So I have this awesome section in my discord called VIP Members and its where any UA-cam Member can talk back and forth with me. They ask questions about Builds and why I choose x thing for certain builds.
And then we just randomly talk about anything!
Well longtime member Cipher asked me take a look at a build he was running in onslaught. So I copied the DIM link,
Set it all up and let me tell you. I have had an absolute blast playing this over the past week and that might
even be an understatement!
Now I did switch a few things that I thought played better within the Build including a Aspect, Fragment and some mods. But the core of the Build was there and thank you for that Cipher! It made me remember why I started my channel to begin with and that was to share builds within destiny 2 and hopefully make the game more enjoyable when you all play it with different builds on different characters. Well this build did just that for me and I really do appreciate it.
The reason I was having a blast with this build is the option you have of how you choose to play the Build. You can spam your big slam to clear waves of enemies with the ignitions, or just sit back and mow through
every wave because we have a juiced up weapon that shreds everything, leaving scorch, sunspots and ignitions in its wake and we never have to reload when we play it right. You get your super so fast thanks to the outgoing damage your deal with the Exotic weapon and you have infinite restoration and radiant up at 15 seconds pretty
much all the time. I have been farming Legend Onslaught with this even in LFGs and its been a blast.

Also Tommys has perfect hip fire accuracy so don't be afraid to hipfire. It also does less heat damage to you while hipfiring. Have at it!!😊

@KingConan it'll do decent primary and ignition dps. If you're thinking for onslaught it should be fine if you also bring a good heavy dps weapon. If it's things like raids and dungeons, no it won't over perform or even close to it really. Not garbage but nothing special and the super doesn't do much

@@KingConan it depends! easy bosses i stay on it, but its a super easy swap to a legendary solar auto and then throw on zeno and actium still works! If it has a crit then sometimes ill use thunderlord but that requires some mod swaps for more damage.
Thanks so much for putting your build out there! I've just barely came back to destiny after a good 4 years, and not only finding out I lost my account but having everything be different, its been rough finding a groove.
Your build though has helped a ton as I still subornly refuse to play anything other than Titan and love solar to boot, so thank you again :)

Consecration is easily the most satisfying ability in the entire game. Love it.

@@Plunderthabooty ya, same. I played with synthos when it was released and now I don't put down pyrogale gauntlets on my solar titan. Every time I take this to GM it's a breeze because everything and everyone go boom on sights.
I'm a Titan main and love using Consecration, but I don't think there's anything more satisfying than a Deadfall tether with Rigs.

You could use that, Burning Steps, pyrogales, Phoenix Cradle, so many other options. Imo actium is one of the worse options, just put 2 loader mods on and you're fine. But I see the fun factor appeal of it

I've been using Tommys for the last few seasons since they made it scorch. I use it on my Well build with Ember of Combustion. I get double the kills of other Well users with Sunshot. Also chews through bosses and Yellow bars

Try strand warlock with graviton. You nuke everything. Spawn kills everything in ounslaught. Graviton with correct aspects, fragments , void and strand siphon , and artifact mod can make tangles with the swarmers, the explosion from graviton nukes the tangles and spawns army of threadlings that loop with cosmology. Then use strand gl from trials with chain envious for area burst. Or the strand rocket launcher (season only ) with a team mate that has galley to burst areas with strand.
I can't tell you how much I LOVE this weapon, I never get tired of shooting It. Have a really nice day to anyone that happens to scroll by.
Also, matchbook feels Insane with Ember of Eruption / Ember of Char and Ember of Ashes. a single Ignition will deleted everything Including champions because your Ignitions will now spread constantly and you trigger them faster with Ashes.
You are my favorite destiny youtuber in terms of builds. You explain everything very well and the on screen aspects etc are very helpful. Keep it going👍

As great as Actium War Rig is, I feel like Precious Scars would be better overall especially with the self damage and Benevolence. Either way though this should be tons of fun.

How do you keep restoration up 100%? I copied the build but still cant keep my restoration up unless I get in my sunspots but you seem to get restoration by just shooting.

But why in all these videos do they only show game play in the neganning rounds my strand suspend lock with buried bloodline for infinite nades and primaring my marcato with demo hatchling and it absolutely shreds in the 40s but some builds look great in early rounds but start to fall off in the 30s
Without showcasing gameplay in waves of around level 40 or something, I have no way of knowing of how effective it actually is. The highest level shown is 19

This build would also work nicely with my heal clip/incandescent/onslaught adept Summoner paired with Xeno. Thanks Plunder! Duddits 2 just did a walking turret voidlock build with Sacant Filaments/Touch of Malice. Might be a fun one to try out as well.

i seem to be dying constantly with this build. not sure what im doing wrong but it seems so much weaker than my bonk syntho build
I think it's because you don't have the catalyst for this build, in not sure but think the catalyst is what gives you the scorching damage, which in turn makes the sunspots that are the key to this build
Ive been using this build forever already kinda cool seeing you post it, its such a beautiful blend of primary weapon dps, ignition spam that doesnt require artifact mods, on top of taking advantage of radiant and restoration and then Tommy's catalyst actually helps out with its downside of self damage with superior health regen since it only damages the shield so it weirdly helps you stay alive longer as you shoot it, its very potent everywhere just be aware that in high difficulty modes like gms youll die very easily if youre not careful

I’ve been running this exact setup but with precious scars. I know you’ve done a few precious scars builds already. Would you recommend this Actium build over precious scars? The healing may be overkill at times from scars.

Yes for sure! Phoenix Protocol or Mantle of Battle Harmony, I still lean towards Phoenix if my goal is to drop a well everytime I have it, if I'm not then Mantle 👍

I thought if you have a mod on a weapon ie overload and you have radiant, it wouldn't stun a anti barrier?

I expected tommy's matchbook with precious scars so you could really push the buff it gives for continuously shooting. Will try this.

Oh hey, I was running almost this same build like a week ago. One thing I think you might have overlooked is that you may want to use Ember of Ashes over Ember of Benevolence since Tommy's Matchbook (and Sunspots) will apply more scorch, triggering ignitions faster.
I think for solo activity, that makes sense. In team activity, benevolence works so well.

A month late but I’ve been trying this build and in PvE it is absolutely insane. In the “Ghosts of The Deep” Dungeon I used this build and, while fighting Ecthar, I stood around the acolyte/Knight/Ogre spawn point and took all the mob aggression and I swear I COULD NOT DIE!! Great build bro 😎
quick question, does the Tommy's matchbook still scorch enemies? Because I have it without the catalyst (working on it) and the heat sink perk doesn't scorch enemies anymore. is this a catalyst specific perk or did they just take this trait off of the weapon. Thanks!
@@bendavi141 it’s catalyst gives scorch on consistent fire against an enemy while ignition trigger is active. Basically just have to put a couple of rounds into an enemy and scorch is applied. With this build it creates a sunspot, but only one at a time can be active.

How did you get anti barrier on a machine gun and a grenade launcher???
The Radaint buff on Solar. Radaint is anti barrier on weapons as long as that weapon doesn't already have anti champ on it 👍

I've been playing destiny so blindly, that I never thought of making a proper build to my character, but my question is: Do you have a build on which can cause massive damage, while also tanking damage?

Chapter 8: The Siege Begins
With the Vanguard's endorsement, Shin and Kara quickly moved to implement the ancient strategies they had revived from the archives. Their first task was to conduct a series of tactical strikes against key Cabal positions around the City, each operation designed to test the effectiveness of the old Guardian formations and the philosophical teachings now integrated into their battle tactics.
As dawn broke over the Last City, the team gathered at the edge of the battleground, their armor polished and weapons ready, each Guardian's spirit buoyed by the renewed sense of purpose that Shin and Kara had instilled in them. The target was a heavily fortified Cabal outpost that had been a thorn in the side of the City's defenses for months.
"Remember," Shin addressed his team, his voice steady and inspiring, "today we do more than fight; we reaffirm our commitment to protect and serve, using wisdom handed down through generations. Let’s show them what it means to be a Guardian."
Kara, reviewing the holographic map with the team, pointed out their entry points and objectives. "We’ll split into three squads. Alpha will flank left using the Shield Weave formation; Bravo will penetrate the center with the Spearhead Rush; and Charlie, you’re on long-range support with the Overwatch Halo. Stick to the plan, and watch each other’s backs."
As they approached the Cabal outpost, the sun crested the horizon, casting long shadows over the battlefield. The Cabal, unaware of the impending assault, continued their routines until the first signs of the Guardian's advance.
The battle erupted into chaos as soon as Shin gave the signal. Alpha Squad, their shields interlocked in an almost impenetrable wall, advanced steadily, absorbing and deflecting the heavy fire from Cabal turrets. Bravo Squad, using the agility and ferocity taught in the ancient texts, broke through the central defenses, their coordinated strikes sowing confusion and fear among the Cabal ranks.
High above, Charlie Squad, positioned on a ridge, provided precise cover fire, their shots synchronized with the movements of their fellow Guardians below. Their overwatch ensured that Alpha and Bravo could advance without suffering heavy casualties.
Amid the fray, Shin and Kara moved fluidly between the squads, directing movements and providing support where needed. Their presence on the field was a morale boost to their team, their confidence and mastery of the Light a beacon in the tumultuous storm of battle.
As the siege reached its climax, Shin led a final push into the heart of the outpost. With a surge of Light-enhanced strength, he breached the command center, swiftly neutralizing the Cabal commander with a decisive strike. The remaining Cabal forces, seeing their leader fall, began to falter, their lines breaking under the relentless pressure of the Guardian assault.
With the outpost secured and the Cabal forces in disarray, Shin rallied his team for a final sweep. The operation had been a resounding success, demonstrating the effectiveness of blending ancient strategies with modern tactics. The Guardians' morale soared as they realized the potential of their newfound knowledge, each victory a testament to their evolving capabilities.
As they returned to the City, their spirits were high, their camaraderie strengthened by the shared triumph. Back at the command center, Zavala greeted them with a nod of approval. "Well done, Guardians. Today, you’ve not only secured a critical victory for the City but also proven that our past holds the key to our future."
The successful siege was just the beginning. Shin and Kara knew that the real test was still to come, as they prepared to integrate these tactics on a larger scale. But for now, they celebrated their victory, confident in their path forward, the echoes of the past guiding them towards a hopeful future.
Because ARs are in the artifact and Onslaught has Champs - isn't Tommy's overcharged so no surge mods needed?
Had a similar build for Warlock with Tommy's and Mantle of BH... But for Onslaught I would change it to Verity's.

YES I’ve been rocking this build and it absolutely smacks. While I do have a hard time staying a live sometimes with Tommy’s Matchbook, I like to bust out the Heir Apparent for the heavy duty operations >:)
Imagine pairing Tommy’s with Path of Burning Steps. That’s a 50% damage buff from PoTBS and Radiant combined.
If you can proc restore x2 with stronghold and then switch to something you prefer instead, you can run around with Tommy’s damn near invincible
Hey, if youre thinking about making yis build, just know that the scorch effect you get from this gun is only available AFTER you get thr catalyst. Getting the catalyst isnt too hard, but it does take a couple if hours of grinding with auto rifles and the tommys matchbook. I reccomend going to the boind well for kills
So Plunder I was wondering if you'd be interested in possibly making a solar titan build using loreley splendor if possible
I opt for Precious Scars if I am going that route :) I think giving Restoration to the team while procing Benevolence is just too strong :)
@Plunderthabooty I gotcha and man I really wish they'd give loreley a buff it would benefit from one since it's falling behind IMO since I want to say heal clip even heals more than it

I bet this works pretty good with Phoenix Cradle too, passing Sol Invictus to your buds with all those sunspots you're making, even though it means you'll have to actually reload your gun lol
@plunderthabooty you should make a build with jotuun it's extremely powerfull and had incandesant so just running special ammo finisher makes it op (maybe a consecration build or somethin)
Would this build with Precious Scars instead of Actium War Rig work well with the extra restoration (for lower-skilled players)?
If you don’t have Hammerhead, would there be any other recommendations? Also, what grenade launcher are you using?
Actium war rig is good on every subclass with titan. Strand titan with Old sterling + hatchling with Marcatto +triple tap + onslaught is amazing .
Would AWR be broken if it gave the X4 weapon boost on elemental pick ups matching your sub class? Auto reload from reserves is cool but thats all it does. I feel there are exotics that do that and more.
You should mention that Tommy's matchbook only scorches targets once you have the catalyst.
are you for sure on this? because I have the gun without catalyst and saw it doesn't scorches targets and assumed it got nerfed. Without the scorching this build is way worse since instead of being able to shoot to kill enemies for sunspots, you have to melee them.
99% sure, The gun at no point says it Scorches targets, Only the catalyst does, That's the bonus the catalyst gives, " It now scorches targets"
Good build but there’s to much focus on the grenade. Considering sunspots give the same result and your fragment keeps the buff up, it doesn’t need as much built for it.
Yes! I've been running this build since CoolGuy recommended it. Got me off BoW Titan.

Is there any weapon instead of riptide in your loadout? I just get back to game and since I’m not super pvp player I need advice. And also is it hard to get apex predator?

Been using pyrogale's instead because I love the juiced consecration. I run with someone who always uses stasis so all the shards keep feeding me energy.
See I've been running a very similar loadout for legend onslaught. The precious scars build though. Same exotic and setup. Got the general setup from fallout. It wasn't what I needed in the end for my team but it really does help your team and packs a punch
Love the build but found one or two improvements, if you run ember of mercy it allows you to change your grenade and by doing so put on path of burning steps you can add additional damage to do even more damage and still heal as effectively
Im really hoping for a build when pragmatic comes out with stasis grenades and consecration for a shattering ignition build
