It's a great piece of kit. However, where it gets tricky is lifting a steel frame men's mountain bike onto an SUV. It helps if you have folding stool to hand and are 6 feet tall with bulging biceps.
Hello. Yes, a heavier bike on a tall vehicle can be a challenge, however, the technique in this clip can help a lot: ua-cam.com/video/yMDuoEkGN00/v-deo.html Also, when possible, park curbside and lift from curb height to reduce the overall lift. Thanks!
Brilliant video guys. I am sold. I had problems deciding if I really need to go the extra and get this one over the Thule 532 system. I think this one offers so much more for the money over the other cheaper ones from Thule. I just have to get a good price now :) Thanks again!
For a large SUV like LR Discovery, would you recommend the TopRide or ProRide (upright), I'm debating between fork mount and upright mount, but the vehicle is very tall vs ease of not taking the wheel off.
Does this rack require me to buy new crossbars? I have factory ones and I'd like a rack that isn't a fork mount. If there is another similar rack you'd recommend let me know. I'm just trying to do some quick recreational trail-biking on weekends.
Tom, with the addition of another product, you can use the 598003 in factory load bars. See the link below for more details and to check fitment. www.rackoutfitters.com/thule-532-ride-on-adapter-set-of-2/
Looks like that bike has Maxxis High Roller II 2.40" tires, the ProRide holds up to 3-inch tires. Can't find frame specs other than material, the ProRide fits round frame 22-80 mm.
I was very nervous putting my brand new beach cruiser on this rack. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxG6JIgwJhur8_Rg8UeQ3EmePzi_wSncL8 But after reading many reviews I decided to get this one and take a chance. When arrived it was very simple to adjust and put together. I also added spike tape over the metal hooks before securing and tightening the straps, and no scratches. I also purchased the top bar made by the same company so that my cruiser sits straight on the rack without having to turn upside down. Extra bungee cords are used to secure the front wheel from flapping and even piece of mind knowing your bike is secure. Definitely recommend...

Can this work with Yakima core bars

Hello. The fork mount TopRide holds the bike without the weight of the front wheel and so lifting the bike up will be a little easier. Thanks!

Will it work with my Orbea Rallon 2017?
