What we fail to acknowledge in this gender discussions is that there is so much in life beyond our control , a successful marriage is one of them , you can be the best person and it still might not work . We should accept where God has placed us in life and try to be the best and try make the best decisions for ourselves where ever we find ourselves in this journey of life. We will not all have the same journey and there is no specific one right way either a man or woman should live.
Lynn my dear Leo umenifanya nisema when I grow up I want to be like Dr Zippy Okoth,Am 55 years old Lynn and I follow up your shows uko juu sana my daughter,I have adopted you ❤ tell mum uko na mama kwa mtandao
Dr. Zippy Okoth you are an amazing woman. I always met you at a mutual friends' saloon (Anne) and I'm proud of the lady you have become. To be honest, you have lifted my spirit that was shrinking and I feel strengthened. Lynn, thank you for bringing Zippy on board.
Our forefathers were empowered (when the women were housewives), the men failed us by polygamy, violence, drinking and wasteful habits ,that now made our mother's to over prepare the female child for financial and especially highly paying career jobs, once the man fails the family suffer but a woman trained, trains her generation. My paternal grandmother used to tell me that: your job/work/career is your most faithful husband ( because she was in a 6 wives polygamous marriage). Lynn, love you from Nigeria.
You fail miserably to understand your grandmother situation was minority case. That is problem, nothing is 100%. Now, you have more divorces, single mothers and more single women "complaining" where are the good men or that men have "changed" Men are still expected to take leadership in a house, pay dowry, approach a woman, pay majority of the house bills/expenses, buy plot of land, build a house etc. Men roles have remained traditional but women have become "modern". You claim equality but don't want 50/50 responsibility and that is a FACT. Men will NEVER change their "natural" ways that's why women are complaining. Women can NEVER be equal to men, physically and mentally. Majority of adults in prison from prison and court records, college/school drop outs, mentally unstable from hospital records come from single mother homes compared to single father or 2 parent home households. Look it up in Kenya, USA and even UK where divorce rates and single motherhood have increased the past 20 years. Zippy has a PhD but she is divorced and a single mother. Only a FOOL will take relationship advice from her. Women don't want a jobless man and we understand that. You dont see men doing interviews complaining about it. Men don't want a STRONG or masculine woman that is why zippy can't secure long term commitment from men. Men desire youth, don't like obese or fat women that's why older women rarely get approached for long term commitment. I high caliber man will NEVER pick a high earning career woman because they are more disagreeable, less submissive and masculine. Lynn unmarried younger partner will not be long term and even if they get married, it's those minority cases
We live in the village in Kisumu rural and my daughter in college then, some time back drove the dad's car to the market to buy foodstuffs and when she came back, she was like mum.. I had a woman say to another kwa soko that ,huyo amenunuliwa gari na sponsor bwana ya mtu.Its very true even other women's mentality about other women's progress is still wanting especially upcountry.
Don't blame those wamama wa Soko. It was in their rightful place to say that because that's what is happening on the ground 9/10 times ladies going for sponsor's. So even with your hard work you will be mistaken for having a sponsor coz there are other 9 chick's with wababaz so you one person is also put in the same basket coz nobody can differentiate.
I love how she says I want a man who is loving, committal, visionary, financially stable etc. then she is asked and what she is bringing to the table, and she says I am bringing the same!!!! that's mic drop. Girls let's take note. Si kila kitu beauty and sex. Let's match the same energy we want to attract.
Dr. Zippy is one of the women who projects my voice. When I read her book "OOPS Zippy, A diary of a divorced woman" I found confidence to speak up on abuse, to defy all the shame of divorce. She a power woman.
Some guy i tried dating within 3 days the red flags were all over and the statement he made "career women think like you" just because i disagreed with something. I am for lets bring our ideas and settle for the best. But he wanted " i am the head of the house vibe" so everything he said was final. Weuh i told him to get a woman who is not career wise because weuh...i pray i met someone whom will understand me because its a team work not a one man's affair
Zippy is made up of all the amazing valuable metals available in this world . An alloy of greatness . I love her ,I celebrate her . I lost my two mums and Zippy was my inspiration when anyone thought I should get over it . I missed the premier of It is Janam because the memorial send me back to depression but I plan to watch it . This woman is just the real vibe. She inspires me a lot . Go Zippy ,you are a candle that has lit so many candles . Your laughter is in itself a poetic character. You are a gem Jaber

One thing that we need to unravel is that on both side of the aisle is that, we cannot have delayed or hurt women/men come and discuss issues about marriage /relationships soberly as they will both trash the opposite gender and echo positions from a stand point of pain and character development. This is why we had one male dude guest trashing women and a vice versa we are having today where we are tagging males issues as " a cries for validation" or demean grown men by calling them boys when they request for meals that are prepared by their wives. Hamuwezi jua sometimes this request might be because of security reasons/ shield from physical or spiritual irregular entries and not ego or machismo. Hii dunia mtu lazima ajichunge. In conclusion, I am opined to think that ...this are all sentiments emanating from failed/ frustrated engagements or from alumnus/grandaunts of school of character development. Nevertheless, they said that smooth sea does not make good sailors. Lets hear them out.
Just finished watching n listening .Zippy is confident ,well spoken and beautiful smile ,this far she has come is Ebenezer. Can't wait to go watch that movie and thank you for the English subtitles. Will definitely give the feedback .Great content and God bless you .
