I was getting ready to ditch the Shield TV Pro over sound sync problems until I watched your video. This is the only place I have found any reference to the issue. A couple of quick adjustments ended two or three months of frustration. Thank you so very much for your time and guidance.

Got to tell you, I’m excited about my new outdoor bar setup and I decided to add a TV. So... I need to figure out how to get content. I decided on the shield because of the gaming. REALLY APPRECIATED THIS VIDEO, THANK YOU. Went through the whole thing and it helped tremendously in getting to know how to use the device and the inner workings. Not sure how I would do half the things I would do without UA-cam and people like you who put in he time and effort. Hi Lee Thanks for your video! Everything worked great for a year, but with the update to Android 11, it seems that SBMC no longer has a network connection! Of course the Shield is connected to the internet, only Kodi 17.6 can not connect. Is there a simple fix? Thanks a lot!

I am no nooby in stuff but certainly far from an expert in anything, so I'll be using this guide of you soon. Bought a Logitech K400 Plus keyboard with mousepad and read mixed results about it but overall most people loved it on the Shield and worked fine with the USB receiver.

Connected storage is automatically connected as “removable storage” and SHIELD can read and write directly to the storage device. Apps and app data cannot be installed on “removable storage”. The above text is from Shield user guide. So why then do we still have to format drive to use only for playing media on a connected drive?

Hi, how do you use the voice search with this setup, with the new nVidia shield remote and your recommended SPMC? The voice search is activating the Google assistant command when trying to voice type at the keyboard screen in the video apps (in SPMC v17.3). I've set mine up and I do have a few questions and it would be great to get your opinion please. 1) I'm in the UK so a lot of my live IPTV with sports is 25 or 50fps. Currently my display is the default 4k 59.940 Hz HDR 10 Ready. There is also the option for 60Hz, 50Hz, 23.976hz and 1080 59.940. Would it be better for me to set mine to the 50hz setting so the conversion from 25/50fps is easy? 2) I've installed the refresh app and set Netflix to default to 4k 23.976hz each time it starts, would you say this is the best option? If I use the auto refresh on the refresh rate app when viewing live TV I find the channel goes black each time after a few seconds whilst it's matching the frame rate to my TV as I scroll the channels. Do you know a better way as it soon becomes annoying it refreshing every time I change a channel. I'll be watching some more of your videos today to get some tips.

Hi Lee. I am a big fan of yours. I successfully installed Titanium to my Nvidia Shield TV pro 2019 by following your guided instructions. Still working flawlessly. I just purchased a 2nd Shield just last week in May 2022 but am unable to install SBMC after downloading the APK because each time I tried to install using install from zip file, there is a pop up indicating remote only because there is no internet connection but it is using ethernet and working. How do I resolve this issue to continue with the install? Thanks for your help. Ricardo
Go to the settings cog on the top right of the shield home screen. Click it, then click on device settings, scroll down and you will see reset. Click it and reset the shield back to factory settings.
@@Valentine828 , yes this setup will work on any shield device. The only difference on the older Shield's (pre 2019 version) is the remote control is different and there is no AI upscaling in the menu settings. This video can however be followed step by step to setup any Nvidia Shield.
I have had the NVidia shield for a few years, and seem to have trouble with apps - first, once installed, they do not show up on my regular app list; I find them eventually somewhere. And I have a lot of difficulty getting the movie/tv shows to play - when I hit play I see a circle going around and around for minutes, most of the time never going into the program. I also have a lot of difficulty with subtitles either not working are badly synced. I have very good internet speed, the box is right next to the tv and is a hard wire connection. I have little difficulty with my Firestick 4K located in another room. Any advice? Thanks for all you share; it has been so helpful. Keep up the good work!

I got premiumized and I set everything up step by step but I keep getting an error message in Gaia after I select a movie or show. It does a quick 2-second search for streams then get a message that says "Gaia: Stream Failure, no stream found". Anyway to resolve this?

Thanks for this great video. You convinced me to buy the shield pro which arrives this week. One question if I may. I have some of my home videos on a usb HD, how can I get these to play thru the shield w/o it reformatting the usb HD and erasing all my videos? Thanks again.
You need to plug the hard drive in and tell the shield to use it as external storage instead of internal storage but I always recommend that you put your videos onto more than one drive first before plugging it into multiple devices just so you have backups. Losing important home videos would be terrible.
It really depends on your usage case. If you watch a lot of 720p and 1080p movies then the AI upscaling is a nice addition. If not you can just buy the new remote by itself from Nvidia and use it with your current Shield.
Hey dude I was wondering if you could help me. I'm having sound-issues with my Shield. Either my Amazon/Netflix apps are in sync, but then live sports like the wwe app are out of sync audio/video wise, or it's the other way round. I can't seem to have it all in sync. Really disappointing for something thaty costs £200
Thank you very much for your excellent down to earth instructional video. I have found this to be extremely helpfull and am enjoying all that my shield can do. However sometimes mid film or while watching my subscribed iptv the shield switches off and goes into reboot mode. This is very annoying as you can imagine. Ive contacted Nvidia by email but have not had a response. Have you or any of your subscribers had similar issue and how to overcome this Thanks again SB
This is not a common problem. I'd try a factory reset first and then only install apps from the play store and use it for a while. If you don't get any reboots while watching Netflix, pluto tv, etc... then I'd say it's possibly your iptv app that is causing an issue... If you still get reboots on standard apps like Netflix etc... most likely there is an issue with your shield itself. If it is new I would return it to the store you bought it from and exchange it for a new one. If it is under a year old but no longer covered by the store for exchange call up Nvidia on the phone and tell them the issue. They should send you our a replacement device. Just make sure you tell them it randomly reboots when watching apps from the play store, if you talk about iptv or other apps of the sort they will just tell you that it could be the app itself.
The Shield unfortunately does not let you change the background. It's one of the things I wish they did let us do but as of now you can't unless you install entirely new launchers which is a whole other video and quite a bit of work to just get a different background.
I been wanting to ask you, what iptv service do you use or recommend? Ive tried a couple of trials but i want something that shows all ppv eventa and has a nice guide line up
what is the shield and whats it for? my windows is not allowing kodi to work the last few months.. it appears as though the actual KODI app is in safe mode, the curser is very large. would this help?

Hard to say what the issue is 100% , it is always worth trying a factory reset first just to see. If you still can't connect to the internet after a factory reset then the issue is the hardware and you would need a new device.
Whenever I use the microphone to search in play store, cinema, Syncler, etc. all I get is I do from other apps like UA-cam and not a search for content in the app I’m in. What am I doing wrong?
Hi dude, thank you for your great videos. Can I search a specific type of movies, series or titles using Alexa? For example, using the Fire TV Stick or Fire TV Cube I can tell to Alexa: "Alexa, suggest me some comedies films", "Alexa, suggest me a cool action film" and Alexa show a list of specific comedy or action titles. Is that possible with this Nvidia Shield Pro?

you can use easy fire tools to transfer apps as well and u dont need to install it on shield just your phone

To begin this process...I assume it's just more than rebooting Shield...do u have to clear out something to begin fresh?

Are there any tips or fixes for the Audio going out of sync on the Nvidia Shield TV Pro (box)? The Audio video sync option in the Advanced sound settings hasn't worked for me.
Thanks for this great video. You convinced me to buy the shield pro which arrives this week. One question if I may. I have some of my home videos on a usb HD, how can I get these to play thru the shield w/o it reformatting the usb HD and erasing all my videos? Thanks again.
You need to plug the hard drive in and tell the shield to use it as external storage instead of internal storage but I always recommend that you put your videos onto more than one drive first before plugging it into multiple devices just so you have backups. Losing important home videos would be terrible.
I have the old shield that I love and use every day. Is the new one worth buying to replace the old one?
It really depends on your usage case. If you watch a lot of 720p and 1080p movies then the AI upscaling is a nice addition. If not you can just buy the new remote by itself from Nvidia and use it with your current Shield.

Hey dude I was wondering if you could help me. I'm having sound-issues with my Shield. Either my Amazon/Netflix apps are in sync, but then live sports like the wwe app are out of sync audio/video wise, or it's the other way round. I can't seem to have it all in sync. Really disappointing for something thaty costs £200
Thank you very much for your excellent down to earth instructional video. I have found this to be extremely helpfull and am enjoying all that my shield can do. However sometimes mid film or while watching my subscribed iptv the shield switches off and goes into reboot mode. This is very annoying as you can imagine. Ive contacted Nvidia by email but have not had a response. Have you or any of your subscribers had similar issue and how to overcome this

This is not a common problem. I'd try a factory reset first and then only install apps from the play store and use it for a while. If you don't get any reboots while watching Netflix, pluto tv, etc... then I'd say it's possibly your iptv app that is causing an issue... If you still get reboots on standard apps like Netflix etc... most likely there is an issue with your shield itself. If it is new I would return it to the store you bought it from and exchange it for a new one. If it is under a year old but no longer covered by the store for exchange call up Nvidia on the phone and tell them the issue. They should send you our a replacement device. Just make sure you tell them it randomly reboots when watching apps from the play store, if you talk about iptv or other apps of the sort they will just tell you that it could be the app itself.

Awesome video tutorials! i had to reset my shield cuz it was stocked on boot load. How do you change the background picture?
The Shield unfortunately does not let you change the background. It's one of the things I wish they did let us do but as of now you can't unless you install entirely new launchers which is a whole other video and quite a bit of work to just get a different background.

what is the shield and whats it for? my windows is not allowing kodi to work the last few months.. it appears as though the actual KODI app is in safe mode, the curser is very large. would this help?
Hi mate, set it all up following your guide to the letter, seemed to work excellently but switches itself off randomly, only had it 72 hours, any suggestions

Hard to say what the issue is 100% , it is always worth trying a factory reset first just to see. If you still can't connect to the internet after a factory reset then the issue is the hardware and you would need a new device.

Hi dude, thank you for your great videos. Can I search a specific type of movies, series or titles using Alexa? For example, using the Fire TV Stick or Fire TV Cube I can tell to Alexa: "Alexa, suggest me some comedies films", "Alexa, suggest me a cool action film" and Alexa show a list of specific comedy or action titles. Is that possible with this Nvidia Shield Pro?
