This used to be a trend in Vietnam. Customers cook porridge/congee in the hot pot and forget to stir, so the burning rice settles to the bottom and sticks to the tray, making it difficult to clean. A lot of waiters were scolded for that. I know it's fun to do, but please think for the waiter/waitress
We do something similar in Japan! We always finish off the hotpot by putting rice or noodles in it after, the broth and leftover ingredients really make some of the best congee or udon!!!!
I make something similar as a mexican 😊 my base is tomato, onion, chicken bouillon, and jalapeño. Then I add in rice (after frying the uncooked rice), red potatoes chopped up, and sometimes I’ll add carrot, zucchini, and chicken meatballs🥰
I wanna try this! Im going to hai di lao tmr for my bday! Cant wait to try this! (I dont think i could cuz my parents would be angry if i did it, but it looks sooo goood i wanna try it!)
There’s usually 2/4 sections to a hotpot and if u dedicate one for the diy hotpot u still have another fresh pot that people who prefer other soup or want to do their own thing can use it.
You didn't even listen and then you went out of your way to write a hate comment? She said AFTER not the start of the hotpot and people have more than 10IQ they know, you are telling grown people water is wet 😂
@@juuk3103 Ok. First of all, that was not a hate comment. I know it's hard to hear the tone through text, but it was more concern comment, than hate. The only comment that comes close to a hate comment here is yours. Second, we're talking about a hot pot, that several people share. Sure, they do this custom soup after they've eaten. That answers the question of "when?" but it still doesn't answer the question of "why?" What if someone was just taking a little break from eating, but would’ve wanted to eat a bit more in a moment, and they don't want this, but is too afraid/shy to object? What if they did this, but they think it tastes like shit, and now instead of ending the meal on a good note, they have to end it with a shitty taste in their mouths? (Even though all of these examples are unlikely to happen in this situation, they're not an impossibility either.) And I really shouldn’t feel the need to defend myself to you, but I did watch the whole thing before commenting.
Also, soups get super oily after all the meat cooking 😂 And no, I will not eat this before meat because the whole purpose of going to hdl is for the meat
Fun fact: everytime you go to a hot pot first thing to do is to chech to see if its something on the bottom oh the broth, i work there, trust me... that broth was used for before clients
Not true lol firstly all hotpot restaurants do not serve pre-filled. The customer chooses the soup base and they bring fresh broth and fill it up. If there is anything it would be from the main kitchen where the broth is being stewed. U clearly have not gone to a hotpot restaurant or u r eating from some shady street food vendor LOL
I dont you can do that in haidilao, you choose your base soup combination, it's more a chore to try match combination than just give the customer their soup base combination
Looks great! However, for health reasons, I would probably do this before having hotpot because of the things that are in the soup base after you cook meat and stuff in it. If you have left over rice in the soup base before beginning to cook things in it, it’s okay because it’s actually a special type of hotpot in China to cook food in congee. 😊
That literally looks so good damn
Hmmm

Was thinking about this 😅
That what i was thinking
no thanks
I think it originated from the Japanese Zosui
Yes this can be an issue!
Ahhhh congee is probably my favourite comfort food ever. I’m still getting the hang of perfecting making it at home but it’s still delicious x
This isn't congee, it has to have a very soft grains and silky consistency to be congee. This is rice porridge.
@@GWT1m0 congee is rice porridge 😂
More like soupy rice
@@GWT1m0😊😊😊😊😊😊

Seems like it would be kinda hard for the restaurant to clean?
It's hotpot what do you expect...
We do something similar in Japan! We always finish off the hotpot by putting rice or noodles in it after, the broth and leftover ingredients really make some of the best congee or udon!!!!
You really know how to enjoy food!
Looks so good!

I love it when people know how to eat good.
I'm not a fan of Hotpot cuisine, but the process itself is just so fun and customisable!
That sounds so good right now could use bowl of congee😢
Omg I think I went their city of industry 🥰 my bf and I played at round 1! I went there today and so good 😭😭😭
Congee is one of my favorite easy dishes especially in winter but I live in Florida and I still crave it in humid summer.
All these aside, it does look good hehe
Her cute little clap after she taste it 💗

Is this the Sunnybank Haidilao? Just curious.
❤
It’s not really congee cause the rice is not soft. It’s paofan 泡饭
Jinyyyy
I love this place especially when I’m Chinese
It looks like sambar
🤤
Don't make the waiters were scolded by u, they may have to clean so many burnt rice on the tray
Time for Bridey to repeat this
🤤🤤🤤🤤
My Chinese mom would scold me if I do that😂
The one in chatswood's good
OH MY GOSH. I WENT THERE ITS IN EMIRATES !!
Is this South Korea or in Vietnam
Too bad if the other people didnt want rice in their hotpot 😊😢
I can’t even finish the ingredients. Now wanna add rice
Khichdii 👍
Looks good, but if someone else wanted to use that soup/sauce thing without the rice and egg, it’s now ruined for them.
it sounds like she recommended doing this at the end because she said "after you demolish your hot pot"!
It's done after, at the very end of the meal.
Kind of like Japanese people putting rice after hotpots to make 'zosui'/porridge of sorts.

Where is this haidiloa hot pot ??
I watched this video I hungry too 😋
It's basically Ojia, which people in Japan have been doing with Hotpot as a finisher forever...
For a second I thought a hand was feet-
You should also try hot pot, Dubai. You would love it.😊
... idk but $2 is 20k in my country.
Which country
Its looks alike rasam rice 🍚
What if someone doesn't like egg? 😢
When I went to Hai di Lao I was on the toilet all night 🤧😅
Bro why u put rice into the hot pot bro
It originated from the Japanese Zosui
泡饭😂
looks like things that feeds poultry
The chicken broth should be good too
🤤 and get some rice noodles
The thing is I can never do this because I'd already be too full from all the delicious meat
Is from vietnam 🇻🇳
Am I the only one who’s been doing this for last ten years?
it depends if your soupmisnt recycled 😂😂
Do they dance for u?
Also, soups get super oily after all the meat cooking 😂
And no, I will not eat this before meat because the whole purpose of going to hdl is for the meat
Are you friends with carrie and nick
It's literally "shime" in Japanese nabe 😅
Fun fact: everytime you go to a hot pot first thing to do is to chech to see if its something on the bottom oh the broth, i work there, trust me... that broth was used for before clients
Gross fact

But it's not hotpot anymore and you can probably make the same thing at home for less than 2 dollars
Except you had to pay extra for taking the condiments. 😢
IM SORRY DID I JUST HEAR AVERY? MY NAME IS AVERI
The hot pot is delicious, but eating the soup that way you'll end eating your 10-year salt allowance in one sitting
As a mexican we put rice in out bowls when boiling hot ❤ it so good!!!
I don't have friends.
After i ate alot of meat theres a load of oil in there. No way rice is going in for mine...
These people dont cook arent they?
Its just normal porridge that every one can do it at home.
Yes congee is nice but seriously... You go to a hotpot restaurant to eat congee?
i thing i go here before
Msg rice
What is a toe ma toe?
that's おじや
Is this even hotpot anymore, rice?
who that heck go to all you can eat hotpot to fill up with rice? you go to beef and seafood.
...have you tried to just save money by making soup at home and putting your weird rice egg whatever in that? They sell the flavor packets you know?
ADRIEN….?!?!??????
Then the rice become mush 🚫
Your hot pot is mid af if it isn't unlimited. Taking hotpot with rice? The value you get from your hotpot isn't asian enough.
Shame on your clan
Think about the employee who has to clean this hotpot after you finish 🤔 employee nightmare
Selfish potter hogging a quart to urself. I wouldn’t eat hotpot with u unless it’s individual pots
Haidilao is garbage tbh
Looks great! However, for health reasons, I would probably do this before having hotpot because of the things that are in the soup base after you cook meat and stuff in it. How creative and classy people these days to let themselves enjoy the trashy food and ignore the diarrhoea next day
