Thank you so much for this great info. My wife and I have collected vintage christmas for awhile and I just stumbled on your channel today while researching boxes of ornaments i purchased today at an estate sale (lucky enough to have found 3 unsilvered paper cap ornaments that i never knew about). Learning more and more with every video
Carboard caps are getting harder to find. Congratulations on adding to your collection. Thanks for watching the videos. I'm working hard on new ones for the upcoming season so you may want to subscribe to the channel to be notified when they launch.
Thanks to you, I just found out that an old bell my Mom gave me (from her old ornaments I grew up with) is a Shiny Bright ! It's blue solid, with sliver shining through worn spots. I just love it to remember my Mom ❤
Michelle, I hope you or your mom kept the bell for the memory. Be sure and subscribe to the channel and tell Mom I have something planned you won't want to miss. Merry Christmas
I have one of the 1946 bells with the yellow at the top and blue on the bottom. I was wondering about it. I currently have it for sale online. I had no idea what year it was. The cap just says 'made in USA'. It doesn't say 'made in US of A'. Otherwise it looks exactly like what you are showing in the video. So I'm really not sure if it's 1946.
Michael, Rather than rare, I would classify your ornament as harder to find. It dates from a very narrow time period and think of how many were dropped and smashed in the past eighty years. If you want me to take a look, email a picture to booksbyjody2021@gmail.com. Happy New Year

Glad we could help with a fond memory. Merry Christmas.
At 6:36 I had this beautiful blue frosted bell growing up! Enjoyed your video and sent it to my mom. We just love Christmas ornaments!

Joseph,
I do so Appreciate your loyalty.
Merry Christmas
Lovely bells!
Ho Jody, any videos planned for this year please?
Looking forward to the 2024 season! Should launch early October.
I found a clear bell with tinsel yesterday at a garage sale! It’s dirty looking, any ideas on cleaning it?
Patrick,
You can clean the dust off with a fan brush. I still haven't found a way to clean without removing the lacquer and paint.

Perhaps a switched cap.....
I have a glass tree shape ornament in my collection with tinsel in it. Is that rare?
