    looks amazing this one, i'd be all over this if i was over there - watching from England and this is somewhat reminiscent of our forest riding, wet, slippy, muddy and rocky 🙂 heart goes out to all those in NC right now

    I've been saying for years that the south east needs some love from the BDR community. I've been riding north alabama, north Georgia, western NC for years. Love it up there!!!

      the Smokey Mountain 500, South East Adventure Trail and Georgia Traverse exist. Excited to check out this Chattahoochee route but it doesn't have to be "BDR" to be a great adventure route

      I live in Birmingham and have ridden all over alabama. Unfortunately Alabama does not have the quality or quantity of “BDR roads” to make it a destination for motorcyclists. But North Georgia is amazing. I’m still discovering great roads after decades of riding. Unfortunately nothing east of the Mississippi River compares to the quality and quantity of motorcycle roads out west

    Kirk is the consummate tour guide. His knowledge of the area - not just the routes, but the stops and the history - made this film so compelling. The photography and the editing was superb. It's amazing what those bikes can do! There's something very special about North Georgia. It was always one of my favorite places to ride.

    Glad to see more BDR work in the southeast. The route looks amazing. As a warning, if you see a turtle with a long tail and beak like the one in this video, it's a snapping turtle and can break bones with it's bite. This one looks like a baby though.

    Nice film as usual, and I'm glad the Southeast is now on the map, BDR-wise.
    We don't have the mile-high Rocky Mountains, nor the sandy deserts, but North Georgia and the Carolinas hold a special beauty all their own.

    As someone who has lived in central Georgia for a little more than a decade, this was desperately needed; but we need more.
    There is virtually no good adventure or dualsport riding anywhere except north Ga. I'm too far away to go find all of those spots. I need logged routes that I can go experience.

    Great video and route. Look forward to riding it next year. Can this be run on a 505/50 tires or is a more aggressive tread pattern needed?

    • @jesshofherr
      @jesshofherr Місяць тому +2

      50/50 would be fine if it’s not super sloppy wet and you’re familiar with slick mud. I was running Motoz Tractionator Rallz on my R1200GS - they performed great with grabbing embedded rocks and even grippy in the flat wet clay. Keep in mind the tires aren’t the deal breaker, but your skill level and experience in slimy rocky claybed terrain will determine your success (no matter the bike).

      Hi Scott...as wonderful as some of the big bikes are you can ride just about anything with tall suspension and good tires on the BDRs. I have ridden my humble WeeTwoFiddy CRF Rally cross country on TransAmerica Trail, parts of several BDRs in the process of TAT, WYBDR, MABDR and beyond. A used Japanese dual-sport moto can be had for a fraction of the price of the big bikes yet still get out there. Go get you some BDR...it is good for the soul. Best wishes. ~ MewZiKat of TN mtns
