When I was 16 My Uncle had a 67 Bronco 3 on the tree 289 V8 I would drive that thing everywhere he lifted it 3 inches and over size wheels and tires was a fun vehicle now it had bucket seats and bench in the back
“The gates got it pretty bad...”. Are you kidding? That thing is mint! Come to northern Canada where that level of rot happens in a vehicles 6th month!!!!
Man this brings back memories. Around 1991 I bought a '71 Bronco in faded red with a white top that had spent its life as a plow vehicle for a service station. I paid $1,500, way too much at the time given the terrible condition that it was in (plywood for a driver's side floor, no rockers, the driver's side sagged about 4 inches because the kick panel was rusted out, the front edge of the top was full of holes as was the windshield frame. Now that Broncos have exploded in value even with all the rust it had it would sell for $3k or more. I finally sold it around 1998 for $1,500 with a replacement roof, sills, floor and other parts, but still needing lots of work that I just didn't have the time or place to do.
Glad that you're back. Get it running, then do a complete evaluation on it's state of deterioration and proceed from there. The Bronco is very *hot* right now and has intrinsic value so a restoration may be worth persuing.
Don’t do a full restoration, do a preservation. Get it fully detailed and operational. It’s a time capsule and an unmolested survivor. Just my opinion.
This is proof that if we just venture out to see what is out there with an open mind , we may just find something that we may have once hoped for . Although I’m someone who’s interest is in the Jeep models , such as your CJ5 video , I still remember the Ford bronco . I appreciate this truck as I appreciate the Jeep . I do have an equal appreciation for the international harvester scout model 80 but I guess We will have to wait until the day you happen upon one in restorable condition . For now , wishing you luck on this solid looking truck and looking forward to future content .
Do a solid state conversion and be done with any ignition issues. Did one on my field find 60 Olds and cant be happier. Cool video and backstory as well.
Marvel Mystery Oil in the gas tank, (half a pint to a full tank) and some MMO down the cylinders when the plugs are removed would help out big time. Also some drops in the carb when starting a classic like that always helps.
Excellent find , fix up to your likeing also what should add to is a grey bottle of STP Total Treatment fuel injection cleaner in fuel now also every 3 months in fuel tank and run 89 or higher octane gas too! Plus new brake lines& parts to and fuel lines too ! Plus changed fluids to also big tune up and repaint nice Cherry Red plus White paint too even grill too! Replace battery cables too !
Recommendations? After you put floorboards in,rebuild the engine,.bore 010 if you can, forged rods(might already have them),flat top pistons,chrome-moly rings, one of my heads(milled .060,hardened seats, oversized stainless steel valves, viton valve seals,Weber(or Holley)32/36 or Holley 350 cfm)268 cam,headers,dura-spark 2 electronic ignition.Or just turbo the thing. Just don't cut the rear fenders. It ruins them. And see that divider behind the seat? I was made to be the pickup version, not the station wagon. If you V-8 the thing, you'll have to replace the springs,it'll be nose-heavy and will never steer right.
It was originally a Half Cab, you can tell by the metal bulkhead behind the seat. Wagons didn't come with that panel. Nice find, I have a 68 same colors in a Half Cab
This bronco is mint RESTORE if you want your investment to climb and it will if you do it right and leave it 100& stock don"t be a fool these are not available anymore unless you are lucky and you sir can be lucky if you play this right.
HAY DAM THEY DON'T MAKE'EM LIKE THAT ANYMORE MY OLD BOSS MAN HAD A'67 WITH A CANVAS TOP STANDARD SHIFT 3 SPEED ON THE COLUMN 170 6 CYLINDER ORANGE IN COLOR HE PUT A SET OF WHITE SPOKE RIMS WITH 12 x 31.5 /15 AND WITH THOSE BIG TIRES IT WOULD FLOAT IT WAS A NICE BRONCO SPENT A LOT OF NIGHTS RABBIT HUNTING TAKE CARE AND BE SAFE
I'd restore it. If the vin starts with u13 it is the roadster model only made in years 66-68, making it really rare especially in original condition. The panel behind the seat should have only been in the pickup and roadster versions. My dad has an early 66 roadster, he's the second owner. Still runs and is fun to drive around town.
Not in bad shape for being an Illinois vehicle:-) I would just restore it a bit aka new tires and mechanicals, a trip to the body shop for some rust repair and paint- and daily drive it:-). I'd also get rid of the snow plow.
Nice for 10K+/- it needs $25K to make it a driver. Engine swap (needs a V8), new body panels, weather stripping, paint, tires and wheels, instrument wiring, lights, door components, radiator, brakes, transmission, transfer case, steering components, suspension, seats and interior panels, dashboard etc. all adds up. But it will be worth $45K+ when done.
Would you tell us how you found out about the rummage sale ? Was it in your local paper, online, you just heard about it from a friend..? We're all here trying to get our own vintage bronco. Any way you can help us find our own would be very helpful....
Thank you all for watching part one! What do you think we should do? Should we lift the bronco? Restore the bronco? Leave it as it is?
Clean it up but leave it original. There are very few unmolested Broncos left like that. Preservation not restoration
@@swamperdogoutdoors I like that line!
Sweet clean it up and flip to Jay leno's garage
never lift a bronco. its dangerous to drive
It supposed to be a manual transmission with 4x4 it a auto am I correct
When I was 16 My Uncle had a 67 Bronco 3 on the tree 289 V8 I would drive that thing everywhere he lifted it 3 inches and over size wheels and tires was a fun vehicle now it had bucket seats and bench in the back
At 10k (or less), that is a steal for an unmolested Bronco in that condition. Awesome find
“The gates got it pretty bad...”. Are you kidding? That thing is mint! Come to northern Canada where that level of rot happens in a vehicles 6th month!!!!
I live in New York so I know what you mean
Same in Michigan !!!
Nice find. Keep it stock. Low mileage survivors are getting harder to find.
Preservation, detail and drive. All of us will be envious. Great find!

What a gem…. Why can’t I find something like this.
i like how they opened the glove box and music started to play.

Three words flip 2 Jay leno's. Garage

Agree 100%
Take the plow off and do a stabilization of rig
@@rsprockets7846 id keep the plow on it because that's part of this thing story
What a nice looking old Bronco and great video as well. Looking forward to seeing what you have in store for it!

What a great find that thing is clean and all there I love it I am totally jelly
with the new bronco coming out, the value of the old ones especially the 60's broncos will rise exponentially! I would restore it.
Do not cut rear wheel wells!!!!!!!!
Not worth restoring in that condition it needs to have all the minor fixes done and preserved.
Do a solid state conversion and be done with any ignition issues. Did one on my field find 60 Olds and cant be happier. Cool video and backstory as well.
Always, on point-style distributors. Mid-70s with the blue tab modules for SBF. Conversion is very simple. Did several of them years ago.

Underrated channel. I love your cinematography. Subbed and liked
I have a 1911 model t its awesome 👌
OMG,what a find!!
Awww man! I Love that Bronco!
What a great find! (If I was into fixing up old vehicles) I couldn't pass that up if it was reasonably priced.

Did you do a Marti report? Several things make this a 67. Those white signal lights, the bumpers, does it have vacuum wipers, driver only side mirror?
What a great find! Love it.
i owned 10 of these at one time
Saw,one from an airport maintenance garage that had an original pto driven #10,000 winch on the front .
Restore it back operational and leave it ...it will be worth more than a full resto ....all the ads in a 20 min video really suck !!
