Sweet! I mean, sure, you can do the Convolution IR stuff in Logic's Space Designer ... but it's so much cooler when you're not stuck with an interface from 1995.

When I plonk a Valhalla reverb on, it always sounds good, but I can't figure out a Hybrid Reverb setting that sounds good on the Send or the Master.
nice simple and it slaps. playing around root fifth and octave with little pickup figures to approach the tonic like the halfstep up to make a chromatic approach and the arpeggiated octave walk down on 4-b3 (kinda minor pentatonic feel)
Do any 3rd-party reverbs come even remotely close to how awesome and organic this sounds, now 3 years later? This has recalibrated my brain on how good a reverb can be.
I have plenty of stuff that’s blows the algorithmic portion out of the water but the Convolution portion just negated any use I may have had for Max For Lives Convolution Reverb... the EQ is so much better and the tempo synch on the pre day/bass mono functions are really smart.
2020 was a bad year for me but it was not bad due to the virus. A lot of people also had 3 month holidays due to having diabetes just made me feel worse. But the wives paranoia about the virus was much worse than the virus itself. But I agree with you about hybrid reverb. I have already downloaded some free impulse responses, including guitar cabinets. But then I want to pass the signal to convolution Reverb Pro.

@@tommeSVK A wild guess is that they haven't had time to work on any kind of plan for that yet. Getting Live 11 to final release has probably been priority #1, we don't even have official big sur compatibility yet.
I was surprised that Hybrid Reverb doesn't leverage the excellent library of impulse responses that came with the M4L convolution reverb in earlier versions of Live. It would be useful to manage user IRs properly - particularly if you've built up a large collection of third-party IRs, as I have - and be able to merge libraries and add additional categories, rather than just having to go through the tedious process of finding the audio file and dropping it on to the interface. There's nothing in the manual about doing this; am I missing something?
@@headfirstonly I prefer that workflow actually.. There is much more space in the file browser for navigating file in the main browser and that is where all the other presets, samples etc. are so why not also IRs?

Went to use some of my old IR that were included with convo pro ….. Gone now …. Anyone know where the IR are stored so I can pull them into this hybrid reverb ?
An impulse response is, in most cases, just a PCM audio file (like a wav) and many convolution reverbs can (and should) allow you to use your own IRs. This is just using a sample instead of an actual Impulse Response which has a very unique character. Still really cool.
@@aeko yes, you can use a lot alternative, some of which even free, but perfect daw can and even should have all of it in "one box", i think. it's not difficult at all, but it is very useful, for example, when you reinstall your computer - you dont need to think about what to install, except the ableton itself, in order to do whatever you want with sound. Now ableton doesnt have even simple audio editor, right dynamic processing, and a lot more, what else do you need to supplement ableton, but of course, its workflow the almost perfect - all that is missing is group freezing, in my opinion, and grouping of return channels, and perhaps the hide function to free up space in large projects. in any case Everything that I have named is likely to happen sooner or later, but ableton is in no hurry to add these really important functions, adding some kind of spectrum reaonators (wow) (no) to make buyers pay for a full update again, I think: D In other matters, this is logical)

I come from 15 years of using reason, we had 2 stock reverbs, this is only one out of multiple. It's overwhelming yet exciting, now i really feel forced to understand and learn more technical stuff.

I have impulse responses organized in a top level directory of my user library and as a bookmark in places so it's always easy to access.,
