Also, credit goes to Chris for recording all of the good shots from his GoPro cam.

Is there any chance I could find the GPX file or description of the route online? That way we could ride this route even though we can’t make the October schedule. Thank you! Looks awesome :)

Sorry but the event organizers only share the route for those who sign up. I'm not aware of any gpx files online but the event is coming up soon so sign up if you can. Thanks for watching!

Hey there. What would be your opinion about taking my son with me as a passenger in this same ride? He's 10, weighs around 90 pounds. I'm 5'8, around 150. We'll be on a Dr350. My motorcycle experience is almost 20 years, but off-road, pretty novice .

Hello, this ride should be fine to ride with your son on the DR. Most of the trails are forest service roads with a few mild water crossings. I've seen big GS bikes do this ride with passengers. Only caveat is weather conditions and ruts caused from heavy rains which can happen overnight but there's plenty of space on most of these roads to pull over and scope out before riding. Theres also a good amount of pavement riding. I rode most of the trails with my daughter on the back of my KTM 790 ADV R and she weighs a little over 100lbs. With 20 experience riding and some off-road you should be fine since it's a lighter bike with ability to turn around if you see parts of the trails that you don't like. There are some rocky sections where both of you might need to stand. Hope this helps and enjoy!

how are you liking the ktm? any issues? I really like the bike but leaning towards Africa twin or tenere because of reliability.

I'm having a blast on the 790r. First KTM I've owned - had it for almost 1.5 years now and it's as fun to ride since the day I rode it from the dealer, exciting ride to say the least. Over 5k miles, mostly off-road with lots of drops. Zero reliability issues so far. The only issues I experienced were due to damage from a crash (front rotor damage and replacement) and tire installer damaged my rim seal on the tubeless rear tire. I chose it due to its weight, off-road capability, and electronics. The electronics offer road safety features that I wanted since I have to ride to my off-road destinations. My cousin just bought the Africa Twin DCT and loves it. Great reviews on the T7 too so those are excellent choices. Depends on what is most important to you and I suggest you consider weight if you plan on riding off-road. You are doing the right thing checking in with people who have ridden those bikes. Consider the 890r too. Good luck!

@@theEHWAZ Thanks for the reply, and yeah, I have been looking around and asking everyone. It's a hard decision to make. Glad to hear bikes running great though.
