disclaimer : This is only for studio users😢
Not sure why that should be a ‘Disclaimer’…?
Anyone can purchase DaVinci Resolve. It’s very affordable and what you get for the one-time payment is incredible.
If anything, this should make users consider paying for the Studio version
@@Daniel_Batal I think The Davinci has the better license system and is very affordable, I'm not making money with that, like most users.
Sometimes when tutorials make you use a studio feature in the middle, it's a pain in the ass for me, a disclaimer helps a lot.
That's not the case because is too short, but I think it's a good politic.
@@Daniel_Batalaffordable my ass 😭
My guy said affordable 💀. Sure it's a one-time. It's worth it. But affordable is not the right term at all lmao. Funny Daniel.@@Nitsua_YT
it was a good disclaimer, I use the free version and was searching for it and wondering if I maybe have another version or something. This saved me some time!@@Daniel_Batal
I love your shorts so much. The features of davinci are amazing and you break it down into easy to digest portions
That is amazing!! I needed something like this for a film I’m doing! Thank you this was perfectly timed!
Awesome. Hope this works out for you
Daniel, I always learn from what you teach, but I have to tell you that these shorts are spot on. I really, really like them. Thank you a bunch!
You’re very welcome 😊
This is a really cool effect that i can use in my next video, thanks
I really need a whole video about these small tricks cause davinci is a big editing software I’m still learning new things even to this day with davinci
I've got them all in a playlist: ua-cam.com/play/PLsVDy3wGxbDA-pvAT1eH2_khEe0lDe90e.html
@@Daniel_Batal What a legend u are thanks!
Please give this man all the internet bucks and coins. He's saving the planet with every clip. Gorgeous stuff. Thank you for teaching us all. It's genius how layered these videos are. Not only are they right to the point-tutorials buy they're also one of the best examples of editing and pacing, voice over work, graphics, panning, zooming. A master class in a moment. Thank you again (this almost sounds sarcastic, but I'm not)
Ha! Hey, thanks! I really appreciate the kind words (sarcastic or not 😅)
Demystifying the magical one Short at a time. This is an amazing tip. Thank you
NOT KIDDING This is actually what i needed... Sir thank you so much.. You are a blessing
Glad it helped!
very nice! Been watching your shorts as I recently switched to Resolve. I learnt a few cool tricks, thank you!
Thanks! Glad these have been useful
Your Shorts channel is now my "go to" second screen as I create more content (went full time last month)
Thanks
Nice!
I’m working on getting these shorts more searchable.
UA-cam doesn’t make that easy
Love these quick easy tips
The magic mask is so crazy powerful. First time I used it my mouth dropped at how accurate it was.
Very accurate. Even with my head of curly hair it was fairly accurate and I could have dialed it in more.
Everything I showed was just from that initial mask scribble, no tweaking
Gotta be one of the best tips yet!
Very cool Daniel
Another cool one! I need to step my editing up 😅
I always learn something new with your videos. Thank you very much! 👍👍👍
My pleasure!
So loving these YT Shorts
Thanks, Sue ❤️
Keep them coming good sir
These are amazing! Thanks
Glad you like them!
good stuff mate Thank you
Daniel, this is awesome!! Can you also do a video series on your start to finish in editing? From importing clips, to prepare my them for their timelines, effects, etc. This would be a VERY HELPFUL series to mirror what the pros are doing
My editing? It would be too confusing for most because I use a speed editor and a lot of features a lot of folks either don't have (paid version) or haven't used yet.
I think that's a good suggestion but I'll probably have to wait a bit for the community to all get caught up on the basics first.
@@Daniel_Batal I understand you’re very busy. Personally I struggle with organizing all my footage as I like to jump right in and start editing what I have without scrubbing through clips. Will continue to watch your content as I always learn something!
Soooo cooooool ! Thanks !
Really cool
So dope!
Amazing! Love how easy and fast you manage to explain the steps. Can I also use this to mask a different photo or video on the object?
Yep!
Very cool😎
Love this one
Lots of uses for this particular mask 😁
thats a slick trick. thx for the posts. I am a DR NOOB and need all the help I can get
My pleasure 🙂
damn, that is pretty cool, thank you.
This one has a lot of uses but that smart select and easy one-click tracking is pretty amazing.
Great tutorial! Once again.... Thank you?🔥❤️
Bro thanks a lot!!
You're welcome!
Amazing
Awesome 👏
So cool❤
Love this guy
❤️☮️
I'm just frustrated from nodes, it's new, and hard for new editors 💁but i love it
This might help: ua-cam.com/video/XZcu0CVcQsQ/v-deo.html
this option is not available in free version right
Correct. I’m using Studio version 18.5 BETA
oh wow i can background blurr to using this feature and make my Go Pro look like COstly camera lol hahaha amazing
A good tip, but could have mentioned that this feature is paywalled and you need to pay for the studio version to access it. So people with free copies of the software don't get frustrated.
I mention frequently that I’m using Resolve Studio 18.5 BETA.
If you really like this feature and you realize you don’t have it?
You should be making a note that it might be yet another reason to purchase a license
Black and white daniel is young...😂
Awesome tip. Filmor can't do that. Lol
I just started with DaVinci, dear would you make one tutorial on how to move around on the computer screen video?
That's all keyframing ---> ua-cam.com/video/p1KRLgHw8LY/v-deo.html
Cool!
Hi! Can u plzzzzz answer some questions!!??
1)how good is magic mask compared to after effects roto brush?
2)Did you get the studio version free with speed editor?
3)how much did the studio version cost?
1) Better
2) Yes, $395 for both through B&H Photo
3) The studio version alone is $295
Nuts
nice, so can you use the same process to replace greenscreen?
A litle more complicated than this but yes, absolutely.
Very cool! Is that available with the free version?
I believe this is only in the Studio version
This is legit!
Nice. Is that also possible in filmora?
Nope.
I’m curious if you have tried refining the mask so that your hair is keyed accurately. I’m busy with a project where coincidentally the subject has hair that looks like yours and it’s proving a bit difficult refining the mask on the subject and hair
Hair like mine is tricky. Works much better on a white background
Is there a way to reverse this?
Yes. You can invert the selection
how can you change the opacity of the masked area?
Any asset opacity can be adjusted in the Edit page.
If you add an alpha output you can “remove” the selection correct?
Yup.
Thank you for the video, what is the best alternative in the free version to track a person (so I can remove him after or remove tha background). I've read about the pen tool but it's time consuming because I should track the person frame by frame, because if the person is moving (raising his hands for example) the automatic tracking won't track it.
Great question. The free version doesn't have a lot of tracking features. They've put most of those in Studio
@@Daniel_Batal thank you very much
Is this available in the free version or is it only on the paid one?
I’m using Resolve Studio 18.5 BETA
How can I do it in non studio version? The masking does't track it perfectly 😖
Keyframe it
Is magic mask part of the studio version??
Yep. I'm using Resolve Studio v18.5 BETA
@@Daniel_Batal is there a way to do that on the free version
after you mask if yopu make any changes it keeps erasing the track meaning i have to retrack each time. is there something i missed? this makes magic mask super annoying
Interesting. It didn't for me but I'll have to check that out!
So if I color graded a video.. but woth that over exposed the clouds and air. Would this be the best way to select the air and exclude that bit from my nodes of collor correction/ grading? Or would you suggest a different way?
That's definitely a common way to do that, mask tracking an area and color grading that portion of a moving clip.
@@Daniel_Batal then ill consider the studio version :)
Coll
can you use this in the free davinci version?
No
Is it also possible to use the magic mask for effects, like edge detect?
Yes. It's a bit more complicated but you can absolutely do it.
@@Daniel_Batal thanks dude
In order to do the reverse of that, would you try to magic mask everything but you or is there a way to invert the filter?
Do you have Resolve Studio and have you tried using this feature yet?
@@Daniel_Batal I have the free version. I'm guessing this is a studio/ pro feature, huh? I've been using Resolve for some basic video creation, but I'm trying to expand.
how can we use this sort of feature in da vinci resolve 18.5 free? I guess this is the feature available in studio version only...
For future reference of all content currently from my channel, I'll always be using the most recent version of Resolve Studio
Gonna start at tip 1 and go through the entire thing
Is there a way to do this in the free version?
This feature is only available in the Studio version. I'm currently using Resolve Studio version 18.5 BETA
sir i am tamilnadu India you edting super please vfx show this software 🔥
is ist available in the free version or do i have to buy davinci???
It’s a Studio feature
@@Daniel_Batal so it is not available in the free version ?
Just a heads up for free users, this is a Studio only feature right now.
Heads up to new community members, I’m using Resolve Studio 18.5 BETA.
I’ve said it frequently but I’ll continue to remind people as a point of reference
@@Daniel_Batal thanks for the heads up! I'll update my install.
But with any clip that has a magic mask, you won’t be able to do any transforming (Zoom, position, rotation angle, etc)😢
Yes you can. Turn it into a compound clip.
Hello, please does these AI effects work offline, or with an internet connection.?
This particular feature doesn't rely on an internet connection.
@@Daniel_Batal thank you Sir
I don’t have Magic Mask. Is it because is the free version :((
Most likely. I'm using Studio version 18.5 BETA
@@Daniel_Batal hope it willbw avilable in next update
Sir I am not getting "magic mask" tool. Also I am using davinci resolve 19. Where is it actually, please help.
Are you using the Studio version or the free version?
@@Daniel_Batal I am using the free version. Ohh! Is it in the studio version?
Yep! That might be why you don’t currently have it
Is this in the paid version only?
I'm using Studio version 8.5 BETA. I think (?) this might be only available in the Studio version but I'd have to confirm that
@@Daniel_Batal ok, I appreciate it...
Is it available in normal fre virson or only in studio version?
I'm using Resolve Studio 18.5 BETA
@@Daniel_Batal so that means this features is not avalable in free version. am i currect sir ?
Correct.
@@Daniel_Batal my bad luck 😅. Okay just one more question. If I buy devenchi resolve studio version 18. And after that if they lunch version 19 or 20, do i still have to buy that too?
Is that also in free version?
I’m using Resolve Studio 18.5 BETA
only paid version right?
Correct. I'm using Resolve Studio 18.5 BETA
Its not available for free version? 😢
I'm uysing Resolve Studio 18.5 BETA
@@Daniel_Batal yea the magic mask is not avalible for free version..maybe can u make a vid on how to do the same thing on the free version?
Its not showing for free version guru...
I’m using DaVinci Resolve Studio 18.5
I am thinking about switching from filmora.. It seems like a lot more features and better
Far more features. Just make sure your system can handle the software. motionarray.com/learn/davinci-resolve/davinci-resolve-system-requirements/
@@Daniel_Batal ty
Its Studio feature, right? Would be great to mention it everytime.
I’ve thought about it but that’s such a moving target that I’d have to run two systems, check every option every time, mention the separate versions when the feature was introduced… it’d take 15 seconds just to do that and then I’d make people feel ostracized.
I’d rather just show options in the most recent version and if you don’t have it, it might help you to decide if it’s worth upgrading
I dont think a noob will buy studio
This noob did.
It doesnt seem to work well for me 😒. As soon as my subject moves a little bit during the interview the mask goes all over the place. Any idea how to fix it? The subject was doing an interview so its not like he was moving too much
You can manually adjust the tracking
@@Daniel_Batal im very new to davinci i dont really know how. I clicked better then refined it as much as i could but still same issue
No all have magic mask 😅
I'm using Resolve Studio v. 18.5 BETA. (you should too 😁)
@@Daniel_Batal in free version there is no Magic Mask
I disagree with the "for noobs" part. I'm not a noob, but I still find your tips valuable.
I’m the noob 😁
Do you have a node's video but talk like the viewer is a 4 year old? Lol
I'm so dumb with nodes.
Yup-> ua-cam.com/video/XZcu0CVcQsQ/v-deo.html
