I carry mine all the time, it’s an excellent knife. When Michael dropped the first batch I drove to his house/shop and picked up 3 of them. I have recommended this knife to so many others. For the price, quality, and materials… you just can’t beat it.
Sir Doody, that thing is beautiful! Thanks to you i got my first slipjoint for Christmas, a sodbuster jr. Also got an awesome leather belt sheath for it which i love.
Happy New Year Doody! All my best to you for a healthy and "sharp" 2025! My knife of the year would have to be my Benchmade Bailout in Crater Blue and Flat Dark Earth blade. It kept me company, opening and closing, while recently driving an 18footer from Ontario to Nova Scotia! Cheers!
Huh, that’s pretty wild. The knife I am enjoying by far of everything I got in 2024 is also a slipjoint - UKPK in SPY27. It happens to be my most recent pickup. It’s super comfortable and is a nimble blade. These two factors make it so it cuts like a laser beam. SPY27 is an excellent user steel, it responds well to a strop. And since I chose the g-10 handle variant it has the slightly stronger back spring. It works well with the choil to create a very solid grip. I hope we see more slipjoint designs in 2025.
I can get down with this 100% it just looks like a killer carry. Haven’t handled one yet but I will someday. Can’t beat the steel and blade shape either. Materials are premium. What’s not to love
It’s become my most carried work knife it’s amazing! I’ve sharpened it 5 or so times already and the choil still has a lot of life and there’s no blade play but crazy action
I had the same experience where I didn’t expect to love it. I’m not a big slip joint guy but couldn’t turn it down. And it’s grown on me SOO much I’ve carried it every day since I got it. I like it over my Jack wolf big bro too it’s just got such a soul to it. Mine has the same walk&talk but no blade play I think he’s improving with them
It was freezing this morning where I'm at as well. That lct does look phenomenal, though. That abw slip joint can not be beat. i did a value knife of the year video that I was about to release, and im sure if I'd had this, it would have won as $160 usa magnacut is unheard of.
I received Tristate's knife on the 26 of December so I would say it's my knife of the year. The button actuated framelock is crazy good. Everyone should go to that style of lock. Great detent. Can either use or ignore the button. Bestech's quality is outstanding. The QC large drift came in second. I want an LCT so bad. You're going to love the QC Catch. I got to try one out the other day. It's a little small for my tastes but I know you prefer a smaller knives. I'll wait for a large Catch.
1:052:40 oh, now you care about the weight and thinness? I guess the Narrows is Knife of the Year again, six years running… I’d probably call that a balaclava. A GD SLIPJOINT IM OUT. YOU BEEN HITTING ON SOMETHING 😂 Later Doody, happy new year.
Off of their shitty customer service alone, Quiet Carry should never have a knife declared best or knife of the year. I’ll never buy anything from them again. So good move Doody and Happy New Year!
I own this knife. I enjoy it. I love that it's not flush on the back spacer. I feel like in doing so it would have attempted to be just like every other cookie-cutter slip joint and would in effect take away from it's personality. I'm fine with it just the way it is.
A slippy for the win! I would have expected closer to perfection on the winner. Hopefully, your critiques will make the next batch better. Thanks for sharing.
I was thinking my Spyderco Manix 2 was my knife of the year and then I got my Hogue Deka out and started using it a couple days ago. Think my Hogue gets my vote for 2024.
I disagree with you. The Drift LCT is probably not only the knife of the year, but it's probably one of my best in a collection of ~100 knives. It is thicker than their other stuff (I have the normal Drift, a Waypoint, and an iQ), but I think it was designed that way for a purpose. It makes it feel like a heavy duty knife and fits in the hand veeeerrry nicely. Other than having to take it apart to put some thread locker on the two (one internal) pocket clip screws, there's nothing else I can nitpick. I love my anchor gray color, the stonewash is nice, the thinness behind the edge is fantastic, the size is perfect, the lockup is excellent, the opening methods (thumb or middle finger) is perfect, it drops shut, zero blade play....I could probably go on and on. I haven't tried that slip joint you're talking about, but I wouldn't even give it a shot after experiencing the Drift LCT. I even like it more than my Vero Lux, which I thought was probably the best knife up to this point. This is about as perfect as it gets.
@doodysdaggers I know. I walked past his booth at Bladeshow intending to come back when my buddy got in bad shape, and I had to leave early. I'll get one eventually.
0:00 before I hear the selection… my Knife of the year goes to the compadre by kunwu… such an amazing knife for the money. I didn’t get to handle too many new knife models this year but the compadre basically lived in my pocket this year. Only came out to try out recent purchases but just always seemed to be the go to and found the pocket the most!
Doody, you ever think about milling out the LCT some more? Looks like there's plenty more that can be taken out. You're no stranger to knife mods. This seems like it would be simple enough. My knife if the year is rhe LCT. I got myself a 2nd one because I loved it so much. I put a mirror edge on one
Great choice. I was smitten to grab one from a REC drop; my second modern slip. Cheers to you and cheers to a wonderful 2025. Many thanks dood!

Oh that’s awesome!
I couldn’t agree more on the ABW slip joint! I love mine. Bought it after watching your first video on it.
It's a winner!
I can get down with this 100% it just looks like a killer carry. Haven’t handled one yet but I will someday. Can’t beat the steel and blade shape either. Materials are premium. What’s not to love
Love the look, specs and price - thanks for showcasing that model - Happy New Year!
I just bought a drift L KNSWSW yesterday, can't wait to try it out!
I recently got that one, it’s a perfect knife and my favorite knife yet!
It’s become my most carried work knife it’s amazing! I’ve sharpened it 5 or so times already and the choil still has a lot of life and there’s no blade play but crazy action

Nice man! Glad you have one
I think your hat is called a balaclava.
I’m no expert but doesn’t that one cover the face? Or not necessarily?
@mikeD1234 Yeah. Only the eyes are uncovered.
That slip def on radar now
Them thangs gonna sell out before they even hit the site now😭

Giant mouse Ace iona in magnacut was my knife of the year appreciate your opinion and the video

I’d probably call that a balaclava.
A GD SLIPJOINT IM OUT. YOU BEEN HITTING ON SOMETHING 😂
Later Doody, happy new year.
😂
Hahaha, tell me this is a joke
I don’t think so… I think Doody really does like slipjoints ☹️
I agree I love mine and it grow on me more every day
I don't like slips but I can get behind where you're coming from. Good choice.
Sick. I hope he can pump more of those out!
Off of their shitty customer service alone, Quiet Carry should never have a knife declared best or knife of the year. I’ll never buy anything from them again. So good move Doody and Happy New Year!
Yeah, no. They make great knives.
Will you do a cut test with this knife of the year? I want one very bad lol.
I own this knife. I enjoy it. I love that it's not flush on the back spacer. I feel like in doing so it would have attempted to be just like every other cookie-cutter slip joint and would in effect take away from it's personality. I'm fine with it just the way it is.
Just signed up for ABW's mailing list to hopefully get on the next drop. I very rarely find knives that I love. This seems like it may be one of them.
Doody have you made a leather slip for the ABW Slipjoint? I need to hit you up for one if you have. Love your content.
Yeah I’m actually about to make a small batch, hit me up if you want one
If I can sell some old knives I might pick one of these up to pair with my abw model one!
You know I love the pick. There is just something special about this one.
Absolutely
"My" knife of the year around 500.00 is the fabulous Reate GTR ❤
We just need some after-market FRN scales for the Drift. Haha
A slippy for the win! I would have expected closer to perfection on the winner. Hopefully, your critiques will make the next batch better. Thanks for sharing.
Unexpected. Fair enough!
I was disappointed with my ABW slip. The edge bevel is super sloppy and uneven, gonna be a pain to straighten out and clean up.
That sucks mine was good

I dub you sir dood
🙇
The Compadre came out this year dude. As did the Ticonic.
Yep, still doesn’t beat the ABW in my book. The Compadre was great tho
@doodysdaggers *gasp* blasphemy lol
I hate that i missed the ABW.
There will be more!
@doodysdaggers I know. I walked past his booth at Bladeshow intending to come back when my buddy got in bad shape, and I had to leave early. I'll get one eventually.
Do you ever see the Slip4 over taking it in the pocket? Later Dood.
No, maybe the Slip7
@@doodysdaggers Ok, I need to check your latest Serge video. Thanks.

The Compadre is in my top 5 absolutely!
Cheers to that. QC customer service blows. Lost me as a customer for good.
Oh yeah I've heard that a few times now
BIG Dood W. American made is the way. The tide is turning, we no longer need infinity china knife version “X”. Thank you for your service - o7 🇺🇸

Not for me, I don’t have a mill. Would be cool though
100%
