I cant wait to see the sales stats to because they are being baught so much. Just put an order in for an Australian-Delivered vehicle. Turbo lag is the only real issue. Depreciation might be a problem, but I'm used to it - as I used to drive Holdens...
Will definitely go for a look, currently have a Foton and it's been a good ute but there's a question about any new models coming,my only concern is the engine,how the gwm will handle towing caravan,and would like to see some on the road

Excellent demonstration very well done AND so true. I now owned one for nearly a year; Cannon X did very rough tracks such as Birdsville track towing a Eurostar (converted to be semi offroad). The bottom line...this Ute beats MANY others by far...and rides better than MOST passenger cars!

I think it generates 400nm Torque with 120KW so I wouldn't worry about that - GWM like HAVAL is doing incredible things extracting the most power out their engines.

Test drove it a few days ago, I must say it has by far the best interior to any bakkie. The turbo lag is a bit annoying for especially for someone who drives the 2.8 GD6 Auto Hilux which is ready to go the moment you lift the foot off the brake pedal.
Any 2l turbo diesel overstressed to 350nm or above would respond the same ! My experience with the 2l ford everest was really bad ! It had loads of lags more than even the l series ! I guess it would be better if they provide tge 3l v6 diesel which they were planning !

taking into consederation that most bakkies like for instance nissan ford toyota cheapest bakkies starts off their prices cheapest models higher then tis bakkie .Imust say 2 things gwm has been gone for a long time from the market in sa with their bakkies going into suvs and although we al im sure wondered i can tell you one thing for sure gwm has done their homework with all the way with this bakkie .I would even go as far as saying no 2 it feels like the bakkie market are in absolute war again with each other for the market example think for instance you have newer updated ranger ,the new legend from hilux,navara nissan have a brand new bakkie out and also this bakkie who also came in .But what the most well known manufacturers did not expect is that this bakkie came into the sa market at a time where well i for one think it will do very well in sales.Im am very intrested to see how this bakkie is gonna do in sales .
I’ve had 3 GWM steeds through the years and even though affordable the aftermarket support and service centres are horrible. I’ll never buy any form of GWM due to that. I purchased a 2nd had ford ranger to avoid this mistake.
very underpowered, I drove one for a week and not impressed at all especially when we piled 4 hefty adults and a 200kg payload on the tray. It felt strained and snail-pace up even the smallest inclines

I don't know why but i can't take ignition car..let's call them commentators seriously, honestly i'd rather watch an episode of 5th gear(another really bad car show) backwards while on fire. Where do they find these wallpaper paste commentators, not to mention the repetitive looped b-roll of mate "4 wheeling" it through the same pothole. Good product, terrible content. UA-cam's algorithm just wasted my time, imma go back and watch the Marble olympics instead.
Many owners of Ford and Hilux are actually trading in their bakkies for the GWM P series. Infact both Hilux and ford look cheap compared to the P Series.

Ive seen the inside of a Ford Ranger - this car makes the ford look cheap and plastic inside. Cant even compare them.
