I get asked frequently what we are using for Geography.
I love to share that we are using a workbook from Evan-Moor that was included in our @timberdoodleco Non-Religious kits.
This workbook could not be easier to use. Honestly, my 1st grader barely needs my assistance with it anymore.
I love that the Skill Sharpeners Geography series incorporates so many different skills and also that it brings in enough information to check the Social Studies box.
I did get crazy and added an Evan-Moor map study to our Mondays this year because my kids are on a map-loving kick.
I feel like our geography box is checked!
Not only that but it is easy to use and easy to do.
Anything that makes homeschool life easier while still providing a wide range of good info is a yes for me!

I feel like the homeschool world is divided on workbooks. Tell me, love 'em or leave 'em?
Not all workbooks are created equal. Some are lacking but these skill sharpener ones are really good. They bring the real world in.
Completely agree
I am off to classes in a bit, I will have to watch all this later. Geography is a great topic. One essay I give my college kids is how does geography impact the Ancient World. I cover it in several of my lectures and videos. It goes well beyond just memorizing places, rivers, mountains, etc.
Love this!
I have been looking at these and going back and forth. I am definitely going to get for next year. Thank you for doing a flip through!
😁 happy to help!
The Skill Sharpner Science is awesome too. I'm sad they don't go through middle school.
It would be awesome if they did!
Absolutely love your videos! We haven't used the geography books form EM yet, but I def. want to start next year. So thank you for this review.
😁 happy to share!!
We have this book also for my 1st grade girl! I love the skill sharpeners because they are in color. The only problem I have with Evan Moor is they make way too much so I buy way more than we can possibly get through. Haha I have so many and I rush her to get a lot done each day. I'm going to have to tone it down on the amount I buy but we definitely love them!! We just picked up a real world writing one for next year! Looks so cute!
My big girl is using real world writing!
Thanks for this! Do you think these would be suitable for Australian kids or are they heavily focussed on US geography? Thanks!
I think they'd be great. They aren't heavily U.S. centric.
Thanks so much!@@MakingEverydayMagic

We love Evan Moor to fill in gaps with our core curriculum or things she needs more practice on.
They're just so easy to use.
This is us... I don't think I've ever used a workbook as a "curriculum" per se. But I like them for reinforcement and skill practice. We've used these skill sharpeners to include some basic geography terms and map skills into our cultural studies.
Does it use millions of years? I've been debating these or black and white EM geo books.
I don't understand the question.
@@MakingEverydayMagic does it discuss age of the earth or anything evolution related?
Nope.
@@MakingEverydayMagic thank you!
