Wow. Tom Waits puts a special stamp on his vocal performances, but when others cover his compositions, something wonderful often comes out of the song. I'm thinking of covers like the one Norah Jones did of "Long Way Home", or James Taylor's version of "Shiver Me Timbers" or any number of covers of "Heart of Saturday Night". Your cover here emphasizes the blue loneliness in "Gun Street Girl". Fabulous. Also, I give applause in noting the tasteful harmony overdub.
Your kind offering here compels me to consider , especially with a one chord song ,that it's all about achieving and maintaining a level of `BALANCE' for which you do, and the things can turn Hipnotic . It also takes a level of courage in solo-performing a one chord and you apparently are not bashful in the least. Sounds great ! `LIKED'

@@tennesseekamanski If I Needed You was lovely, even if you didn't quite finish it. :) Guy Clark's most well known song has to be L.A Freeway a moving song, not a driving song. "If I can just get off of this L.A freeway without getting killed or caught...." The other song he's known for that he wrote "Step Inside this House" was recorded by Lyle Lovett and believed to have never been recorded by Guy Clark, but only a couple or so months ago a cassette of his was found with his song on it recorded as "Step Inside My House" and it was cleaned up and posted on UA-cam about one month ago.
