Your tutorials are amazing. Motion 5 seems to be an extremely capable program. For me it is not intuitive at all. The learning curve is very slow. Can you suggest any simple tutorial to start with. I tried to follow you step by step to reproduce your art, but I would like to understand the program’s logic. Thank you very much for making such a great job and share it.
Thank you. The training that I recommend is Mark Spencer's excellent Ripple Training series - there's nothing better for learning Motion: www.rippletraining.com/product-category/motion-tutorials/
Nice tutorial as usual. But is it possible to have pretty much the same effect with a real text and not a text with shapes ? Like that it could be easily changed. Thx.
@@ComboDrums Interesting effects take a bit of work. You can't always just plug them into the system and expect all the work to be taken care of for you. I'm sorry if this sounds disappointing.
Simon, the ambient inclusion effect is not visible (rectangle build begins about 3:59) for me (even using black and a wider rectangle width). Am I missing a step? My settings and layers look the same as yours. Do I need to adjust the rectangle's (outline selected, sized 2000) position?
Not quite sure why that is but if you'd care to send me your project (support@tokyo-uk.com) I'd be happy to take a look. You must excuse my mumbled pronunciation but it's actually "ambient occlusion" - the light gets "occluded" because it can't escape the corners.
@@SimonUbsdell Hmm... The floor file I used is smaller than the rectangle. I will try again from scratch and if the issue continues I'll send the build. Thanks, for your ramblings on ambient occlusion. Glad to learn about that.
@@SimonUbsdell Don't worry too much about your pronunciation. Actually it was exactly this "ambient occlusion" that made me switch on subtitles... Thanks for this great tutorial!
Thank you!!! You seem to be the only person still making Motion tutorials.
I just love how you pronounce the word 'Floor'. ThX for all the invaluable info over the years. Much appreciated.
Thanks for these motion tutorials!!! Its just you who’s consistent with motion tutorials! Really helpful!
You astound me. The depth of your creativity is amazing.
Thank you for this tutorial. looking forward to many tutorials like this.
Thx for the tutorials, your channel is now a reference for motion 5 tutorials :D

I wish I can be just as creative as Simon. Thank you for the tutorials...The BEST!
That was very impressive! Thank you
Got through it, and glad to do so, thanks so much!!!
Really cool this tutorial.
bravo.
Excellent tutorial, thanks!
Simon, your tutorials are too good not to remind you to make a tutorial "LIGHT" for BMD Fusion.
Thank you. Good idea!
im excited for this one!

Thank you for your prompt reply. I’ve already bought it in App Store.
is there any chance you might do some similar videos for Fusion!? thx, julian
Thanks for another great tutorial. The link to project files is incorrect.
Thanks for pointing that out. It's fixed now.
Nice tutorial as usual.

Like that it could be easily changed.
Thx.
Yes, of course. Why would you think otherwise?
@@SimonUbsdell Because the effect is with a motion path. But is it working with a sequence text too ?

@@SimonUbsdell No problemo.
Your other tutorials often use a text as a source and not a motion path.
So I was asking if we could do the same.

thank you 🙏🏼
Simon, 2 x 128 = 256, not 264 like your video claims. Double check: 1/2 of 512 = 256.
Noice vid.
Amazing... light painting but not light painting
