Purchased the R in May. 2.5 acres and it cuts great and fast. Satisfied with the decision. Keep up the great work with your videos and thank you for sharing your knowledge!

I put a linear motor and zip tied it under the pan where the front lights are and ran a piece of cable to an i bolt i put through the plastic chute and used the cutout in the dash for a 2 way switch and now i can raise and lower my chute as needed.
Funny that on the 530R and 545R with the HC decks that the scalp wheels are still the cheaper version, like the 42A decks. Great video explaining this machine. If you have an acre or 2 to mow, and you want to have a very nice machine for around 7-8k, the 5Rs are a great fit. If you don’t care for the larger tire, HC deck, headlights, taller seat, and rubber under foot, the Z530M might be your best value in the Ztracks under 10k. The 515E is also a great option, you just miss out on the comfort glide seat, which is a huge upgrade.

Your videos and reviews alone lead me to the Z530M I just purchased. Love it. The only thing from the R I will be adding to my M will be the LED lighting system. Do you guys ship all over the US if I purchase the lighting from you?
Good video. Just bought one. I am handicapped having a weak stepping process so it will be interesting to see how to best get into the seat. May need a stepping aide. I will rig something up that is safe. Can carry my walker on thy roll bar.
I just wanted to say that you REALLY know your equipment as evidenced by many of your videos I have viewed. There is allegedly a John Deere Dealer (Pape Machinery, part of Pape Group) in Hawaii (3, actually on the islands of Hawaii, Maui and Oahu (where I live). However, according to the John Deere website, it shows no dealers in Hawaii.
After viewing your video on the Z5 vs Z3, I really wanted to buy the Z530R. The Big Box store, Loews, here in Hawaii only carries the Z530M. Because of shipping costs, the asking price is $6,229.00 vice $5,999 in the Continental (lower 47) US. However, since I am eligible for Loews 10% military discount, I would save $623.00. But, the M version doesn't have all the bells and whistles that the R version has.
Actually, I only have 1.3 acre lot of that, probably only 1 acre is grass, so I suppose that the Z330R would suffice. I am 75 and I really want this mower to be my last purchase.
Anyway, I would appreciate your thoughts in this matter.
P.S. I would have no means of transporting my mower 19-20 miles for repair or service. Sears is gone and they were the only ones that came out to your home to service your lawn tractor (currently own a 6 year old Craftsman pro series w/46" deck, Kohler 24 hp lawn tractor with
Can the hydrostatic system be serviced? That’s about the right sized machine but I like to service my equipment so it lasts! Thank you for the informative video!
If you take one of the drive levers and move it in and out kind of fast 5 or 6 times it will turn the hour meter into a digital readout of the rpms. Dont have to go all the way in just so it gets off the safety switch and back on.

I'm wondering if a Z530M toy is available like John Deere has for most of their other offerings?
I believe the only John Deere zero turn toy made was of a z930 in 1/32 scale. I don't think they are still in production today but probably available on eBay.
I drive a Z345R. It's a great mower. I see several things I like about this new machine, particularly the electronic display, the deck height pin and the lights. However, the throttle lever looks like it could break unless it's reinforced. My Z345R lever is made of steel.
No suspension and a cheap stamped deck. For what they’re charging for that mower, John Deere can do better. j/s🤦🏻♂️
