This is a Persona 5 Guide for the Secret Boss Fight against Caroline and Justine

The two Personas I use are Odin (82/Emperor Max Confidant) and Kaguya (DLC), but you can do it with Yoshitsune instead of Kaguya which is actually better as you can inherit defensive passives instead of having Bless Amp/Bosst + Magic Ability
In a certain sense, fighting with Joker Only is "easier" than having allies as being alone will make the fight a lot more predictable. There fight is divided into different phases:
Phase 1: Caroline uses Vajra Blast (phys, Justine uses Triple Down (gun)
Rotation on main character is Heat Riser, Charge/Concentration, Shining Arrows/Hassou Tobi
If with team members, I recomment starting with Haru and Makoto as they can still be used in Phase 2 without receiving elemental attacks they are weak to. You can leave the 3rd spot open or if you really want to use a 3rd ally, just choose whatever you want.
If you have Heat Riser on Haru, you can skip Heat Riser on MC
Phase 2: In order, Caroline uses Fire and Justine uses Ice, then Caroline uses Thunder and Justine uses Wind. IF MC gets burnt by Fire or shocked by Thunder, Justine will keep using Wind to get the Technical bonus.
Keep doing same stuff as previous Phase.
Phase 3: Caroline uses Psy and then Bless while Justine uses Nuke and then Curse. If one of the two goes under 50% HP, the other one will use Diarahan for full heal, which will delay her skill rotation.
Change Makoto to Morgana and Haru to whatever.
Phase 4: Caroline and Justine will do all the different types of damage in order (the order than can be seen on status screen by pressing L1: phys, gun, fire, ice, thunder, wind, psy, nuke, bless, curse)
It's better to let your party members die (apart from MC) because on Phase 5 they will use Divine Judgement and Demonic Decree which you want to repel with MC
Phase 5: Same as previous phase, but now they will use higher tier skills. Bless and Curse will be Divine Judgement and Demonic Decree.
Phase 6: They use the same skills as previous phase but now the rotation is shuffled, so here is when you can manipulate their healths to bring them to similar levels, even if by doing so you might have to break your own skill rotation. There is a chance they will use bless/curse at the same turn, but the one with highest HP will lose the more health.
If you kill only one, the other will revive her to 50% HP. You can still continue and win the fight, but it will make things more annoying as it will be more difficult to bring their life to a similar level.
Fusing Kaguya
This is not necessary, but first I kept doing Network Fusion until I received a Persona (Bishamoten) with Magic Ability (+25% Magic Damage). This is completely random and might take some time savescumming (save/reload).
I fused a Principality with Bless Boost (35/Justice) to a Throne with Bless Amp(74/Justice) and inherited these 2 skills on a Power (41/Justice)
I fused Bishamoten to Power and got Moloch (60/Hanged) where I inherited Magic Ability, Bless Amp, Bless Boost and learnt Drain Fire.
Now just fuse your way from Moloch to Kaguya while inheriting the 4 skills. There are infinite different ways and mine is DEFINITELY not the most efficient one as I made some mistakes.
Moloch + Hua Po (9/Hanged) = Take-Minakata
Take-Minakata + Yaksini (20/Empress) = Isis
Isis + Obariyon (8/Fool) = Nue
Nue + Onmoraki (12/Moon) = Kaguya
While fusing Kaguya, I made sure STR was NOT an highlighted stat (this is unnecessary, but I'm writing it in case you want to min max).
After that I levelled Kaguya to 99 through Gallows Fusion. While doing this, I inherited Invigorate 3 and Drain Ice from Satan (92/Judge Max Confidant) and Spell Master from Kohryu (76/Hiero Max Confidant
Fusing Odin
Jatayu (32/Tower) + Satanael = Kali
Black Rider (59/Tower) + Kohryu = Abaddon
Abaddon + Kali = Odin (inherit Heat Riser, Spell Master, Drain Phys/Nuke, learn Concentrate at 85). I then taught Drain Ice through Gallows with Satan, Invigorate 3/High Counter with Skill Card from Memento Request - Ігри
Weird thing is, soloing Caroline and Justine is better.
Why? Because Joker’s turn comes much much faster.
And they don't exploit your team's weaknesses.

I tried something similar with Rangda but they just instantly end the fight with a cheat(no attack, just Joker going to the Ground for no reason) But then again, that gave me the most beautiful All Out Attack in the game XD
All of the persona games prepare for that. Especially this game. In the old ones, you'd just get almighty'd to death. This one, you get insta over'd. You really can't get away with cheesing the secret bosses in these games.

I read some where that a clean Nue was the best persona for network fusions. What I mean but clean is a Nue that hasnt been changed in anyway or fused together. It has to be a Nue you capture. The reason for this is his base skills have a low chance to transfer to the fused persona giving you a higher chance to get one of the network fusion skills. I tried it and within 30mins I had Magic ability, Almighty Amp, Almighty Boost & Chain link (I think thats what its called). I dont know if it'll workout for any of you but I had good results with it maybe you might too.

This fight is fun. I use Ann on my team for it because she has good support and it helps when they split a little damage. The worst thing in the fight for me was status effects because you'll pretty much lose instantly if you get hit by one
I was so close with all party members. But yeah its annoying as hell when the twins keep chain critical hitting my teammates. Yoshitsune was I think the best persona besides kaguya picaro . I might do this solo. When I tried on merciless I got half way through before the insta kill and on hard they were so low I almost lost my mind when they insta killed me.
I wonder if your up for it do you think you could make a low lvl Caroline and justine boss fight video solo i believe if done right by the time u first hit mementos u can fight them after u max their confidant you can keep yourself between lvl 6 to lvl 9
Also possibly a Reaper solo low lvl one too im just curious to see how someone who has a lot of knowledge of the game can take on one of the more difficult challenges
naturally this isn't a request just a suggestion so take from it what you will and i look forward to future videos be it in persona or anything else :]
I have seen another person doing it low level so that's why I don't think I would do it. I made a guide for those who were interested in doing it, but yeah the only difference level makes is having less hp/sp so it will be just inheriting more elemental absorptions.
Problem with Reaper is that its Life Drain deals 150 damage and I think your HP is around that number at very low levels, so you would have to get lucky with RNG

I used a Satanael full of passives and a 94 magic Messiah, both Personas with firm stance and divine pillar equipped. Honestly not that hard of a fight. Tho for merciless Yoshitsune or Kaguya are still probably the better choice if you don't want to bother.
For Odin I reccomend getting repel fire by from Vishnu through the gallows. Now the only element he isn't immune to is Psi and gunfire.

I might do something similar, but if you really want the "best" setup it becomes "Yoshitsune & friends"
I've been setting up with Shiva with Drain Phys/Fire/Wind/Nuke and Yoshitsune with Repel Curse. I just need to make Abaddon with no weaknesses and Absorb Bless and I'm good to go. Sadly, I'm still at NG so optimizing Yoshitsune is no go as he automatically gets 5 level from just fusing him.
Hope I can defeat them solo too!

I was at Level 99, but in Persona 5 Level only affects HP and SP
Random: does a persona have set personas they can network fusion into? As in they won't let you fuse a lvl 30 into a lvl 70 persona? Thanks.
There are no limits, you could fuse a level 30 and get a level 70 if the other person online uses something like a level 90 one

Also, you can get repel ice from skadi at lvl 60 instead of getting drain ice from satan. It's much cheaper and easier to get imo.
Yeah using Alice should be fine. It will take longer as she will deal less damage, but it should still be possible. It's possible to make Personas that are immune to everything, for example you can take Abaddon and teach it everything it's missing but if you do that you will only have 1 slot available for other stuff.
The problem with getting repel instead of drain is that you might make the gap in health between Justine and Caroline too big

I have Shiva that nulls/repels/absorbs everything except gun. I tried to go 1v1 against the twins but couldn't beat them within 50 turns (normal difficulty)...
the think is Yoshitsune learns a Skill that hits 8 TIMES to all enemies and ONLY HIM can learn it. Yoshitsune is the most broken persona since Forever.
Shaunak Deshpande Search for the ultimate yoshitsune build in google, he repels and nulls everything except gun, and he still has hassou tobi, charge and arms master.

Sephi you should show us how to catch the stupid guardian fish or w.e =) I just need to do that, and get all the treasure demons and ill have all the tedious trophies down! trying to figure out which week rains so i can just do it and go back to a previous save file
You can actually catch the guardian fish on any day, the only difference is that on rainy days it appears from the beginning.
On normal days, it will appear after you have caught something like 5 or more other fishes. If you've read the fishing book which allows you to use the 3rd eye, the guardian is the fish that is long and yellow
Guardian appears after the sixth fish.
You need Top class bait to catch it, and i advice getting him close to the edge by luring him because he can get away easily

Will you be making a video showing ur endgame persona team? After seeing ur kaguya, i'm interested in seeing what your main team build is like.
It sounds disappointing but my endgame team was actually random personas I got along the way xD I usually build 1-2 broken Personas and use them 90% of the time. The other 10% is personas with various elements to exploit weaknesses
SephiZack still would be great if you ever make one tho :). Maybe something that advise on the best debuffing, buffing and healing personas? Im interested to know if i could just stack all the good buffs/debuffs on a single persona and use it as a initial starter in fights. Same goes for having a main healer.
hello need your help. i cant seem to have the personas to craft yositsune with null passives. do i need to fuse the originals lvl them up till they get the null passives and then fuse all they way up until yositsune?
How much strength does Yoshimitsu need in order to reach the minimum damage to counter knock down?
Can you do a video on how to build your personas, like magic and skill wise. Like i see in this video, your two personas only have like 3 spells between them and the rest are passives. Is this the way you should build personas m? I feel like i'm just wasting a lot of slots on my personas with elemental spells and what not
Having lots of different elemental spells is how I played my entire first playthrough, so there is nothing wrong in doing that :) Most of the time what I show in videos is completely unnecessary to enjoy the game, they're just to show the possibilities

With the special gun skill you can crit them. But with the spells and the phisic skills is much difficult cause they are all 99

I recommend, if you're just using him for the Twins fight:
Hassou Tobi
Arms Master
Ali Dance
Angelic Grace
Regenerate 3
Repel Curse
Drain Psy
Drain Nuke
Then if you're Min/Max-ing, prioritize Strength and Agility.
That's just what I'd recommend. It doesn't really matter what the last two Drain skills are, in fact, you could also just replace them with Regenerate 1/2. Or do whatever the fuck you want, I'm not your dad.

hey man, can you help me out here...i'm trying to get through this god damned fight, i've got the odin and i've got yoshitsune, they're both perfect for the fight with odin having a bunch of drain X type passives, spell master, charge and heat riser and yoshitsune has also got a bunch drain X passives, arms master and his 8x hit move...but for some stupid reason at somewhere between turn 11 and 16 the twins do their line about "you're not strong enough" and use their bullshit All-Out-Attack...even though i easily beat them down to 50% hp and then some in that time...you ever have that problem? my joker's level is around 86 i think, not sure if that helps but i figure if i give as much info to someone who's clearly done this fight maybe i can get some help
That is what happens when you don't deal enough damage in 3 turns I think. Did you like buff yourself or use Hassou Tobi less than every 3 turns?

Demonic Decree is learnt only by Beelzebub. Divine Judgement from Gabriel, Metatron and Michael,
Those skills won't work against the boss fight if you are the one using them though

Did Yoshisune Null Elec in P5? I'm too lazy to check but I'm playing through P5Royal and my Yoshi has Arms master, and is immune to all damage(Null Curse, Psy Repel Nuke, Wind and Drain Ice) except Gun and his natural resistant fire
I don't remember being able to take it this far in base P5 maybe I had a slot taken up by Regenerate but I remember learning Ali Dance just to evade 2 missing immunities. Now it's no problem
Not to mention in P5 I only had Hassou Tobi and passives, now I have Charge on Yoshi himself AND TRIPLE CHARGE EFFECTIVENESS(Will of the Sword passive trait). It's kind of ridiclous.
Don't even get me started on my Mot with Mighty Gaze, Megidolan, Almighty boost and amp, and all three Auto-Ma skills
Maybe because P5 was my first Persona game but I feel like Royal made it wayyyy easier to fuse beastly personas

well idk, i win this battle with Satanael (firm stance,and Divine pillar),with all my teammates and was a good battle,my favorite of the all game,the only problem was the all out attack,if Justine deals a critical hit you're dead,however it's somehow disappointing the difficult,i mean,you play Nocturne?, the Super Boss is really a Tough Battle.

im create a Satanael with -firm stance,Magic Ability,Almg AMP,Almg Boost,Spell Master,Concentrate,Megidolaon and Victory Cry, and you can farm "Divine Pillar" killing the reaper,and stacks with Firm stance.
i inherited Firm stance form Futsunushi, try and load if not inherit,the others from a network execution.
Satanael is strength to all. and nulls Bless and Absorbs Death,whit This your damage taken is half,and with divine pilar is half again and whit Firm Stance is half again, in mercyless i take 15 point maximum of deal dmg, the only problem is the critic chance of justine,if she deals you a critic you're death.
i not play with other personas this fight,the first time i tried with yoshitsune,but ali dance,angelic grace,buff and debuff don't were useful,Justine kills all my teammates after i can do enough ,perhaps was just bad luck .
a few persons have this type of skill,almost all high level if you're a low level you need the strength arcana to max lvl,you can create persona a level higher than yours .
Satan Have ice Drain, Belzeebub has Drain Curse,Cybele has drain Bless,ishtar has Drain Wind,Kali has Drain Nuke,and i don't remember other personas with drain.
Jack Frost and King Frost have ice amp,Surt hves a Fire Amp,Odin Thor Yoshitsune and Oberon have Elec Amp, Cybele and Throne have Bless Amp,Beelzebub and Thanatos have Curse Amp,Khoryu have Psy Amp,Titania Moloch and Bishamonten have Nuke Amp,Garuda and Vishnu have Wind Amp,and i remember now Moloch has Absorbs Fire and i was wrong,absorb curse is from Attis.
Surt is from skill Card,or you can create mada he has Fire Amp.

That RNG aspect aside, there hasn't been a fight in a persona since 3 that rivaled the difficulty of the Elizabeth fight. I like that Atlus is opening up the game to a broader audience, (as with most RPG developers nowadays) but when I was growing up playing games like P3, Xenosaga and Lost Odyssey, they seemed way more brutally unforgiving than these newer games.
P3 isn't brutally difficult though
At least not for the right reasons
P3 is difficult because you can't control your team and there ai is Extreamly dumb to the point you have to Fuck around with the tactics menu to get it to do something you want it to do (unless it decides to be dumb) see persona 3 portable which seems to be considered one of the easier games in the seires where they give you skill cards and more importantly the ability to control your team mates
I don't know the other games so I can't say anything about those
However Caroline and Justine while not as difficult as Elizabeth are quite hard especially on merciless difficulty and with multiple team members
I mean I know it took me several tries to beat them on normal at level 70 with 3 party members just trying to
Figure out a good stratagy to take them down (because I was both unable to and out right refused to Fuse yoshitsuna)
P3 is considered far more difficult than p4 or p5, and for way more reasons than just the lack of control of party members. Boss fights were way more fleshed out and seemed more unique. Social links were also much harder to maintain due to various roadblocks that weren't present after p3.
I'm not saying they aren't difficult. They just aren't nearly as hard. Its a trend i've been seeing a lot with JRPGs released lately.
Also, you should have known solo Joker was the only way to do that boss battle. They don't even allow you to bring party members in p4, and I think you could in p3 but you'd just catch a 9999 Megidolan to the dome.

Personally i don't see a diffrence between Persona 3 boss fight's and persona 4 and 5 boss fight's but that's me
Also Why is persona 3 considered more difficult then 4 and 5
and I don't think there were any changes to portable's Social link's (male wise that is) and it's still considered one of the easiest game's in the franchise from what i know But i could be wrong

I didn't have a Persona with Several Null's and absorb's That has heat raiser and Charge
So the only way i could do this fight is with a team and i beat the ever loving shit out of them when i figured out a good stratagy (even if there were the occasional missteps)
How do you continue your save file after the ending?
You can save after you see the in-game credits. Then just load that save to start NG+ You cannot "continue" playing the first playthrough
SephiZack or anyone that can answer my question. If your affinity to Fire, Ice, Electric, and Physical (Physical & Gun) is Null, Repel, or Absorb, does that mean you're immune to Burn, Freeze, Shock, and Criticals?

You're still actually correct. What I've noticed for playing this game 5 times, you can still be hit with the status by other means
Example: Jack Frost nullifies Ice but no Null Freeze can still be frozen through Arsene's Cane (Random Ailment Low) because JF isn't protected from Physical attacks. Or you can land a critical hit on Abaddon with Joker's gun with Oda Special because Abaddon Drains Gun, but with Oda Special bypassing Null or higher, Abaddon has a chance of being crit through Joker's gun.
So in short, if the affinity you're attacking with is blocked, you will fail to inflict the ailment with it.
are Caroline and Justine vulnerable to Demonic Decree and Divine Judgement only during a repel? as in, what if you cast your own Demonic Decree and Divine Judgement instead of rely on repel, do they still take damage from that? or is it really hard to hit with Demonic Decree and Divine Judgement when you cast it versus during a repel?
they are only vulnerable to repel
You suggested Yoshitsune and Shiva in your other video but how would I go about fusing the Shiva? I'm looking around but I can't find a good recipe for making the Shiva to support Yoshitsune :/
It's probably better to just go with Yoshitsune and Odin. After thinking about it, Yoshitsune has less the problem of "difference in health" compared to Kaguya because Yoshitsune always hits 8 times, whereas Kaguya is 4-8 so Yoshitsune is more consistent. In this case then I think Odin is better so you can always repel Divine Judgement and Demonic Decree

Im salty as hell. I had the timing screwed up on demonic decree and divine judgement so the fight took a while. Then just when I had them low enough for a charged hassou tobi to finish it they said nope and just ohko'd me. I had no idea the fight was timed.
Yeah, the fight is timed. However, not in the traditional sense: If you fail to do enough damage within a set amount of moves, the twins knock you down, even if guarding, and will one hit kill you with an all out attack. It really sucks.

Rather than High Counter, would Repel Phys be better? All the Counter skills only apply to Phys Attacks right?
I think Drain Phys is better as Repel Phys could make their HP different if you're unlucky, but my High Counter was 100% random skill added just because

I think that if you use that against them, they will perform an all-out attack and instakill you
That's not true you can use it but it kills the fun of the fight, I jjuat use omnipotent orb on Reaper farm because sometime you can get fuck over.

I beat them by just spamming Hassou Tobi from Yoshitsune and I had Ryuji, Ann, and Makoto with all of their ultimate Personas and just kept spamming Charge/Concentrate and their strongest moves with Makoto only healing. Lololol it was weird
So it was a grind. I tried it before work with a team and it's not very fun having the twins get Once Mores and killing you because you give them multiple turns. I want to try this with a team but I'll probably do it solo

So it looks like it's better to use kaguya specifically for bless damage? I gave her megidolaon but then I guess it's better to leave that job to Alice instead?
Shining Arrows is basically the magic version of Yoshitsune's Hassou Tobi. For almighty, Alice or Messiah seem to be the better option: infact, Messiah comes with an Almighty boost/amp and he resists everything except curse.
clayisahottie what's a good alternative for the last skill? so far, I have spell master, magic ability, null fire, null phys, bless boost, amp. will concentrate fit here for the last skill?

Thanks that's true. Do you think trumpeter with mostly debilitate + spell master is worth it? I'm thinking of. Spell master, debilitate, and null/repel/absorb on strike, gun, fire, wind, psych, and nuke? Then switch to kaguya to attack

Shiva would have similar stuff to odin, so just concentrate+heat riser and elemental immunities.
Yoshitsune with Hassou Tobi, Arms Master and then all elemental immunities (regenerate 3 if you want, but you can just add another elemental immunity instead of that=

Yoshitsune has charge naturally
Yes, but if you want the “perfect” Yoshitsune and he only has the move Hassou Tobi and mostly likely he has immune, repel and drain stats, or either he’ll get arms master.
It’s best to use Odin like what he said in the tutorial. Using Charge and Heat Riser is much better than Yoshitsune having Charge.

You don't get any warning when it happens, they will stun you and do an all-out attack. This mostly happens if you don't deal enough damage

I used drains for more survaivability as I wasn't covering all elements
I grinded by spam killing the reaper
They kicked my ass,so i use just joker and win,but it took me 30 mins approximately to beat them.
How did you get the 10+ in every stat?
Joker can equip two items that give +5 in all stats (each)
Ranged weapon: Nataraja
To get this, you need to itemize Metatron
Accessory: Crystal Skull
To get this, you need to itemize the treasure demon Crystal Skull
Equip both and you get +10 in all stats (plus a bunch of extra perks). Hope this helped

Yeah something like that. If you use your party members, you can use Yusuke to buff Evasion and Morgana to debuff Accuracy and it will become difficult for the twins to actually hit you
Well,maybe i was too late but,u can inherit skill by strengthen the persona u want to get the skill,and strengthen it with the persona with skills that u want to inherited,the results are RNG,so when u dont get the skill u want,just load your data and strengthen it again untill u got the skills u want.

non dlc player should stick to Yoshitsune and level up STR agi and LUCk as much as possible for hard or merciless. Up to 90. Them using metatron handung you get + 5 on all stats for the MC.

The difference that level makes is lower hp/sp, with the right skills everyone do that though
Actually, i think you may at least have to deal a respectable amount of damage every few turns or else they get bored, knock you down with an unnamed attack and end it there.
It was incredibly annoying and frustrating for me.

Here is some tips that I learned from fighting the twins:
1. Build your support Persona with innate Null/Repel/Absorb gun. Your Yoshi can be built to absorb all kind of attacks, but not gun. Also, gun can crit (with alarming high rate in this fight), and once it does, you're done.
2. Your support Persona should have Masukunda. This will make your life much easier. I tried Heat Riser, but somehow Masukunda is a more reliable.
3. Always have Repel Curse on Yoshi. Be it from initial inheritance or gallows later down the road. Yoshi is lucky to have Repel Bless. So, having this will help you a lot in the late game of the fight. Use it to measure how much life they have left.
4. Just to be safe, have another secondary heavy physical dealer Persona with you. But this one should have single target attack like God's Hand or Brave Blade. This would help you keep both at similar health, in case you missed one with your HT.
So why high counter? Isn't there a better skill to put?

I have played many JRPGs,but this boss has to be one of the dumbest I've fought. It left me such bitter taste in my mouth from otherwise amazing game!
I thought it was pretty well designed. Were you underleveled, or did you just not have a persona to counter them? It's only in NG+ so it's pretty much designed around the player having OP personas like Satanael and Yoshitsune.
@@octorust3215 I don't remember what exactly did I mean, but it was probably something to do with the need to have a very specific persona in order to win, forcing you to play only in a certain way. Plus, you had to kill them both simultaneously, otherwise the one left will revive the other to full health, making you feel really depressed, and, somehow cheated.
I don't feel the same way any more, because I killed them many times on merciless, but that comment was written out of pure frustration.
