For your mower try rigging up something like they use on brush hogs. the blades pivot so if you hit something they just give way and don't damage as easily. I have them on my brush hog and I would hit rocks twice the size of those and it wouldn't do any damage
Good Morning Yall, As for your lawnmower blades if you put a short plate on dif. and bolt blades to it where they are free floating so when you hit the blade will float around the rock or what ever you hit it with, like a bush hog.
Yes, the blades need to pivot. Might be better to just install a complete bush hog blade assembly if he can find one cheap. Trouble is, to get a decent shredder cut you need a PTO speed of 600-850 RPM. Not sure how fast that dif set-up is spinning but I'm willing to bet it's not fast enough.
Murrie, I have a glove suggestion for you!!!! I was an electrician up until about 3 years ago, and I always preferred Maxiflex 34-8443 gloves (Those are for the xl's, it's a different product # for each size though so pay attention when ordering them). They're Cut resistant, lightweight, and you can actually handle small screws, nuts & bolts, etc. PLUS if the get nasty, you can throw them in the washer and they don't seem to shrink or lose any of their cut resistance.
When dragging vehicles home I like to tell my wife look what follow me home! We use Mechanics Wear high impact. Leather padded palm and fingers mesh backs with rubber pads on top of the fingers and top of hand.
Oaker has his truck. Natie's going on her second vehicle. What about a vehicle for Finn? You don't need a jealous kid on your hands. Loving how the house is coming along.
Good times It's hot in Michigan i think you sent us your heat but we add the humidity lol such a great view you have there keep up the good work it's getting closer every day When it's done you'll.... Well move on to the next one of course
Good morning from Michigan. My boyfriend & I love watching your videos. He suggests trying string trimmer line set up for your mower instead of blades.
Always a treat to get up on a Friday morning and see a new B & Ms Garage video up. TY and have a blessed weekend. Old school leather workman gloves with the wrist drawstring re the best.
Ben, you're a great mechanic, dad and husband. Your kids are awesome and your wife is very awesome. Your home is looking awesome sauce. Keep up your great videos, work and faith. From Orlando Florida.
I wish Challenger lift would bless Ben with a new lift. I truly feel that if anyone has ever deserved it it would definitely be Ben. Come on everyone let Challenger know that it would be a great thing to set Ben up!!!!
My favorite gloves (carpenter, mechanic) are the atlas or showa nitrile 370? They also help with fatigue. Because your grip is way better. Very sticky around the drill and impack tho. And the thicker 451 gray ones are great in the cold. Love the vids!!!
12:30 "We've had two major car accidents right next to us...". If that's not an indicator to put on your seatbelt, i don't know what is. Just because you are an attentive driver, doesn't mean the meatballs around you are.
Hi Ben... maybe you could do something with your Mower Diff Unit like a brush Hog with blades that are not welded or bolted but more of a swing arm type unit..A bolt that allows it to swivel with a thicker blade like a flat bar with an edge..In case of rocks and heavy vegetation..
Hey Ben, take you an old truck leaf spring and forge a heavy duty mower blade. When you quench use used motor oil water will cause it to crack and or shatter.
Another great one. 35% here and a another there and pretty soon your done. Firm grip gloves from Home Depot in the 10 pack. We got the house build with 2 or 3 packs. They are pretty grippy but concrete wears them and us out.😢😂
I work outside on the ground or on the road at my house. Im always all gravel and dirt. My yard is small like our 2 bedroom house 😂 it does the trick thow. Good job Ben
Use chain like from old snow tire chains, take off the tread cross links and use the side chain part,, did that to my weed eater that used to have 3 plastic blades, now it has 3 links of snow chain on each of the blade pivots, no more plastic blade crap and the string trimmers are junk.. works great around fences, t post and rocks,, bounces right off the tires around the parked row of collected TREASURES.. lol
You need to hit up Paul for a set of tires he has mountains lol The best gloves are drywall finisher gloves or AKA painters gloves they last forever and can be washed if they are just dirty.
Gears for your mower. Gear on the diff, smaller gear with a separate mount for the blade. Bit of fabbing but you should be able to get it to spin faxt enough to move to chains to cut with.
Good thinkin on the cutters on that diff Ben. I was gonna suggest a series of sprockets or guides with chainsaw blades but that might be too involved. What about chainsaw blades between the lawnmower ones but have the chainsaw blades about an inch to an inch 1/2 below the lawnmower ones for secondary cuts . Just weld a solid rod or a series of rebarb down the center with the chains swinging😅..that'll probably hold
I use gauntlet welding gloves for anything where protection matters fire/gardening/weding ect because they’re good cheap and durable, u’d probably take a size 9, how about cow catcher style blades on the front of the mower to push large rocks out of the way or at least stop them from getting under the mower, all the best, love your content from the uk!
I can't wait to see what you're going to do with Nat's truck! I agree with the commenters idea about using floating blades on your homemade brush hog. At least you won't bend them up. I hope y'all have a great day!😁👍
For gloves nothing beats the yellow Hardy PVC coated gloves from Harbor Freight. They are my go to for metal roofing and siding. They may even have them in a cut resistant version as well. For all around use when grip isn't important I use their white knit gloves. These types of gloves are what we've used for a long time, way before Harbor Freight was around.
BEN, maybe try this idea for the "tow behind mower". 1. Flip the DIF over so it points UP! 2. Attach a large pully to the pinion shaft. 3. Run a belt forward to a much smaller pulley driving a spindle Shaft. 4. Now mount a much larger Blade Forward of the trailer Tires. 5. make some sort of belt tension adjuster so thte belt will only slip when you hit something BIG like a huge ROCK! 6. You will have much higher tip speed making a better cutting action and a better cutting action. !! Much love and good wishes from a retired Submarine Sailor.
Sounds to me like somebody's better start looking for themselves a sugar daddy/ boy friend, husband, bo or whatever you call those guys. LOL❤ God Bless & PEACE OUT!!!
Let get Ben and his family to 100,000 subscribers.
the brush hog at the ranch has heavy blades with a bolt that lets the blade swing when it hits something
There are so many projects and chores. All in all, great progress! Thanks for sharing 👍
Thank you who ever it was who donated it to thwm. That is a nice truck i love the look of them

You saved me writing the same,he could also try a disc with the small blades that fold back .
Good morning Utah from sunny Florida 🐊🌴
Natty Youre doing a great job at editing 🙌
Nat works really hard at it! She is amazing!!!

What they said 👆
Flame thrower for the weeds
Awesome as always. Thanks for sharing and taking us along
Always need parts for older vehicles wherever you can get them. Slowly but surely on the house!
Just keep plugging away. 😎
Always a fun time;)

I've had good use with Harbor Freight mechanic gloves.
As one who worked on the ground at home, with lifts at work, it took some doing to get a lift at home. Its priceless.
And more work to come
Good Morning From Kansas-- Enjoying my coffee and your show!! :-) Have a great day!!!
I always buy goatskin gloves, they move easy and last a long time
They can also get soaked and work fine once dry.
Wells Lamont leather gloves from costco. They last when fencing.
Motocross gloves are the best work gloves I’ve never had any work gloves, outlast my old riding gloves
Great people
Move the rocks. If you’re mowing the field, you’re mowing it for a reason. Move the rocks and make the field more usable.

Good Morning looking good. Thanks for the ride along. You all have a Awesome day.
Oaker has his truck. Natie's going on her second vehicle. What about a vehicle for Finn? You don't need a jealous kid on your hands. Loving how the house is coming along.
We've used chainsaw blades on a weed Wacker cut down and put on backwards so they don't catch if that helps you
Ben!!🤘🤘
Ben,if you buy Rust O Leumsvheadlight restore .It's near permanent, takes an hour or so .Works awesome.!!
Skills!
Good times

Good morning from Michigan. My boyfriend & I love watching your videos. He suggests trying string trimmer line set up for your mower instead of blades.
Hey B&M Garage! Attach the blades to the hub with short chains! 2 per blade so they don't twist! Ride ride ride!
Always a treat to get up on a Friday morning and see a new B & Ms Garage video up. TY and have a blessed weekend. Old school leather workman gloves with the wrist drawstring re the best.
Sweet truck!! Great new project.
This truck build will be interesting, Can't wait to see the house move in ready.
Field and rock mower… Plus safety gear, (in case of rocks and metal flying around).
Ben, you're a great mechanic, dad and husband. Your kids are awesome and your wife is very awesome. Your home is looking awesome sauce. Keep up your great videos, work and faith. From Orlando Florida.
a disc with multiple blades that can kick back, that's how a brush mower works.
Need to use thicker Steel for the weed mower blades. Tractor mowers use 1/2" thick blades.
Look how a brush mower blades work the pivot when you hit a rock
I love the way you guys did the floors...awesome job..love the house guys
After years of just about, you are getting up to all most.
Love the old trucks! Try giant zipties in place of the blades, they might not work very well but the rocks wont hurt them as bad!
Hey after you buff them. Tape and clear coat them with a can they will last a lot longer than always buffing them.
I wish Challenger lift would bless Ben with a new lift. I truly feel that if anyone has ever deserved it it would definitely be Ben. Come on everyone let Challenger know that it would be a great thing to set Ben up!!!!
I agree with you he definitely deserves one or even 2 😂
Great job again.
Chains with sickle blades welded on, flexible for the rocks and blades to cut. Well I'm my mind it sounds like it would work maybe?
Blades, make them beefy and hinge them where they bend back if they hit something. Might have to resharpen them but might keep them from bending.
Is it a swing back mower blade?
More done on the house ! That is what you need ! Thanks for sharing !

Return them they have defects
Build it out of a combine cutter bar…back and forth action cuts lots better than revolving cutters
like Ben said; "There's always something going." thanks for the updates

U Do GREAT WORK ! TRY A CHAIN SAW CHAIN ON THAT MOWER.
I work outside on the ground or on the road at my house. Im always all gravel and dirt. My yard is small like our 2 bedroom house 😂 it does the trick thow. Good job Ben

That is a 1963. I can tell by the cab mount bolt location in the floor and by the windshield. The 60 to 62 cab mount is closer the door.
Good morning I always look forward to your videos you guys balance progress on so many things I am impressed. Keep up the great work
Good morning from Louisiana.
Good morning back!
Good video, as always! Catch you on the next. ✌️ 😊
You just have to empty every pocket, ben

Nice to see a channel where there is a triage process for maintenance. Not everyone has sponsors for tires and such...
Hi keep up with the good work love watching you on UA-cam God bless
Awesome video Cox crew!!! I absolutely love watching you all but especially Nattie!!!

Your house is looking amazing guys ❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
Motorcycle chain for the mower. Or timing chains.
saludos bonita familia .. se q no saven leer en español .. pero me en canta ver sus videos… ❤
Have you considered using steel cable for your mower?
Use old timing chains for your mower or old roller chains.
Grab some Nitrile Dipped Cut resistant gloves! They’re cheap and they’ll last a long time!
For your lawnmower, what about trying wire rope as your cutting blade!
My favorite gloves are the deer skin gloves. Light weight but last very well.
Challenger should hook Ben up with a lift.
2 day HD Gloves come with a 30 day warranty, return for full price/credit!
Sounds to me like somebody's better start looking for themselves a sugar daddy/ boy friend, husband, bo or whatever you call those guys. LOL❤ God Bless & PEACE OUT!!!
For gloves, I tend to prefer Mechanix. They ain't cheap, but they're tough and they'll tend to last a while.
no motor keepin up with you.. must be blutooth & drafting you lol
Talk to Chad about gloves. Iron Clas brand hooked him up with a bunch of freebies
