After "meeting" the lead singer at a "weekend to remember" conference for marriage, he shared the back story for this song. They had been on the road for years touring, then had kids. His wife was exhausted and stayed home with kids while he was out on tours. She eventually hit a breaking point and they sat down at a table to discuss. He said his wedding picture of his glowing wife was right next to them, while she was breaking down in front of him. Thus the reference to pictures in the song and having a home yet so alone. He mentioned how it was such a contrast of a beaming new wife to a broken empty and lonely mother. Providing for a family is not the only purpose in life as a man. We are to be present and an active force to guide, protect, influence, encourage our family and pursue our wives as we did before marriage. To be intentional in how we serve each other in marriage despite our shortcomings. Marriage is not a 50/50 arrangement, it's 100/0. Give it your all and expect nothing in return, and you will receive a relationship that thrives in love and understanding.
For all the single Christians out there..Stop searching for that special person in your life, don't end up searching for love in all the wrong places because you might begin to get jealous with other people's relationships. Just trust God that He will bring that special person your way. Maybe you are still single because God still wants to work out some Kinks in your heart that you can't even see that might ruin a relationship if you try to get into one too quickly. Or maybe God is still molding you and shaping you into that perfect husband or wife first for your special someone so you will be prepared first. Just trust God and know that He will take care of you! Know that you are loved by Him and He will bring someone into your life who will also give you and show you Gods love through that man or women. Stop searching, you might be searching out of your own desires. Be patient, there's nothing greater than being in Gods perfect will.

My parents got remarried to this song. They rediscovered Christ during the divorce and truly have a testimony to tell.

I led my wife in 99 when she had brain surgery. Now in 2018 she is leading me with my blood cancer diagnosis. Been together since I was 18, and we have raised all 3 children together.

This song resonates with me so powerfully....I prayed for my husband to lead me and our family in likeness for 12 years. My husband just met the Lord and going through radical transformation. God is good and faithful all the time. In 12 years I often felt like giving up and so discouraged at times....probably doubted God....but in His perfect time He made it happen....thank you for this song...I am immensely blessed. May the Lord continue to use this band for His glory!!!
I wanted to take a moment and say this is by far my favorite Christian song as a father and a husband of all time. Any time I fell down as a father, a husband or a man of God I listen to this. I know I will never meet you but I would love to see you in concert sometime but if not just seeing you on here is close.

I don’t know if you guys look at these comments anymore. But I remember being around the age of 7 when my dad started listening to your band. And I remember riding with him to work and he said to me, while this song was playing “Ren, this song makes me think of your beautiful smile” and I’m 19 now, getting married and I still think about him every single time I hear this song.
