I'm very much a beginner on the guitar. But I've watched this like 5 times, and honestly, it doesn't really seem like all that challenging of a riff to play. I'm pretty confident that I'm gonna spend the time necessary to nail it! Can't wait! Thanks for your lesson, bud! You're a great teacher!
***** Hey Benjamin, thanks for watching. This song has been finished for some time now. Check out my Metallica lesson playlist here ua-cam.com/play/PLOBqO_KghqI7qp1N_tDJ46zmWlSHUtbc8.html for all of my Metallica lessons and the remaining "Wherever I May Roam" lessons. :)
GuitarLessons365Song Oooooh thank you very much!! Thats great!! But i cant find the second part of this lession?! I hope you can show us more metal-stuff! ;)
Um sorry if I sound dumb for this question, but I am not a guitar player. I’ve never even touched an electric guitar in my entire 14 years of living. So my question is, how come the guitar sounds high pitched at certain parts? For example 0:38 when he plays the note A
Crazy. As an old fan of the band it tripped me out when you said if you get 600 likes, now it's 2.2k and 6 years later.....fark. I wish I went straight to guitar instead of bass, and work and then drums and then work. Big fucking sigh but thanks dude, iam not a huge fan these days of the band but the riffs are fun to play. Thanks again.
Viewing this today after Metallica posted a live version of the song. Carl saying “600” likes for more - today, there are 9.7k likes. I think he sold himself a bit short there! Love this guy’s lessons.
Question: I wonder if you are letting the low e-string ring out after you play the E5 power chord at the beginning of the riff. It doesn't seem like it. Do you mute it with your left hand (while doing the slide) or with your right hand?
Carl- thanks for teaching all these Metallica songs! Was wondering if you use a specific pedal for most of your metal songs? Or if you recommend a certain metal distortion pedal? Thanks
The intro of this song had a sitar sound ( I remember so :P) and then the guitar sounds. Is it possible to get that sitar sound through guitar? And this tutorial helped me a lot !! Thanks!!
Electro Harmonix makes a pedal that's named the Ravish Sitar. In my opinion it comes very close. Or you can buy an electric sitar. Some are very cheap. Just a little bit more than the pedal.
***** Thank you very much for suggesting JamOrigin because i never knew about this software. Can I use it as a plugin to a recording software like Audacity, Flstudio etc. ?
Please complete the lesson. this song is my most favorite and I`d love to learn it! and what`s the problem if doesn`t reach 600 likes? this is a great song and everybody loves it even non metal fans.
Can you maybe re do this lesson again for an acoustic lesson yeah I do understand Metallica didn’t do acoustic guitars but I’m asking as a favorite for myself only because my neighbors kept yelling about my line six spider iV amp dude if not then I do apologize for the inconvenience dude Rock on 🤟🏻🤟🏻I have a blue Ibanez acoustic so hopefully it should be easy for me dude I mean I do have an electric guitar but yeah man

Pinch harmonics on bridge pick up.
They're called pinch harmonics which basically helps raise the pitch without actually playing a high pitched note
