I think that a lot of unhealed people run away because they don't want to become better versions of themselves. They prefer the status quo of addictions, mediocrity, or worldliness.
That doesn't mean that a woman still doesn't want to be protected by the man she loves. She may be able to look at her own character defects that shark coming. She may work on herself, but if they're walking down the street someone tries to hurt her. I sure hope the man of my love will protect me as best as he can
