I think we have much different dirt to work with then they do Jordan…. Bc clay isn’t the same as Alberta clay. Never mind whatever that lumpy junk he had is.
It doesn’t pack well without moisture. Keep in mind this is close to pure clay. Not like the clay we have in bc which still has mineral content. Even if it did have moisture it would crack as it rains and dries.
We do the same, pure clay is like butter in the sun after rain. A thin layer of sand is a huge difference and the clay will creep trough eventually, making the layer concrete alike.
Protip: You shouldn't be able to clear the jumps that easy when its fresh. Once they've had weeks/months to set, you're gonna be sending those to flat without trying! When it's freshly built, you should be casing the landings!
Love it! I've been an excavator operator for about 18 years and watching your learning experience and how the trail comes together is fantastic. I've only had the chance to build trails with machines a few times and man is it fun compared to civil and mining duties!
Nice build. Our family ran into you and Yuka at Bright. Actually my wife and two boys did, I was climbing because i couldn't get a shuttle ticket! Keep the content rolling in. Keen to see the end of this project.
Holy shit man! You are becoming my F…..N hero!!! I have been building and maintaining trails for around 15 years, I run excavator and snowcat, and you have surpassed my expectations for your machine skills!!! Keep ripping it up man!
It’s so great to see your content again. I watched your channel all summer last summer while I was injured and it helped motivate me to get back out on the trails. Thanks so much for being an inspiration to this community!
After digging with a shovel for 15 years I've found myself finally in the cab of a digger this year. I would love to have a tilt bucket like yours! Building crazy shapes without one is so hard. Keep up the good work dude! Can't wait to see the results.
It may took a year but it was worth the weight as the saying goes all good things come to those who wait on this video was definitely a good thing love you hard work at Erik Never mind slow and steady wins the race slow and shredded puts a smile on your face lol

Hi Eric I was lucky enough to see you in derby when you were riding with Yuka. a few months earlier I was even lucky enough to ride at meadow bank due to a close friend who's related to the owner of the place. even driving up in the buggy to the top was a mission. love your videos hope to see more vids like this
Dude! We did the same thing to our taco Hoochie! We ended up having to drain the tank with the fuel pump because the drain on the tank was plugged and would not flow very well. But a flush of the primary filter and replacement of the secondary filter it fired up just fine just like you guys! And I was the one who put the petrol in the diesel can but I was under the impression it was diesel! So a tip for the not so wise always smell your diesel before putting it in your excavator!
Also love seeing you guys going you own paths while keeping the relationship nice and loving, I mean love this kind of relationship, you are an amazing example for me thank you
while you are at tassie did you ride air ya garn at blue derby and hazy dayz they are the two main jump lines. also try the st helens tracks on send helens.
2 things I have on my bucket list. Going out there and riding trails again!! I’ve been away from riding for many years!! This has definitely lit a fire in me. And it’s at a vineyard also!!! Thank you!!
Looks great Eric! I will definitely have to make the trip from up north in Penguin down to Meadowbank to ride your new trail. If you guys are still in the state, I’d be happy to show you around the trails we have on the Northwest coast of Tassie 😎
You and Yuka's video are my favorite MTB youtube content. Seth is #2! Whenever I see you guys post I have to stop what I'm doing and watch. It's my guilty pleasure. Keep up the videos, the story aspect keep me hooked.
So far, you're the only comment I've seen that gets it lol I saw him clearing that fresh line so easily... like WTF Usually use my EMTB for trail testing, and even then I wanna be casing freshly built stuff!
Great to see you’re still alive. We thought you’d got lost in Australia somewhere 😂. Trail is going to be amazing. Looking forward to riding it on our next Tassie trip!
Hey Bcpov, I have a bike park I wanted you to visit, but ill get to that later. I think you should do a follower series, where we pick bike parks for you to visit and you give us your opinion on it. Just an idea though, I want you to visit Trestle Bike Park Colorado. love you channel bye 😊( Like if you Like the idea )
great video eric. you have inspired me to build some trails on my property. if, you are bored you can build some trails on my property in arizona. i'll even get you a tractor! lol.
super cool. Know what you mean about learning. I had a mini ex for a week while digging out my pool. Man it felt so slow the first couple of times. By the end I was getting good, just in time to return it.

Excited for bc pov
looks pretty cool! But why don't you put clay on top as the surface? That will pack better than the sandy soil wouldn't it?

@@BCpov Where and what is that post wrap you used on Stone Starlet? It's called RESIST but I cannot find it anywhere!

I can image moving dirt around and making things flat might be a little less exciting 🙂
Dude you got the hang of the excavator quick! Also, very relatable watching you lose your mind in the digger. Loved it
haha, it can be slightly mind numbing in there!

your editing style has such a distinctive personality
Great video 👍🚵🏻 I’ve missed your updates. Keep them coming ok forward to this trail build
I wonder if you and yuka could do videos explaining your go pros/ mics and the equipment you use and why? This is a minefield for beginners.
Once that dirt firms up prepare to over clear those by a mile haha. Amazing looking trail so far!
So far, you're the only comment I've seen that gets it lol I saw him clearing that fresh line so easily... like WTF
Usually use my EMTB for trail testing, and even then I wanna be casing freshly built stuff!
You should come too Perth in Western Australia there’s this well known double black jump line called rampage
Great to see you back. I have been missing your videos.
For your first time in an excavator you killed it!
I love these clips. They show that there's much to trailbuilding than meets the eye❤
YESSSSSS A NEW VID!!!
I’ve booked on to a ride day here in July. Can’t wait to check it out
Looks super fun. I'd love to get the hang of working with one of those as well. It's been all by hand for me so far.
so cool to see you leave your trail building mark in Australia, hopefully i can get down to ride it one day
Great to see you’re still alive. We thought you’d got lost in Australia somewhere 😂. Trail is going to be amazing. Looking forward to riding it on our next Tassie trip!
I'm really looking forward to hitting those Meadowbank trails. They look sweet!
Tassie local here. I know the trail you worked on. Was cool to come across your build video!
Man I love building trails. There's nothing like figuring out a new shape, tool or technique! Great video
All jumps tables, easy to roll through, and safe to case…sounds like my kind of line.
Exited to see this video! I already know this video is gonna be awesome
I love ur videos u are by far my favourite mtb youtuber
Great video Eric. Glad you got the excavator figured out without incident 😀
Nice one Eric! looks like it flows well so far,
its ok to be depressed. its good for you, it makes you appreciate the good times.
Never thought id see the day BCPOV comes to my home and become a tradie using machinery in tassie.
Such a great video. The trail is looking amazing well done Eric! Love seeing you guys in tassie exploring 🙏🤙
Damn, gas in the diesel tank 😳
@BCpov when are you going to uploud the next half of this build?
A compactor plate after you’re rolling compression passes really gives the surface a hardened finish
If you're in Australia, you must go to Melrose, an amazing MTB town. It's a few hours up from Adelaide in South Australia.

Amazing how some can just take a blank piece of dirt and transform it into smiles!
So good to hear what’s happening. Have you been able to get to the mean range MTB park?
The new track, flow monster is great.
Dude! Time to market those trail building skills.
You should print out a shot of you in the excavator and put a description under it: "Day One in Trail-Building School" :-D
Love this video and if your every in nj or around that area try going to mountain creek bike park
Super ça 👍
just moved to bc! would love to get to know some of these trails! i'm actually in smithers, :D
Awesome effort to make something sweet out of a blank canvas.
Awesome!
its my favorite mtb i love watching rollups on gopro
It would be a dream for many of us to build a trail like this.
Your next video should be a compilation of noises that Yuka makes
I have loved sand and dirt since I was a small boy
Can you pls go to New Zealand because right now it’s skii season and the bike park is still open here in Christchurch.
Loved the video tho to me janky Northshore features will always be more appealing that dirt-highways ❤
you should build a sark fin, this was your best feature on your last build.
cool, was wondering what you were up too in that thing
early morning bcpov love to see it :D
great video eric. you have inspired me to build some trails on my property. if, you are bored you can build some trails on my property in arizona. i'll even get you a tractor! lol.
Was not expecting to see Simon on a yt video 🤙
He's got a UA-cam channel now, Blacksnake trails
Haha you just never know where I'll pop up Dutchy 😅
It was fun to watch his hair grow from a buzz to normal again
Awesome cool
Nice video!❤
You should come to dawson for the next enduro in august i don’t know the exact date yet, i will update you when i get more information
Agust 5th 2023 9:00am (kids)
Great stuff! I guess I have to save up for a new toy.
I'll come over and "help" 🙂
super cool. Know what you mean about learning. I had a mini ex for a week while digging out my pool. Man it felt so slow the first couple of times. By the end I was getting good, just in time to return it.
looks sick dude
Nice work ! What was the app you used to calculate de degree of the slope?
Quite entertaining watching the struggle against getting our soil to actually do what you want…it never does
Where is the rest of the build for the trail?
Great video! Did you end up moving to Australia?
No new videos since two month. Is every okay with Yuka und you?
Yuka posted recently.
I was wondering the same thing.
BCpov, where are you? Where's Yuka. I've been missing your content. Is overthink ok? Are you stuck in Tasmania?
love your content
You should go to the meehan! its great
Nice.
i think maybe a trailer could help with moving the digger
Bcpov why haven’t you made a video in so long
When is the next part?
I’m a noob so i was surpriced you need a seatbelt in a machine that goes like 2mph😂 And i feel like if it tips over you want the freedom to get out and not be stuck. But again, i’m a noob
