A couple clarifications:
1. APR and Unitronic both offer 4.0T tunes as well. I didn’t mention either as they don’t have ethanol support at this time
2. John Banks has quite the resume. Cobb/GTR stuff/MHD flasher. Didn’t mean to just make it sound like he was some dude from the internet.
3. DS1 modifies the ECU to work around some TCU issues, it doesn’t just leave you out to dry.
And ds1 doesn’t need to be plugged in unless you want dynamic ethanol content adaptation for a full flex fuel tune or are wanting to log while you drive.

Any tunes offered by those the 2 companies you mentioned for the RS7 turbo swap?
I have downpipes, getting turbos, just don't know which route to go. . . Potentially maybe doing a clutch upgrade if mine bad (in shop now)

Great video! I went the DS1 route about three months ago before the IE tune was released (C7 S6). I'm very impressed with the IE tune, but I will say that a huge benefit of DS1 is the fact that all stages/files are included at that initial price point. No paying for an upgrade to Stage 2/3/4 etc. Which is nice. And its easy to switch between files. But your IE stage 1 tune does looks stronger than my base DS1 tune. Seems like you can't really go wrong either way!
Well, you could argue that the higher price point of DS1 offsets the tune upgrade cost from IE. I would imagine it adds $150-200 total to the price to unlock all tunes once they’re publicly available, but definitely see where you’re coming from!
I agree, ds1 is the way to go. While the price point is higher if IE is like the tunes for my s4 you will pay more for stage 2 and even more for stage 3 rs turbos. While it will be $100 less than ds1 you get all the tunes, map switching, data logging and ability to modify the tunes yourself with tuner pro if you desire also having a custom tune for your specific car,mods and climate.
Man, that's insane! It's hard to believe that's just stage 1. I can't wait to see what this monster does at stage 2.
Love seeing the s6 changes in performance with the different tunes/fuel. I totally look forward to some E85 and launch control times. Let's get some 10 sec quarter mile times!

I’m from Utah. Integrated engineering is an AMAZING company. As a newer, but definitely educated Audi owner and enthusiast, I was under the assumption that this was a company with pedigree. my Audi has 245,000 miles and it’s still running hard af!!!!!!
Had an IE tune on my B8.5 S5 - loved it. Just traded up for an Audi icon - a 2015 RS5 with super low miles. I know there’s not much beyond factory but I’d love if IE could do something for the ECU or DSG.

The way John handles business is top notch. I was running IE for my B8 S4 and was pretty disappointed when they just stopped development for it and only offered the updated tune for the B8.5s. Promises that it would be done never happened until recently I got an email saying they had updated the file that I think didn’t worked out so good from what I saw on the FB group. Being able to go from 91 to 93 to E85 without having to plug in a laptop is something pretty sick DS1 offers plus if you pair that with BTRES display it’s awesome! Don’t have to worry about swapping between files. Also thought it was a must have to upgrade the fuel lines going from the passenger side to driver side fuel pump as that line is very small. One more thing since I’m rambling lol I’d be interested to see what they come out with for stage 2 and 3. Definitely would love to see more options in the platform since SRM really is the only player in the game for parts right now. Love the videos keep doing what you’re doing 👌🏽

@@hikeskool I can confirm that DS1 is a killer product and their customer service is amazing like you said. Ultra-responsive which is rare in automotive aftermarket
@@hikeskool yes, the car drives like stock until you put your foot into it and then it’s a whole new animal. Just at stage 1. I have the SRM long tubes ready to install and go to stage 2 next week as well. I like that I can reflash to stage 2 without paying another fee or taking it to a shop. BoostedEuro TCU tune will be next.
Man that thing can move... screw going stage 2 on my A6 im saving for an S/S7
FYI ds1 does not have to remain plugged in for e85. You can manually change the mixture for what your running. Also a plus of keeping it plugged in is the 2 screens of virtual gauges, touch map switching, and graph screens. Just saying
Im currently on Unitronic but im looking into IE for extra features and E85 map. How does it run with E85 honestly? Any HPFP? Ethanol sensors? Compared to 93. Thanks man, love your vids!

Got my s3 ie stage 1 ecu and tcu 3.9 0-60 and 12.15 quarter mile at 115.

That’s the Lynn Marsh Road if you launch in the left lane prolly knock 3-4 tenths off.
So quick question for you, how is the long term drivability of this do you feel? I know doing anything such as a tune will descrease longevity, but if you don't get on this all the time could this have close to stock reliability?
I'm considering getting this tune for my S6, and I'm wondering how it affects the different driving modes. Are the regular Drive and Sport modes effectively the same after the tune or are there still differences?
BTW, I'm scraping IE for DS1. IE is GREAT, but for what I'm planning for my S6 IE doesn't cover. But I can't say a bad word about IE. they do ROCK

Have you yanked the turbo oil screen yet, or done the JHB relocation kit? That's next for me as a preventative measure before tuning.

Why is the transmission shifting at 6K and below?
Always wondered if i should've gone with IE, however i was kind of scaptical on the fact that you just throw a universal flash tune on your car, not saying it's garbage, because its probably f*cking epic, however i decided to bring mine to the most known tuner of my country & they custom remapped my car while on the dyno, so basically every car that comes there gets a custom remap, perhaps in the future i might just make room for the IE one.
I'm so tired of the DS1 cult. I'd be satisfied with buying an IE tune purely to spite the zealots. That being said, I'm buying the IE tune its an added bonus that is also makes my car faster, thanks for the review.

You make an excellent point that people want to justify thier purchase. That can then translate to 'brand loyalty' and it really won't matter of the results as to whom they validate.

I need help with my 2017 s6 c7.5
Recently purchased a 2013 A6 3.0T been trying to figure out what company to go with for tuning. Was just curious of people’s opinion.
An IE tuned A6 just went 10.3. They have a spicy 3.0 tune, it's all I ran on both of my 3.0Ts!

@@kelleycoyne545 - be careful as a new car enthusiast and FB groups. Some are great and some can he very toxic with a lot of biased information.
Have you considered going out to enthusiast tracks days if you have access to that locally? That's a good way to surround yourself in genuine people who live their cars.

My friend ....on the S6 4.0tt can you run E85 with just a re map and no hardware update? Also how much hp can the injectors / pumps make with E85 before either of these Max’s out ?

One of the reason I ask is SRM have a shed load of E85 hardware for the S6 for us to buy...... if you can just map and use E85 why do you need $5000 worth of fuel system “ for E85 “ can anyone shed any light on this before I ruin my fuel system using E85 on my S6 !!!!

If staying on the stock turbos, I can see IE. Once you go RS7 or +4 turbos, I can see DS1/BoostedEuro. Time to prove everyone wrong IE. Tune for bigger turbos and it will be a huge move in this platform.
There will be hybrid support in the near future :) the IE shop car may or may not have a set of hybrids on it right meow....

I contacted them back in January asking if they were gonna add an E85 tune for the B8.5 A4s and they said they haven't started yet things might've changed by then but now I really wanna sell my b8.5 and get a 2014 s6 just because of the tune

SRM is a bunch of pirates. They listed a driveshaft carrier for nearly $500 bucks on THEIR SITE, I got if for $250 from another site............WTF? Anyway, I'm currently running a IE Stage 2...............DAMNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

The 4.0T on FB is so crazy biased and seems like every post about an engine issue also has a negative comment about IE. Annoying for sure and I understand your frustration also with the bias.
Wonder why you would even compare DS1 to IE. IE is a flash tune which are good at but DS1 is a tuning suite which I don't think you understand at all. Basically turns your ecu to a standalone computer and you can control several other outputs that normal flash tunes can not. Please when making a video state you don't understand DS1. It hurts the community.

No one really cares about stage 1. Gets boring after a week. That's when DS1 wipes it's ass with the competition.
DS1 all day. Many more features the IE. john Banks is not some random dude off the internet. This was the lamest review of tuning software I have ever seen. Actually now can’t stand this dude in the video. He has gained himself a new troll.
