    Aja Dang just shared how she uses a tracker in her Passion Planner for paying down debt with up close images. Glad you guys mentioned her! Loved this long-form video!

    Paula is so great! I look through this channel for her videos specifically. She is very personable and offers wonderful advice that is actionable and not generic. I'm going to incorporate this into my passion planner because I realize I need it to track my goals and personal/professional development more than my schedule.

    Best tip from my mom: Pay yourself first (emergency fund, IRA, 401K, etc) then your debts. Afterwards you budget what's left but you always pay yourself first so you build up for your retirement. I wish I'd listened to her in my 20s.

      Yes and live below your means. And don't live paycheck to paycheck.
      You shouldn't be planning a big expensive wedding if you're already in debt!! Go to city hall and be married.
      One of the easiest places to save money is groceries. Don't eat out. Pack lunch. Don't drink. Eat less. Look at each expense. Is it essential to life?
      Subscriptions, entertainment, are they luxuries or necessary? Find cheaper ways to do things. Friend can cut your hair?

    Aja Dang's financial trackers are the best tip I have gotten. They let you see the amount of your progress and you get the satisfaction of filling in boxes as you go. It really keeps me motivated.

    I discovered this in the middle of my own budget reboot! I especially like using the dot pages for charts. Sure, I could do those in Excel, but I like the more tangible approach.

    • @PassionPlannerVideo
      @PassionPlannerVideo  4 роки тому

      Exactly!!! Some people like Excel or apps like it and it works for them. But for many others, many people use their planner more regularly and it's easy to check back in with. Although it may take more time to set up, they'll use it more often!

    I wish I had thought of this! I did a snow avalanche to paydown my student loans before going into my MBA. However I did contact my loan company and get an Excel of all the payments whether they were going to principal or interest. Then added columns for whether they were extra payments or when I was in the MBA they were deferment payments. With my tax money I'm about to pay that off and will be debt free! But love The visuals.

    How could you use the dotted pages in the back to track debts with big differences in amount? When the numbers are in the 10s of thousands for student loans, car debt is in thousands and credit cards are in hundreds? any ideas??
