That run by Adrian Peterson was my favorite of his career! "Shoves away one, shoves away another, and BLASTS his way into the endzone!"
Such a toss up between that and the steelers game where he just trucked over a cb, can't recall name of him. Dude was INSANE.
It was also the most excited Al Michaels got for this entire game, haha. He seemed so sedate and kind of mailing it in...until that run happened.
Hands down... u put the best Viking vids... SKOL.
I agree. 9mm sleeping pill was pretty good too but then he just stopped uploading.
The highlight of Brady Quinn summed up his career with that near throw attempt which resulted in a fumbled TO
I've been watching so many Vikings games you've uploaded recently. Even ones I've seen multiple times. SKOL!
Great mic'd up moment from this game, after AD's insane run he's on the bench going, "The Browns coulda had me but they passed me by!"
Thank you funkydunkleman for making videos like these, love to watch them.
I'm just here for 8:05
Good GRIEF that was a SICK ASS RUN. WOW. A.Peterson was like a Freight Train combined with a Gazelle. FAST, UNSTOPPABLE, ELUSIVE, COULD OUT RUN YOU 99 times out of 100. He truly is a LEGEND. Yes that's coming from a Packers fan. I may love GB, but I also have RESPECT for the amazing players our rivals had. W.Payton, B.Sanders, A.Peterson, R.Moss, M.Singletary, and many more. I could make a huge list going back to Fran Tarkenton, Chuck Foreman, Bud Grant as the Coach. I was a huge fan of the Vikings back in the 70's.
Same
That's exactly what I was going to time stamp to, lol. I had to go back and see that a few times. A once in a generation talent imo.
Fun fact: This game features two members of the 2,000-yard rushing club in Adrian Peterson and Jamal Lewis. This has only happened five other times (Dickerson/Sanders in '91 and '93; Lewis/Johnson in '08; Peterson/Johnson in '08 and '12).
thank you for all these dope vikings videos, SKOL!!
The tenacity Favre has...... how motivating the dude was. Miss watchin the guy sling it.
The ONE and ONLY time I ever considered cheering for Minnesota was during his first season with the Vikings. I am a Packer fan, but at the time ALL the drama they came from this just made being a fan tough. I still cheered for Green Bay don't get me wrong, but when Favre slammed Ted Thompson twice in his first two games vs. Green Bay I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little happy for him. However BOTH sides were at fault. I just really hated how it was handled. But Favre got his "revenge" against GB. Then karma kicked his butt, as well as a CHEAP ASS sAints team. Again I'd be lying if I said I wasn't cheering for Favre to win that game. Now all is back to normal. I'm back to my comfort zone. Go Pack Go, and BOO to the rest. However I DO respect the hell out of our division. It's called the BLACK AND BLUE division for a reason. It kicks butt and EVERY TEAM is capable of beating the other team at ANY given time. The Packers, Vikings, Bears, and Lions are the toughest teams in the NFL when they play each other. Those rivalries are like no others.
From a life-long Vikings fan, lots of respect for your comment Edster III. Love our division! It was awesome to have Favre on our team. What a character, and what an incredible talent, Slingin' it like that at age 39/40. Great times!
Watching back these highlight films from this magical season brings back awesome memories and reminds me of four things:
1.) Our defensive line was something to be feared. Unbelievable pass rush.
2.) The way Brett Favre played was astonishing. His passion and toughness was really somthin'.
3.) Peterson was a stud. Too bad he was prone to putting the ball on the turf during clutch moments though. :(
4.) Percy Harvin was so dangerous (even after recently learning he was high during every game). How nuts!!
Harvin was a special player from day one. Too bad injuries and mental demons derailed what should have been a HOF career.
That run by Peterson is what I remember from this game. It was spectacular.
So many times we should have won a super bowl. Something always happened. Love what Favre done for us. Kirk, O-line get your act together pleeeeeaaaase!!! Anyway, SKOL! SKOL! 💯💯
As a Browns fan with a best friend that was a die hard Vikings fan, I remember this game.... 9:16 especially hurts. Not gonna lie tho, I respected Favre and was happy to see him do his thing even for the Vikings against my Brownies. The good ol’ days tho am I right folks?
This Vikings team was something to be reckoned with
Certainly one of AP's best TDs of his career.
This is the dream Vikings team in the modern era. If this team stayed together they would have multiple Super Bowls
Damn Favre made Rice and Shiancoe productive
Any chance we can get an every John Randle Sack montage video? No one else on UA-cam has any broadcast highlight footage of him
I don't have every John Randle game, but I agree a video focusing on him is overdue and I could certainly put one together. I did make an hour long compilation of Vikings sacks from all eras, so that could hold you over for now. ua-cam.com/video/Pcqy4Y8wqgg/v-deo.html
Big Dogs are in the hooouuuuse!
yep! that run by A.D was next level!! the best run of his career! & just beast!!!! dude is 1st ballot h.o.f!
percy harvin!... gotta say! the BEST wr rookie in franchise history!! dude was the total package!! wr/rb/ kr/pr.....dude was a beast!!!
Literally there was only one weakness on this team and it cost them the Superbowl, that dang offensive line.
What? Offensive line didn't drop the ball 5 times. They were decent, heada and shoulders above anything we've seen since, actually.
@@nathaniellarson8 Clearly you arn't talking about the 2009 Minnesota Vikings with all pro wide receivers Sidney Rice and Percy Harvin. And an offensive line that have up the most sacks that eventually cost them the trip to the Superbowl.
@@strive4252 No. What cost them a trip to the Superbowl was the 6 turnovers. The o-line might have been the "weakness" of that team, but we would kill for it right now. Favre caused a lot of sacks by extending plays and being old. They had nothing close to a Pat Elflien on their line.
@@nathaniellarson8 I'm not saying our line ain't bad now, I'm saying it was the weakness of the 2009 team. Honestly this such a silly and pointless debate. It's not worth the argument.
@@strive4252 yeah, I guess I've just never heard anyone say they were the reason for the loss.
1:24 when Brett Favre pushes you from behind, you turn around, give him a high five and say thank you lol
They were former teammates in Green Bay
7:06 Wanna get away? Now you can...
That run by Peterson was straight filthy. I remember the next week he was on the cover of sports illustrated giving that dude the nasty stiff arm 😂😂 so dope
I was in Vegas during this game and had money on it. I came out of a gospel brunch and saw AD stiff arm someone and I really felt the lords presence
Man this shoulda been the year to win the super bowl
Do I hear Brian Billick on commentary?
Billick and Thom Brennaman.
Ima browns fan, came here for Favre highlights. Leaving with laughing/ crying thoughts 😅😒😰
I was at this game , after the game I got harrassed a little bit , and my Jared Allen jersey I had on didn't help much either 🤣
My God. I had such high hopes for Quinn. What a letdown he was.
Love how he called a turnover and then it happens.
To bad farve didn't start out a viking, vikes would've won a few SB if he had , also, his style & tenacious approach matches the Vikings tradition
I went to this game wearing my Farve Packers jersey. I got booed by all of the Browns fans.
Are we all going to ignore the fact that the Browns didn’t score an offensive touchdown until that day
Jeez, one good play and they praised the Cleveland defense like they were the second coming of the purple people eaters.
Man. Green Bay goona always have to feel that.
You didn't add the part where it was his first start as a viking
2009 was a great year for the Vikes, should of went to the SB.
Vikings white road pants are soooo much better than the purple ones.
I bet Favre could still play. Only problem is he would quickly get injured at his age.
obviously, all said & done...despite bountygate/ the bs superbowl....the Vikings were the best team in football. & were fukin robbed!..by bountygate!!
Love the videos #RIPNFCCG2009 They put a bounty on him, but in the end, he facked himself. Shoulda ran. 3 & 15. Could have got 5 yards. Longwell would have probably missed the 50 yard kick away tho :(
If they hadn't fucked him up so much he would have ran...I saw pics of his knee and ankle after the game and that shit was as purple as the jersey he was wearing.
@@baracksays9401 I remember seeing that to, Favre even said, if they were in the superbowl, it was a high chance he wouldn't of been able to play.
I miss Phil Loadholt!!! The last GREAT LINEMAN OF THE VIKINGS!!!
Joe Thomas a hof but I still can’t believe browns took him over AP.
lol he slapped the refs butt after Harvin’s tuddy.
How bad was Brady Quinn gez
Am I wrong, or did the Vikings have a terrible punt return defense for many years?
Wow the browns weren’t a laughing stock, crazy they actually had decent teams before they went down hill lol
The what if season. Sucks, I know.
Seriously lol only 110 yard and a td against the “browns”?
That OL was terrible... Almost as bad as last seasons.
Haha, not quite. Loadholt had a very good rookie season, Sullivan and Mckinnie were above average that season, Hutchinson was a stud, Herrera was a ? That team was pretty loaded. I still get mad when I think about the NFC championship game against the Saints poor coaching decisions, 7 turnovers and some horrible officiating and we still should have had the game won.
I thought they had a decent line but i thought they were much better at run blocking.
O-line that year was solid, from what I recall. Better at run blocking than pass blocking though. The only time I remember getting legit pissed about the o-line was the Sunday night game against Carolina where Julius Peppers put Bryant McKinnie on rollerskates and Favre had 0 time all night. That was the same night where Chilly tried to pull him early and Favre basically lost all faith in Chilly from there on out.
The O-line was subaverage all through the Peterson era.
Legendary Coaches?? HAHAHAHA
Childress was Not and NEVER will be legendary.
