You saved me $90 labor and for that I give you a big 👍👍. You the man
that's awesome man !!
One of the best how to car videos i have seen. You could see everything! And only a couple of minor things skipped.
Remove the cap off the fluid reservoir prior to starting
Nice job! I'm hearing metal on metal... gotta get this done.
Go for it!
Excellent video a recommendation: the rotors are cleaned with brake parts cleaner to remove the oil that the rotors bring.
Thank you very much for the helpful video!
Great video! Thanks. Will work on my van tomorrow. 👍
Excellent video, I wonder if it is the same for my 2003 Chevy 3500 cargo van?? I'll jack it up and have a look.
it should be an extremely similar process , if you have any questions let me know!!
Excelente felicitaciones Juan Pablo👏👏👏
Thank you for the easy to follow video.. Cool shades!
Gotta grease up the slide guide pins
It's always best to zip tie the caliper to a non moving part to keep from damaging the brake line
thank you!
Great video thanks
Great job keeping doing this videos thanks 😊
aye nice job
i know where to go when i got a prob
Very good my friend. Thanks
Are the newer 2017+ Chevy/gmc vans the same possess?
pretty similar process
One thing I saw that I need to call out... Your method of breaking in the brakes is incorrect. When breaking them in, you don't want to come to a complete stop for the first 4 or 5 times you stop. You want to deposit brake pad material on the rotor evenly, and you'll create a "high spot" if you come up a complete stop. This is what makes the brake rotors "warp" later in life. That "warp" is actually a high spot of pad material that slowly collects and builds up until you get that pulsating pedal. The only way to get rid of that is replace or turn the rotors.
Thank you 👍👍💡💡
never use wd 40 on the wheel nuts use the logic please🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I changed mine and 2 wheels are squeeking when I first touch the peddle. Starting to see burn marks
Didn't even re-grease the slide pins lmao.
Not Sure about GM...but, BMW like many other manufacturers use a floating caliper, however they recommend NOT using lubricant on the slide pin.
I learned this after 10yrs of owning/DIY'ng these cars; up to then I had always greased them, against manufacturer recommendations and never had an issue.
another 8 years into owning/DIY I always clean the pins with brake cleaner, and polish-dry them; and also never had an issue.
I'll be doing this job on my 98 Express 3500 and its more or less the exact same procedure, so I'll go with the clean pins/no grease approach.
Thanks for the video, it was an easy reference for Socket sizes: 19mm & 13/16"
👍
Great 👍🏼
