You are right about the control with shock oil weight. I used 50w and it is better than a 25-35w. Great video !!!! 🙂

Im really impressed with this truck. Even with minimal upgrades, it's pretty amazing all the way down to the stock tires. I have injora green inserts with injora wheels and brass rings and its just about perfect. Redcat is on their way up with this one.

Only real complaint I have for now is there is a spot for a winch servo but with the 3 link there isn't room for the spool. I use that spot for my battery and will probably just use a bunjee winch (or whatever they are called).

I agree, especially when you factor in that it’s $400

I put stuffed some Injora green inserts in some Ruptures, I took then back out because there was no challenge to my lines at all. So I stuffed then greens in the stock tires and currently breaking them in. At the moment, I'm getting the challenge I'm looking for.

Yeah man, sometimes too much traction makes it less fun

The stock tires on this rig have taken down every line, in the valley here in Idaho Falls ID. My goto tires are the stock traxxas S1 Canyon Trail all terrain tires. Because they have also taken down every line. I believe that your tires make the truck!!! Take the stock tires and scrub them in on a rough concrete surface, then they get magical. Mine did anyways.

I love Csnyon trails too. I’m going to keep running the stock tires on another rig for now and see how they break in.

I’m not sure if it was you or another UA-cam found a bed off Etsy and shorter sliders. The bed added 4oz to the rear . The shorter sliders ended at the cab not going past. The video made it seem like the bed helped with descending. What’s interesting some of the locals are building custom rigs like this. There goal is climbing. Not much deciding.

Yup, that was my video. I tend to go down everything I climb so I like a bit more balance than a typical comp rig setup. Either way it’s fun to play around with weight placement to see how it changes the handling.
