@@godzillasdad Not quite. Clarkson was so proud that he got a Jag S-type diesel around in under 10 minutes, 9 minutes 59 seconds. She said she could do that in a van on Top Gear. In the Transit diesel, the fastest time she could pull was 10 minutes and 8 seconds. Unbelievably fast for a van but she couldn't quite beat it. She did take the Jag around and beat his time by almost 50 seconds though.
The true story of this race is that she is on wet weather tyres whereas almost all of the rest of the field are on dry tyres. This is why she is able to break and accelerate earlier and carry more speed.
To just even out the comments a little. You sure those guys are in the same class? Looks like she's overtaking GT4 class driving GT3 car. The rate of acceleration looks completely different. Some of them even give as if trying not impede a faster car. Maybe she got a penalty so she start at the back while other GT3 cars already far away when she clears the GT4 cars? If not then wow.
Raditya Indera I was wondering that as well. It’s obvious her car is far faster than almost all the competition. I know she is a great driver and knows the track like the back of her hand but her car looks way quicker than almost all the others.
You can see a lot of the cars are GT4, but another comment that I suspect is true, is that there may have been a restart, and she fitted wet tyres, hense she was right at the back of the field when it started again. The way the car turns into the corners would not be possible on slicks, and all other cars are taking the typical wet track - dry tyres lines. Just just a guess
The original video is from the VLN 2014 (Veranstaltergemeinschaft Langstreckenpokal Nürburgring). The race last between 3 to 6 hours and it is similar to the 24hrs of LeMans or 24hrs of Nürburgring, meaning it is a mixed battle of cars in different classes. Frikadelli Racing Team won in their class that day and I think she also made a record as well. Like Schumacher, she's good when wet.
I mentioned that exact thing on another video I saw of her racing. The car in front of her would pull away from her on the straights because he had a faster car, but her corner speeds were much better than his. She made many attempts to pass; sticking her nose along side him entering the corners, but he kept cutting her off at the apex not allowing her to complete the pass. I felt if she pushed too hard, she might have taken him out, and therefore wished to run a clean race and not bump him out of the way. In reality, he should have let her go. Some might say he was just protecting his position but I think he knew that once she passed she would leave him long behind. Since there are more corners on that track than long straights where he had the advantage, he had no chance to keep up with her. Instead he cut her off constantly and didn't allow her to continue on and pass other cars and continue in her move up the line.
@@slayer8actual Yes, she seems to position and brake really late into corners then accelerate rapidly, losing almost no pace. Also her positioning after an overtake seems to close the door, but then she accelerates hard again. She is an excellent driver and I would like to see her in an F1 car.

Watching Sabine drive thru traffic on the 'ring is joy to watch. A "how to" for every aspiring race car driver. a) That she makes it look so darn easy is a tribute to how talented she was. b) Driven with surgical precision if the driver in front left spare inches she was good to go in the pass. Very sad that she left this earth way to soon.
No, look up “gentlemen racers”. There’s a long tradition of amateur racers taking part in racing. They fund the team and 2 drivers. They also get to drive tho.
GT3 through the field of VT2 cars.... yes the 650hp make the 250hp bmws look slow, nothing to do with the driver. She had to start behind the field for a reason... where are her GT3 mates?
Going around the Ring in the BMW M5 Renntaxi, in one hand the steering wheel, in the other a piece of cake and drifting corners with well over 200 km/h telling all kinds of stories. Mindblowing.
No it's a love race, she was passing lower class cars, she didnt actually catch any from her own bar the z4 that spun on the gp circuit right near the start.
@@ldorman I believe she was racing in sp9 which is fully homologated gt3 cars and most of the grid she passed were Sp7 which are still racecars but determined by their engine size and often not backed by as bigger teams 👍🏻 look up vln classes and you will see.
That's 90% pure driving ability, and 10% of driving around the Ring for most of her life. Incredible driving, knowing exactly the limit of her car, and ever twist, turn and corner of the track.

Nice driving but obviously her car was a different league to the others. Also I assume they were briefed there was a fast car on the circuit as several drivers made a good effort to move out of her way (which she acknowledged).
Really?!, if you watched the whole video you would realise that she is not just racing against bmw’s but also other gt3 cars from porsche and even Aston Martin. Its not the car in question thats a different level but in fact the driver
I just held a spoon in my hand for 8 minutes and 46 seconds without eating this ice cream. She has an inch by inch knowledge of that asphalt to drive like that. Beautiful

The rules don't allow that sunbeam, are you afraid of women?......Your avi would suggest you haven't been near one that wasn't your Mum or sister in your short and muddled life.....
Exactly, put her is the same car as people who can actually drive...
On a track as wet as this, a "twice as strong " car would be a handicap, she is out braking them. And this is :
"home track" to hundreds of people. Stop being jealous of a woman driver, just deal with it. She is better than you will ever be. Period.
Miss you forever
Sabine Schmitz.
😥😥😥😥😥😥
Sabine Schmitz name starts with an „S“.
Just like the name Stig. 🤔
🤭
The female stig
@@Peanut3169.2 stig's female cousin
She has two of them just like the SS.
O warte...
Wow! Such a vivid imagination.
What the fuck has that to do with anything
Legend has it..... her biggest challenge when facing the ring under these extreme conditions is staying awake.
I have met Sabine, she is an amazing woman and a fantastic driver that knows this circuit like the back of her hand. The Family have a guest house in the village, I would recommend it as a place to stay if you are in the area. they do fantastic steaks cooked on a hot stone... :-))
Other drivers - 'I can win this'
Sabine - 'hold my beer'
practice session
So funny, not
And there she is, Sabine "You're in my way" Schmitz, for another win. Love watching her, no matter what she is driving.
Sabine is great. I miss here in Top Gear and or the new car show of Jeremy, Richard and James.
Fangio, Stirling Moss, Karl Kling, Hans Hermann, Sabine Schmitz no doubt, she‘s got balls. It‘s a wonderful dream how she drives. I adore her.
She does it without balls; what have they got to with it? Typical comment from a male who clearly doesn’t have any.
Absolute master class! 🔥🔥🔥
Sabine u will surely be miss. The Queen of the track, gone to soon.❤
A gridful of professional racing drivers and she makes it look as if they're just the AI in "easy mode".
Not really, those are mostly rich people with no real racing skills
And she is driving a GT3 car starting at the back of the grid with much slower cars around here, still good to watch though
@@misterlove6225 what? thats pure bs. Rich people are the team owners not the drivers...
Sabine " Eye Can Zooo Zath Thaim in a Vaaan" Schmitz, is the only woman who makes me think of being straight
I do that time in a *ven*!
Die Frau ist einfach nur der Wahnsinn.
Es ist eine große Ehre, mit ihr eine Runde zu drehen.
Seems like she’s overtaking everybody in the warming up lap
DAMN . Super driving. Smooth and yes an expert of the track.
Seems like she is making her place on the grid on the warm up lap(?)!
No it's a love race, she was passing lower class cars, she didnt actually catch any from her own bar the z4 that spun on the gp circuit right near the start.
@@Cafferssss
Lower class cars?
Ford GT
Ferrari F430
a ton of other Porsche GT3s
@@ldorman I believe she was racing in sp9 which is fully homologated gt3 cars and most of the grid she passed were
Sp7 which are still racecars but determined by their engine size and often not backed by as bigger teams 👍🏻 look up vln classes and you will see.
@@ldorman and she proceed to slaughter them driving a BMW 3 serie lol
Looks like she drives with low wings and low gearing in a straight line, and keeping up in the corners if not overtaking them all. She's incredible.
She's not only the Queen of Nurburgring, she's the God of Nurburgring.
That's 90% pure driving ability, and 10% of driving around the Ring for most of her life.
Incredible driving, knowing exactly the limit of her car, and ever twist, turn and corner of the track.
When she passes some of the cars it almost looks like they are just letting her through, as if to say, "We know you are far superior so just go darling."
That's because that is exactly the case. They're in much slower cars. She's in a GT3 car, they're not. She's a very good driver, but whoever posted this doesn't seem to understand what they're watching.
A rare talent. The Top Gear footage in the Transit is right up there with Ari's Pike's Peak effort.
Nice driving but obviously her car was a different league to the others. Also I assume they were briefed there was a fast car on the circuit as several drivers made a good effort to move out of her way (which she acknowledged).
Dallas Reid ...she is the best driver in Germany especially under slippery conditions. Thats all...
Really?!, if you watched the whole video you would realise that she is not just racing against bmw’s but also other gt3 cars from porsche and even Aston Martin. Its not the car in question thats a different level but in fact the driver
Edicate demands that slower cars give way.
What is she driving?
@@duallydriver2 I assume it's an Porsche of some kind, but correct me if i'm wrong
I just held a spoon in my hand for 8 minutes and 46 seconds without eating this ice cream. She has an inch by inch knowledge of that asphalt to drive like that. Beautiful
She knows the track well plus on wet others play safer. I remember when she challenged Hammond on top gear that she can beat his time on this track with a VAN (ford transit)
Clarkson with a diesel Jag S
Yup Clarkson not Hammond. She did loose, barely, but I bet she would crush it in a modern van.
Sublime balancing of axle grip. Truly beautiful stuff.
Far from me the idea to say she's a bad driver, but this wasn't a race at all, just a practice session.
0:18 look on the left, the stands are empty, no people. Races usually bring a LOT of people !
And i don't think other racers will let pass her like this in a real race 😄
Amazing driving skills and the car is beautifully setup .
This is what it feels like to have the settings on easy when you play on a PlayStation.
Brick Island But on a PlayStation you can turn the sound off. Jesus that car sounds like sh!t.
Simply unbelievable, her skills, coordination spot on. Why she Not in F1 I'm mystified, possibly happy with her Porsche, Nurburgring
