I always have a hard time getting the bar to actually touch my chest. I definitely get enough height. I'm going to try the wider grip! thanks for the tip!

I was actually wondering what some of the benefits there are to Kipping Pull-Ups in comparison to the standard. Aside from getting more done in a session. What I find is cool about them is that they're more realistic as far as how a human or most other animals would swing from tree to tree. It's more of a natural primal movement and may transfer into mobility skills like parkour

When I told my doctor that I do crossfit, she made a face. I then had to assure her that I am smart about it.

I don't understand the logic behind making an exercise more "efficient". Can someone explain this to me? in my eyes, if you make an exercise more efficient, it sounds like you want to make it easier, so you can do more reps. Aren't you performing exercises to become stronger, not just so you can do more reps?

@Luke Purse cross fit is an efficient way to be stupid

Efficient for crossfit comps when speed is needed. Crossfit also do strict pullups for building strength as well as a lot of other strength movement....however, we also like speed at times.

@@amyvictoria_moves so why not force everyone to do the strict version at competition to keep it interesting? I mean as long as the playing field is equal it doesn't really matter what exercise you do, so i still don't see the point of doing an easier exercise to see who is fitter.

I don’t think it’s accurate to say that performing exercises is only to become strong. Sometimes it can be for endurance, rehab or explosiveness (to name a few). It all depends on your goals. That’s like saying you should always use the heaviest DBs for example but if someone is trying to get 10-12 reps instead of 4-6 they will use lesser weight. I think it all has its place.
