I’m craving pizza. It has been a month. And I try to eat pizza once a month. I successfully eat pizza up to 3 times a year because I do this thing when I say once a month and when that day comes I’m like maybe not the best choice. Tacos are a different story. Taco Tuesday have been cancelled a few times but it’s hard cuz tacos are healthy but not healthy. I’m transitioning to making my own tacos.

32 years old and still using the childhood trauma as a crutch. I’m 24, and even without therapy, I’ve had to learn to separate my childhood from my adult life. I’m in control now. My parents can’t harm me anymore. What’s even more of a slap in the face is she has said she now has good relationships with her parents. What emotions rise that make her compelled to eat a container of Chips Ahoy.. I don’t think it really has to do with her childhood anymore but more so her current life. She won’t admit that, though, because it makes Wifey look bad.
I honestly don't think her childhood was even that traumatic. She most likely went to loving foster homes. They noticed she had zero control around food, so they tried to help her lose weight and possibly did what Krystal's parents did and locked the fridge and cabinets. So that was a*use in Amberlynn's mind. There is a story she told a while back where she was to big to fit in one seat on an airplane. So her foster mom bought her another seat. Do you know how expensive it is to buy a seat the day of the flight?! I just dont believe anything she says anymore. She's even claimed her parents took the kids on day trips to Disneyland. She had timed out of foster care, she was 18 and was going to Oklahoma with her family. I also don't believe it has to do with childhood anymore. It's about not having anyone and missing out on life. She gains a lot of weight after every break up.
I totally agree, she is 32 years old and lives a miserable life, she doesn't have friends, doesn't have a social life, she can't go visit places because of her size. It must be hell to have her body, and I think she thinks weight loss is too difficult and now she is stuck. I used to ballroom dance. From time to time I competed on behalf of my Fred Astaire studio. During one comp, my dance heel got caught in the crack of the parquet wood tile dance floor, and I severely tore the tendons in my foot. My coach wrapped my foot, gave me 2 Motrin, and told me to smile through the pain. It was awful-but like you said, I’ve seen people with near debilitating issues continue to go to work, take care of their kids, etc. I’m just convinced that AL doesn’t understand how real people live their lives.

As someone who also binges, it’s easier to prevent myself from binging than it is to stop. A lot of it has to do with my emotions so as long as I keep it in check and do the things my therapist has me do to be mindful of my emotions, I can prevent binges. Back when I would binge more frequently, as sick as I felt from doing it, my mindset was to hurt somewhere else. I know that sounds bad, but for me that was the purpose of me binging.

Did she not count the caloric value for the oil in her couscous? I just Googled nutrition facts for a basic/generic garlic olive oil. 6 tbsp is 720 calories. Fun fact, I also looked up directions for cooking a box of couscous. Says to only use 1 tbsp of oil.
Most Mediterranean diets include SO MUCH olive oil because is a healthy fat and when it is pure it tastes amazing but she's Just looking for any excuse at this point

ALR could have healthy oils if she didn't go overboard and was more active. I'd have to become a marathon runner to be able to nonchalantly add in 6 tbsp to one meal.

And while I get a lot of people mix up different types of mental health work, I don't believe this is her situation because if she has been seeing this psychologist for years now she would know what appointment she's making.

I think it's an addiction. During my second pregnancy hormones f*ed so hard with me, that I binged and gained weight uncontrollably. Something inside me just forced me to eat non-stop and I was thinking about food all the time. I didn't even know I could eat so much. It took all my willpower to end this after 5 months. And I do not have a history of eating disorders or even weight problems at all. So I don't judge anymore. She should be more honest with herself, though. She is in denial.
Being pregnant can and will play absolute havoc on hormones. Amber is not, nor ever will be-pregnant, so I’m not sure the comparison fits. Also, pregnancy (and it’s accompanying urges for strange food, binges, etc.,) usually dissipates at some point after the pregnancy ends. AL has been super-morbidly obese for a minimum of 15 years. At what point do we just accept that perhaps she’s content with where she’s at, and this discussion about her wanting to lose weight is just merely a ploy to monetize it for her own gain? I think the only thing she’s “addicted” to is the desire to manipulate her audience.

I used to ballroom dance. From time to time I competed on behalf of my Fred Astaire studio. During one comp, my dance heel got caught in the crack of the parquet wood tile dance floor, and I severely tore the tendons in my foot. My coach wrapped my foot, gave me 2 Motrin, and told me to smile through the pain. It was awful-but like you said, I’ve seen people with near debilitating issues continue to go to work, take care of their kids, etc. I’m just convinced that AL doesn’t understand how real people live their lives.

As someone who also binges, it’s easier to prevent myself from binging than it is to stop. A lot of it has to do with my emotions so as long as I keep it in check and do the things my therapist has me do to be mindful of my emotions, I can prevent binges.
Back when I would binge more frequently, as sick as I felt from doing it, my mindset was to hurt somewhere else. I know that sounds bad, but for me that was the purpose of me binging.
Because she’s a lair, and not a binge eater. She is a glutton who chronically overeats and uses the title of binge eating disorder as a crutch to remove any accountability from herself/ her actions.

Did she not count the caloric value for the oil in her couscous? I just Googled nutrition facts for a basic/generic garlic olive oil. 6 tbsp is 720 calories.
Fun fact, I also looked up directions for cooking a box of couscous. Says to only use 1 tbsp of oil.
Most Mediterranean diets include SO MUCH olive oil because is a healthy fat and when it is pure it tastes amazing but she's Just looking for any excuse at this point

@@Diana-dk6qd Yeah, there's nothing wrong with the Mediterranean diet. It's one of the healthiest out there. However with any diet you still need to be active. ALR could have healthy oils if she didn't go overboard and was more active. I'd have to become a marathon runner to be able to nonchalantly add in 6 tbsp to one meal.

The point of counting calories is to be aware and eat less of them. She just eats whatever she wants still and counts 4-5k a day and never gets the point of reducing calories she wasted her calories on such useless junk food too.

I'm a psychologist, a psychologist is not a therapist or a councilor to have sessions with someone, they also aren't psychiatrists to give her meds. Why would she be "seeing" a psychologist is beyond me.
And while I get a lot of people mix up different types of mental health work, I don't believe this is her situation because if she has been seeing this psychologist for years now she would know what appointment she's making.

I think it's an addiction. During my second pregnancy hormones f*ed so hard with me, that I binged and gained weight uncontrollably. Something inside me just forced me to eat non-stop and I was thinking about food all the time. I didn't even know I could eat so much. It took all my willpower to end this after 5 months. And I do not have a history of eating disorders or even weight problems at all. So I don't judge anymore. She should be more honest with herself, though. She is in denial.
Being pregnant can and will play absolute havoc on hormones. Amber is not, nor ever will be-pregnant, so I’m not sure the comparison fits. Also, pregnancy (and it’s accompanying urges for strange food, binges, etc.,) usually dissipates at some point after the pregnancy ends. AL has been super-morbidly obese for a minimum of 15 years. At what point do we just accept that perhaps she’s content with where she’s at, and this discussion about her wanting to lose weight is just merely a ploy to monetize it for her own gain? I think the only thing she’s “addicted” to is the desire to manipulate her audience.

There's a scientific, well documented link between people having bad childhoods and them developing eating disorders, either restricting food intake or turning to it for comfort. She IS a food addict, she DOES have binge eating disorder. Pasta with kidney beans and either broccoli or spinach is a staple of my diet and I maintain a healthy weight. It doesn't matter what combination of nutritious food you eat in a day if you stick to the recommended caloric intake to lose or maintain.
