    The addictive quality of food is gone once you stop cooking with salt, oil and sugar.

    Love Dr. Klaper. So easy to listen to. I agree about the oily food. It's so hard to get some steamed vegis in a restaurant w/o oil or butter on them. I ordered a baked potato and, asked for it w/o any oil or salt and the kitchen manager came out to tell me that the cook said he could do it but I wouldn't like it. I just said, I would actually prefer it. It kind of became a big deal, at the table, that I was causing a scene or something but, I just kept quiet and said that if it wasn't any trouble, I'd love it plain and 2 orders of plain steamed vegis. It was all wonderful. They came with a tiny bit of salsa, but good.

      It’s funny that they think they should tell you that you’re not going to like the food that you specifically ordered. XO

    I find stop using salt the hardest but I think it is like when I stopped using sugar. Everything started to taste normal after I stopped eating it.

    What does Dr K think about using oils for the skin and hair? I’m African American and use these oils to add moisture to my hair and skin. Thanks!

      I’m not a doctor, but I believe I’ve heard that that should not cause any problems. I’d search a little more on UA-cam. Not sure if he has been asked that in a video before or not.

      smilez4dayz13 Hi , I know you asked this a year ago, but I just saw it and thought I'd tell you: if you go on Dr. Esselstyn's website, on his FAQ section he has the answer to your question - bottom line, yes it is okay to use oils on skin. Hope this helps! Cheers!

    What do you sautee your vegetables with instead of oil? I've tried water, broth, soy sauce, nothing makes it taste as good as a drop of olive oil. Suggestions?

      He's not promoting a low sodium diet, he's just disapproving of excessive sodium intake. He said a sprinkle of salt on your dinner is fine, but we get enough sodium naturally found in many foods that we don't need to go and add a whole lot more.

    This guys opinion of olive oil is in the minority because almost all science says otherwise

    • @bluevelvet772
      @bluevelvet772 3 роки тому

      He appeals to nature, moderate amounts of olive oil is healthy and a cheap fat source to absorb fat soluble vitamins, these doocs don't even allow 10 nuts a day, fat phobia.

    • @Metal-Possum

      Why not just eat the fucking olives whole instead, oil and all?

    • @bluevelvet772
      @bluevelvet772 3 роки тому +1

      @@Metal-Possum because I can't fry tofu in whole olives or drizzle whole olives on a salad. I think using only small amounts like a tablespoon or 2 a day is healthy but beyond that it's just excess calories from fat which could be bad.

    • @bluevelvet772
      @bluevelvet772 3 роки тому +1

      @freshwater93 I agree but no need for the anecdotes, olive oil in moderate amounts is scientifically proven to be heart healthy end of, and having too much is bad because of how calorically dense it is and easy to consume could cause unwanted weight gain, just don't deep fry everything and that shouldn't be a problem, I used to think it was bad but changed my mind due to the science, some people don't have that ability apparently stuck in their beliefs.
