im from NYC (born and raised BX girl) and i plan on staying here...however i keep thinking about Portland as the next place i go to. One thing that holds me back is the potential lack of cultural diversity. Seeing you make this move makes me feel better ;w;
i used to live in BX for some time with family then moved away i was thinking of going back to BX because i missed home but now i’m looking to move to Oregon and it seems like a great option so far! but i do agree oregon might have a lack of diversity compared to BX
@@rottenmilk6630 no flack against oregon but its definitely something to consider. im also thinking of moving out that way but coming from south florida its definitely gonna be something to get used to.
My cousins live in Portland and I’ve visited them 3x I love the atmosphere and geographical features!!! Got to go to Powell’s the book store for sure!!!
You definitely have to see Multnomah Falls if you’re into the outdoors, and Powell’s bookstore if you’re into reading, also be sure to check out the food carts but Yelp them first!
here for the apartment search, but i gotta say...your skin looks fabulous! also, i was wondering why you weren't mentioning ac, lol. top 5 on my list.😊
thanks for making this video! im from florida and im seriously considering moving to portland after i graduate from college. its nice getting a first hand perspective on the housing options and some idea of what its like to live there.
Kori, girl---apartment 2 was SO nice, but I can't wait to see your empty apartment tour!! Also, the sinks in the bedroom gave me dorm hall vibes 😅 ( no more of that sis because we're moving on up). P.S. your editing is 🔥 sis!
I’m looking to transition this year and a bit nervous due to the negatives of downtown. I’ve been there the past two years and it’s only to visit a good friend. Well actually the person I love is there and being an independent woman , I’ve lived on my own here in New York. So I feel I should try Oregon on my own too. Tell me some tips. Oh and I don’t drive since I’m a New Yorker😢
I'm out here because of my job. Should have been in hawaii but ship life so im in oregon now but omg it's so pretty here like I could so see myself being out here for a few years
i live in north carolina and i’m preparing to move in with my boyfriend that lives in oregon! it hurts my heart to see how prices go up😭 but i hope we find a place together 🙏🏼
Check out clackamas & the mall you might find the hair stores around there idk about downtown side of ptown haven’t been there since the pandemic started but I’m sure loyd center got the hair store too anyways welcome to ptown Oregon 🤙
Hi there! I have been looking for a video that shows and tells which rental neighborhoods are safe and which are bad and where a lot of drug addicts are living on the streets. I have a goid deal of love and caring for people I wish that the apts you showed would include this onfo, as my husband and I are thinking of moving to Portland from Central Oregon andcwe are in our 70’s. I like this and try to help but I do not want to live in the same neighborhood with them. I grew up in New York City and I still love New York regardless of all the dark sides. I like the same things that you do. esp hard floors not carpets.
I wish you put the locations but I understand staying confidential with that:( I am looking to relocate in July 2022 and won’t be able to physically tour before I commit to a place
She's not in Portland she's more likely in the Beaverton area which is where Nike HQ is at. Portland isn't where you want to live. You'd want to live west of Portland.
Oh my gooooooshhh you are so inspiring! Michigan girl here, visiting next month, so want to live in Oregon thanks for the video it was everything I needed 😄
Honestly, taking the trip out to OR really helped me get a feel for which neighborhoods I could realistically see myself living in (at least for my first year). I researched apartments both within and outside city limits so that when I visited, I could get a full picture of each area. I hope that helps!
Are the apts closer to Beaverton? I have a friend who's daughter works for NIKE, and my son works for a company there as well. He lives in Slabtown, where the rent $ doesn't go as far. Those units you toured look great for that price, which is why I'm thinking you're outside of city???
Hi Kori! Hope all is well. I am so glad I found your video! I am considering moving to Portland in February. I've been doing my research and have some questions. Some of them are personal, so do you mind if I reach out to you another way?
Hi Kori! Just discovered your channel recently, but I love your videos! I'll actually be starting at Nike in September and would love to learn more about the first, second, and sixth apartments you toured. Please feel free to DM me, if that's cool with you. Thanks!
Thank y’all so much for watching this video! Do you have a favorite apartment out of the ones shown in this video? Comment below!!
What's the name of the apartment with the ac 🙌🏽i have a dog will need that for him.just moving to.portland

Awesome to know, thanks so much for the tip!!
Apartment 2 seemed like it made you the most happy. Maybe the sink in the bedroom is an Oregon thing 😭😂.
Girl it almooost won me over, whew chile 😩🤏🏾I was completely over that sink tho, it was a no from me!
here for the apartment search, but i gotta say...your skin looks fabulous! also, i was wondering why you weren't mentioning ac, lol. top 5 on my list.😊
Thank you so much! And yessss make sure you keep that AC at the TOP of your list because they are good for not even mentioning it 😩

Glad my content could be helpful for you!
I just know the one you picked is fire!!!
Sis you know it is!
wow, you bold! Can't believe you filmed through the TSA process. 😳 but it makes the angles even cooler.
I appreciate it! Definitely took some guts to film in the airport loool

I'm wanting to move to portland for the scenery but washington looks beautiful to it's so hard to choose 😅
They’re both great states! Best of luck to you in your decision process.
Washington has beautiful scenery just as well!

How you liking it so far I’ll be there in 10 days are there any good hair store?
I really like it out here so far, but as of right now, haven't found a good hair store
@@korimaria someone said north east and east Portland has black hair stores !! By mlk and Fremont

That sink in the bedroom must be common over there cause that’s weird lol
I was thinking the same thing! Only have ever seen that one other time in my life in an older home.
This one made me a bit nauseous with the camera work lol… but I’m very happy to see you all excited and happy! :)
Not you going in on my camera work loool
Lived in Oregon for nearly 18 years and I've never seen a sink in a bed room. That's so odd.
Ain't it?? I was blown away when I saw that.
Kitchen in apt 2 is fire
I’m saaaaying 😩
Did they all require 3x rent for approval? I def don’t make 3x rent and I’m having the hardest time finding an apartment because of that rule
If I’m not mistaken, at the time of my application I was required to make 2X the rent
Did you have to make appointments for the tours?
Yes I did!
Im moving to Beaverton next week to work with Intel and this is making me question my choice of setting up an apartment before actually coming there.
ANOTHER sink in another apartment 😳 Is that a Portland thing? WOOOOOOOOOW!!!!

@@tracytruelove7352 hi! I'd like some insight. Are you still open to sharing? I'm interested to know if SE, E or NE are good areas to live? Thank you!
Apartment 2 was 🔥🔥
I agree!
As a fellow Detroiter, what made you choose to move to Portland? Was it for work or was it just a calling you looked towards?
Definitely work!
I'm also a native metro Detroiter. lived in Portland for the past seven years, and now I'm relocating back to Michigan! 😅
im sorry but the sound you added with the sink in the bedroom had me weak 😂😂😭😭😭
Im coming 2 more years!!😊😊😊
Are these more on the outskirts of Portland? In a suburb? Because I can't find a 2bd for less than 2200 in Portland proper.
Yes, this is a suburb right aside of PDX!
How's the fishing?
I’m so thankful for this video!! Do you mind letting me know the apartment locations you toured? Thank you if possible!!
Locations in the description box!
Thinking about moving there as well.
It’s a dope place!
Did you go, Whts it like?

Spots are linked in the description!
Hi thanks for the video! What was the name of the second apartment?
Hi could you provide details of apt 3 please?
I’m moving there from the east side of Michigan too!! How’d you do your research for neighborhoods to live in?

Yes, these apartments are on the outskirts of the city.
Welcome to Portland
How much it cost for 2 bedroom apartment.
Hi Kori! Hope all is well. I am so glad I found your video! I am considering moving to Portland in February. I've been doing my research and have some questions. Some of them are personal, so do you mind if I reach out to you another way?
The only thing I hated about Portland was that I only saw 3 black people there in two weeks. Ok I'm exaggerating it was 4,lol.
are these in the Beaverton/Hillsboro area? or Portland proper?
What do you use for searching for an apartment?
I used an app called Apartment List
Congratulations
Thank you!
Yeah see I’m holding something against that sink in the bedroom for number 2 😂😂😂
Nah facts bc why did the builders even think to do that?? 💀
Hi Kori! Just discovered your channel recently, but I love your videos! I'll actually be starting at Nike in September and would love to learn more about the first, second, and sixth apartments you toured. Please feel free to DM me, if that's cool with you. Thanks!
portland is so fucking pretty and nice
Why in the WORLD would they put a sink in the bedroom? What?!?!?!?
I came to tell you what apartment I liked but girl, let me just say you are beautiful sis
Aw, thank you girl!
Wow expensive 🤔🤔🤔
Dope.
Please don’t move to Portland and raise our rent and increase traffic if you from Cali, Ny etc stay there jkjk (sorta) 😂
Do Portland got the best apartments or California
You could get a house for that price point
Yup I could, but that really isn't the purchase I'm trying to make at this point in my life
Awesome video. Imagine having flawless skin and perfect teeth.
Flawless in no way, but I appreciate your kind words!
Glad to see wearing masks....be safe out there plz! :)
That’s way too much for an apt
First you'll need lots if stuff before moving into your first apartment
I look at that same apartment didn't like it
By apartment hunting you do mean literally hunting apartments right? Like looting and rioting?
Move in...raise the rent, year, after year, AND keep on movíng
