  • Indoor Free Flight Action - Part 1 | British Model Flying Association (BMFA) Centenary
    Some interesting free flight action from the first event of the year celebrating 100 years of the British Model Flying Association (BMFA). Thanks to the organisers for the invite ! My first time seeing free flight models in action so thanks to those that talked to me and shared their knowledge.
    This event was supported by BMFA South Midlands Area, High Wycombe MAC and Hemel Hempstead MFC and West London MFC. Thanks to BMFA for inviting us to film at this event.
    Filmed by Dom Mitchell at the High Wycombe Leisure Centre for the Essential RC UA-cam channel using the Panasonic AG-UX180 Pro 4K camcorder

    Delightful. Our local club has one indoor event a year, and I wish there were more.

    That's once of the few real advantages that you folks in the Old Dart have over us out here in the sticks in the Colonies, Dom - access to events like these. Lots of work gone into those but the results speak for themselves.

      Indeed ! Quite awesome to see these little models in action. Part 2 video is even better. Free flight helicopter in that one !

    Crikey!
    We need elastic tech landing systems instead of 6 Axis.

    Sadly, in Canada, you can’t get dope for the tissue paper anymore I think they still have it at airports for the big planes

      @@EssentialRC We have a similar event at Impington near Cambridge this Sunday from 9 to 5 as a BMFA 100 event. Expecting quite a big turn out.

    For an utter newbie is there a ready to fly version of any of these craft? Or any tips or advice how to to get one that flies as brilliantly as these?

    • @EssentialRC
      @EssentialRC  Рік тому

      No unfortunately. My advice would be to look at the Microaces range. The Scrappe is especially quick to assemble and flies very well. ua-cam.com/video/ktLLljxr0b4/v-deo.html

    Where could I begin, a hobby shop?

    • @EssentialRC
      @EssentialRC  4 місяці тому

      If you can find one. If you want to build a scale indoor RC then look at the kits available from microaces.com

    Fantastic! Too bad I live in Florida were no one is allowed to use a school property for any reason. I grew up in Louisville and my wife in Montreal and both places treat school yards like parks and if you ask you can use the gym. But not in Florida, aka The Stupid State!

    Free flight takes too much skill, that's why I fly R/C.

    • @robambrose4199

      No, it's easier, you let your F1d go, then you come back an hour later after getting some beers and pizza, or have a quick bbq, and it's still going. You can still play with rc planes whilst it's doing it's own thing as it's on autopilot.
