against the others who decorate their planners! You have an amazing looking planner - it's so personalized and fun looking. I'm jealous I can't draw like you can - mine definitely is very very boring in comparsion. Yours is my new inspiration.

      aw so nice of you to say. I think we all compare our work to others but once we stop the comparing then we start having fun ;)

      Very true! I still love my planner (though I use a moleskine dot grid) I'm always on the lookout for planners, which lead me here. The hobonichi weeks is the perfect size and look for a planner on the go as I never seem to use the Moleskine in the planner way (probably because I have to set it up myself and I don't like it as much as having already done for me).

    • @scrapowlame1153
      @scrapowlame1153  8 років тому

      Yeah I think the size of the Hobonichi is perfect making it very convenient to fit in your purse. If you love using stamps in your planner then you might have an issue with the Hobonichi because when you stamp on the paper there is a lot of shadowing on the other size. But I found that if you use markers then there is virtually no shadowing.

      I'm not much of a stamper or decorator really - I use washi tape pretty sparingly. I'm more into colors - high lighters and pens - for certain subjects to catch my eye. I kept watching Hobonichi planner vids and I finally ordered one today! I get it in 2 days so I can't wait to break into it.

    Truly enjoyed your video. I have never own a Hobonichi and was going to order the Original, but like you I don't have kids or school so there is not much going on. I would like to start doing some journaling but was not sure if I could keep up with the daily pages. You have given me a great idea. I love the way you are using it. I'm really doubting if I really want to get the original. Might have to try the Weeks. Thanks for the inspiration.

    • @MariesNotes
      @MariesNotes 8 років тому

      +Scrap Owl Ame (Amber M.) no I really like the Hobonichi, I currently journal in a homemade journal I made a few years ago. (It's very basic, nothing fancy). But I was thinking of using my Midori for journaling once my other one runs out. I just love how you doodle and stuff, mine is just throwing words down with the pen of rage!

    I got the weeks this year for the same reason, Idk how people could use a whole page albeit a small page for a day.
    I like the week cause it’s a small space so even if you have nothing going on but you wanna fill the space you could just write what you ate every day for dinner or gratitude or anything basic like that.

    hi! thank you so much for your video, I'm in the process of purchasing a hobonichi weeks planner for next year and yours is so lovely!
    I wanted to know where you got the little happy girl stamp from? :D

    • @scrapowlame1153

      Kinsey Brown the stamp come in a container with stickers and foam stamp. I tried to find a link for it but couldn't find the one I ordered but On the container of the tin it says Momoi. I'm planning on doing a supply video very soon and we'll show it in the video. Hope this helps in the meantime.

    I love, love love your style and your little watercolor sketches! SO cute. What did you call that little blue book in the back? And what do you use it for? Thanks for this video! I subscribed to your channel too! Can't wait to see more! (I love that you are a scientist! Me too. What do you do?)

    • @scrapowlame1153
      @scrapowlame1153  8 років тому

      Thank so much. I'm so happy you liked it. The little blue book I named it My Field Journal and basically I just research a topic I am curiosity about and write fun facts about it. I have a process video on it that you check out if you like. And that is so cool that you are a scientist!!!! I work for a cancer diagnostic company. what about you?

    • @CJoyArt
      @CJoyArt 8 років тому

      I spent 20 years in diagnostic cardiology. I've been a teacher for the last 18 years, but got a second Master's about a year ago in zoology. I'm on the fauxbonichi journalers facebook page. Come check us out. I do a daily painting of an animal with some facts about them. I'll retire in 5 years and want to volunteer at a marine science center.

    • @scrapowlame1153
      @scrapowlame1153  8 років тому

      oh my gosh Carole that is exactly what I plan on doing. Like EXACTLY! After college I was thinking about teaching and started on getting my credentials but I missed the lab so went and got a job there. But i do plan on finishing my credentials so I could have the summers off so I can volunteer for ecosystem restoration (or anything really related to animals and their environment). I'm also a huge fan of freshwater ecology and policy and the future surrounding that. I want to get my Masters but haven't nearer it down to exactly what. I'm seriously in love with what you have told me about yourself. and I'll defiantly check out the Facebook page. :)

      I am excited to meet you. What country do you live in? I am in Spokane, Washington, USA. I have been working in my hobonichi avec for less than a month, but have done all animal paintings with facts about them. I am on a facebook page called fauxbinichi journalers. You can see my art there. I would love to "talk" more! You sound like such an interesting person.
