I think this set has one of the most impressive mechanical systems ever integrated into a non-technic set. The designer who made this and had it still look like the V-19 was ingenious. It's not just the fact that the tail movement is connected to the wings but also the correct gear ratio had to be found so that the wings had the correct range of motion and endpoints. The fact that the landing gear also moves is just icing on the cake.
A V-19 Torrent would be AMAZING. Even though it would probably have to be about $70 for about 500-ish pieces, imagine it with a good-looking midsection, improved shaping and a modern "sleek" design
11:32 The piston is pulled back when the wings drop, it’s to slow it down because the air needs to be pushed out of the tube, but it doesn’t have enough time to leave the tube, so the air in the tube will push back on the piston until there’s no air in the tube, causing the slower fall.
I added white tiles to the wings as well as some 1x2 printed tiles that have a sun on them. Kinda like the old b52 bombers had paintings on them. It came out pretty cool
The V-19 was also in the Tartakosvky clone wars, really stresses that old phase 1 good guy republic trooper. It would have been so fun to play in a battlefront game, other than this lego set it's like they replaced it with the ARC-170 and no one heard of it again
I got this when I was six years old, and it was my very first Lego Star Wars set. I had Lego before then, yet I had no Star Wars sets and I really wanted them because I had the video game on the Wii. I remember on Christmas Eve of 2009 someone gave me a present and I shook it to see if it was a Lego set, and I will never forget my reaction when I opened it up to see this huge thing. It was so hard to build, I had to get my dad to build it. I was heartbroken when my two year old brother crushed it a few weeks later, and it was only until recently when I rebuilt the ship in its entirety. I partially blame this set, and The Complete Saga, for my absolute love for Star Wars.
The V-19 became my favorite fighter when it premiered in the 2003 clone wars cartoon. But the the clone Y-wing showed up 5 years later and that’s been my favorite Star Wars fighter ever since. But this set...it’s beautiful
I remember having this set and absolutely despised building it. I think I had thought at the time that I messed something up terribly when it was leaning forward so much.
My stupid notifications turned themselves off! But another great video! I made a Slave I review and it will be posted sometime soon! Thank you for the inspiration!
I’ve had this set since 2008 when I got it for Christmas, I really like it nowadays more that it’s a pretty hot commodity now. I made a stand to display it in flight mode. I especially love how all 3 wings are interconnected
Ask MandR: what is your favorite armor for troopers from old republic to final order? Without the mods and coloring because otherwise clones would be the obvious choice.
Glad I got this for Christmas in 2009. I doubt LEGO will remake because of season 7. It wasn't seen in the season, and in the lore V-19 Torretns were phased out by phase 2.
this was one of my earliest sets I've owned, and lets just say, I didn't what i was doing with this. I never got the gear and Technic parts working, cause i was like 7 when this set came out. The nostalgia is strong in this set. I would love to get a remake of this.
Those tubes are called dampers/dampeners. They are quite common in mechanical dynamic systems. They help control the velocity between the two parts they are attached to....in the exact same sense as how a spring controls the distance between parts (as seen in the 7261 Clone Turbo Tank.
This ship is awesome I’d love to see another remake, I got this ship for free with a republic cruiser when I went to buy an AT TE and clone gunship, one of the best hauls I ever got!
I have had this set since 2009 and recently attempted to modernize it. Of course some of the red pieces broke, but Lego replaced most of them for free, and the ones they did not I repaired with crazyglue. I tried to make a few Technic contraptions to remove the pistons, but the wings are too heavy and the gears skip teeth. I could maybe try to attach the pistons underneath. Other than that I just tried to make it thinner and more show accurate and added spring loaded shooters.
Built one as a kid, remember finding it somewhat meh. Grew to appreciate it much more when I was older, even after it was disassembled. Watching the TV show probably helped a bit.
The gravity of the top wing is what causes the side wings to fall, the force caused by the compression of the air in the tube acts opposite to the gravity so the wing falls slowly
This was my second Lego Star Wars set. I loved it, it looks awesome and is quite big. Unfortunately when I rebuild it last year about 6 of the red pieces cracked. They got super fragile over time!
Would you want a V-19 Torrent remake? I feel like we were so close to one in 2018, idk what happened to that rumor.
Yeah a bit
MandRproductions Yes I think so
Yes I very much would like to have one
MandRproductions ya I think that would be a very good remake for LEGO to make
hey ryan
Every time I see a v-19 I think of ashoka getting her entire squadron killed
Nice. Rip broadside, matchstick, and tag.
That was the first time we saw R-7 (rip)
Ninja yeah r-7 got shot in the last episode
Bruh you got me dead
"Truly wonderful the mind of a child is"
Man, LEGO could make SUCH a good remake of this if they were to re-release it.
Yes
I agree
Yeah!
And they could charge an extra 50$ for it :D
And thats a fact
I remember getting this set as a kid and losing the will to live while building it
Coomer1739 I hate that feeling.
Same yankee
I rebuilt mine a few weeks ago. I feel that.
It takes freaking forever and the buulding the mechanism even takes longer because I suck at building with technic
Coomer1739 it’s because you were 7 years old at the time... and the recommendation killed u

When the wings are straight across, the clone pilot T poses to show dominance
The empire should have repurposed the design, they would have easily won the war
lol
Bruh
i have self a torrent v 19 and yea i know it is a bit mis leading
@@ratbat1072 they could rename it to the V-19 Devastator
1:55 bruh this summer 2008 art is so nostalgic 😩
ikr
it’s such a sick ship, we definitely need a new one
Jake Doucette heck yeah
Nice misprint
A V-19 Torrent would be AMAZING. Even though it would probably have to be about $70 for about 500-ish pieces, imagine it with a good-looking midsection, improved shaping and a modern "sleek" design
Anyone else miss the “leaked” V-19 torrent a year back
Yeah I remember that it would be so good if it was true
It still bothers me that it never came to be.
For a second I thought this was a remake and I’m like well time to go to the store
Me to dude
In a parrarel universe, your comment is true, but sadly it's not our universe

The pistons aren't as weird as the rubber tubes, and building techniques used in D-0
From this set I really love the way that you open the cockpit, so accurate to the real one
Man that piston design is actually really cool! I wanna see that in a modern set
Worst thing to build
I genuinely thought we needed another V19 torrent like 20 minutes ago, perfect timing 😂
I added white tiles to the wings as well as some 1x2 printed tiles that have a sun on them. Kinda like the old b52 bombers had paintings on them. It came out pretty cool
The coolest set ever
What everyone wants: a V 19-Torrent and other remakes of nice sets
What we got: The fourth X-Wing in 5 Years
This looks like upside down imperial shuttle
Imperial shuttle looked like an upside down v19 torrent
Hi MandR Ilove your vids keep up the great work
i really wanted this set for my birthday when it came out and now im watching a review of it on my birthday all these years later. Neat!
The "pistons" are there to keep the wings from moving too quickly. They're called dampers
The V-19 was also in the Tartakosvky clone wars, really stresses that old phase 1 good guy republic trooper. It would have been so fun to play in a battlefront game, other than this lego set it's like they replaced it with the ARC-170 and no one heard of it again
This Christmas I'm gonna have to ask Mike instead of Santa for some LEGO $et$
PrimeGhost 1 same here 😂 mike is the new LEGO Santa 😂😂😂
lol that's great! XD
I got this for Christmas when I was younger. Biggest set I ever got. Eventually ended up taking it apart and i'm killing myself over it rn.
The v19 is one of my favorite clone wars era ships. Would love to get a remake so I can actually own one.

But this set...it’s beautiful
4:06 the same thing happened to me most of the dark red parts in my v-19 broke
I really wish there is a remastered version of this set
Ryan should have a “beautiful” counter in the corner for how many times he calls a LEGO set beautiful
Petition for lego to remake this! I'd pay $50 or $60, or if it's smaller, no more than $40.
LegoDarthVaderStudio same
looks cool! can’t wait to see the entire review today :)
I remember having this set and absolutely despised building it. I think I had thought at the time that I messed something up terribly when it was leaning forward so much.
You are the best collector I've ever seen
Thousands of your sets are my life's dream
I had this as a kid, I'd love a remake just for nostalgia sake
I remember this being the set that made me start collecting lego and got me obsessive about the Star Wars franchise. Ah good memories
This is such a cool looking set and has so many playability features.
My stupid notifications turned themselves off! But another great video! I made a Slave I review and it will be posted sometime soon! Thank you for the inspiration!
1:36 I once got a chima set for like £15 and it had two instruction booklets and the first one had the advertising of other sets right in the middle
Very neat set from back in the day
I’ve had this set since 2008 when I got it for Christmas, I really like it nowadays more that it’s a pretty hot commodity now.
I made a stand to display it in flight mode. I especially love how all 3 wings are interconnected
lego needs to remake so many clone wars sets, they would be so much better now
This set was actually one of the first sets I got when I was a kid, so nostalgic!
Same!! :)
My childhood dream set :(
This is such a coincidence! I actually rebuild mine from the ground up just last week, after it had been in pieces for about 5 years!
Ask MandR: what is your favorite armor for troopers from old republic to final order? Without the mods and coloring because otherwise clones would be the obvious choice.
I always wanted this set as a kid, it was so cool
Glad I got this for Christmas in 2009. I doubt LEGO will remake because of season 7. It wasn't seen in the season, and in the lore V-19 Torretns were phased out by phase 2.
I wish lego brought back those cool alt builds. man they were cool
this was one of my earliest sets I've owned, and lets just say, I didn't what i was doing with this. I never got the gear and Technic parts working, cause i was like 7 when this set came out. The nostalgia is strong in this set. I would love to get a remake of this.

thanks to the tilted cockpit it's easier to enter or leave ship so personally i like it
I’ve always loved the V-19 although I gotta say it’s a strange design but still cool
This ship is awesome I’d love to see another remake, I got this ship for free with a republic cruiser when I went to buy an AT TE and clone gunship, one of the best hauls I ever got!
I like the lean! It's predatory!
I wouldn't mind seeing a remake of this with modern building techniques.
The landing for the ship reminds me of the imperial shuttle when it lands.
Honestly I loved the clone wars sets and they were one of the best in my opinion
Never seen those tube pieces before. Very cool!
This fighter was shown from the Star Wars clone wars 2003 series before the Clone Wars 2008 series
When I first saw this I was like no WAAAAAAAY this can change into landing pose but know I believe in miracles
Long have I waited, for you to put the V-19 torrent together
71 likes, 49 Comments, But no views? Love it
the v-19 torrent is honestly one of my favorite ships of all time
Nice review
Just picked this baby up the other day. Super psyched for it.
love the review, and the set, wish I wish I had it. I can't wait for the next video.
This was one of my favorite sets from back in the day.
one of my favourite sets ever.
Great video I really want the v19 torrent
I love your vids
Wow, cool review! Love this set! Wanna get it so bad
Same! maybe someday!! :D
SKY REN I can get it for 130 but I don’t have the money at the moment rip
@@TheLegoPorg :(
SKY REN okay, I have a surprise for you... I got it sealed now for 100£, we bought it and I’ll get it for my b-day later this year!
gosh I remember getting this for Christmas back in 2008. Good times
Hey MandR live your vids
Yo Ryan I just got the set from ebay and arrived today. Can't wait to build it it just looks so much fun to play.
I have had this set since 2009 and recently attempted to modernize it. This was one of my first sets, unfortunately, it was missing one of the pieces for the wing, which basically left it broken.
Nobody mike must give to Ryan
The clip on the middle wing is super convenient
those tubes make this an insanely cool design
The gravity of the top wing is what causes the side wings to fall, the force caused by the compression of the air in the tube acts opposite to the gravity so the wing falls slowly
What's up Ryan, love your vids
I also broke one of those pieces, as a kid that set made me cry my eyes out
It's a really good set. I've had it since it's original release. Idk why but multiple pieces from my set broke as well.
Hello, I love your vids great video!
Edit: Omg thanks for the heart MandR!
Why no more heart..
:C
I hate to tell you this but when you edit a comment with a heart it takes it away :(
Mandr: It does look pretty good from the rear though.
Me: That's what she said
LEGO could make a remake of that $60 or $70
I remember getting this back in 2008 🥺
Nice review so far!
I remember this set as a kid! So nostalgic!
That was a good Lego SW year. If they would remake this this would become my regular daily driver.
Such a retro set!
Ah yes, a glorious relic from a glorious Lego star wars era
Only owned one of those, got my first clone pilot in that set
That's awesome
That is the best birthday present to get so jealous 😆
This was my second Lego Star Wars set. I loved it, it looks awesome and is quite big. Unfortunately when I rebuild it last year about 6 of the red pieces cracked. They got super fragile over time!
