- This is the maiden flight of my UMX Pitts S-1S! This is an absolutely fantastic little plane from our friends at Horizon Hobby and E-flite. This model has been upgraded from a 2S battery power system to a 3S battery system and now includes SAFE (and SMART) technology:

One of your best!! Mostly for the situational hilarious commentary 🤣. If that tree had a little sap on its pines. Nature's fly/umx trap. Talk about timing, just received the umx Pitts myself, maiden tomorrow.. I think. That S-58? was pink!! The owner/pilot must be a fan of Riptide's Sreamin' Mimi 🤣!!

Hey thanks brother for checking in, glad you enjoyed the trip to the field! Yeah, I was struggling staying focused when I saw that lovely old gal strutting her stuff 🤣😂✌!! Who could resist that bright shiny object in the sky 😉! And to be fair, you don't see S-58's very much anymore, so to say I was distracted would be an understatement! Oh, and the Pitts flew pretty darn good too 😁! All in all, a great time at the field! Fair winds and happy landings to you my friend 😎🤙🤠

Hey there Jeff, thanks for checking in brother! Glad you liked the flight, she's a bit different on 3S for sure. I too have an OG Pitts, but I never did a video on it. Might have to do that someday. Happy landings and all the best to you my friend!
I enjoyed the maiden, during my time in service I spent some time in those Calico Mt's while at Ft. Irwin. I feel my 850mm Pitts is a awesome flyer as well and the 2200 3s gives me 9 to 11 minutes depending on throttle usage. I also do not use safe, however AS3X on the windy days does help if dialed in properly during binding.

Hi LiPo, If you want to check on the ground is SAFE is enabled just flip the model upside down, if the ailerons are at full tilt then SAFE is on, if they level out once you stop moving the model then SAFE is off. - Birger

Merci Jean-Pierre ! Oui en effet, il faut être très prudent au décollage avec ces petits avions, mais mec, une fois en l'air ils volent comme dans un rêve ! Bon vent et bon vent à toi mon ami 😁👍

Do you think this one needs more space to fly than the old one? I have a Beast 3d and the Waco at the moment but have never had the Pitts.
Hey there J S! I'm sorry for the late reply, but I just noticed this! I don't think this model needs any more space than the old one, in fact I know it doesn't, especially after flying it quite a bit. It's the perfect aerobatic plane for small spaces, parks, parking lots, etc. All the best my friend, you'll love this plane for sure, it's a winner!
