  • Audi is gearing up to redefine the premium electric vehicle (EV) landscape with its upcoming Q6L e-tron, unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show 2024. This model is a significant extension of the Audi Q6 e-tron series and is built on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE), co-developed with Porsche. Designed specifically for the Chinese market, the Q6L e-tron features a longer wheelbase that enhances interior space and supports a larger battery, promising a range exceeding 700 kilometers on a single charge, according to the China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC).
The Q6L e-tron is not just about increased range; it also brings an array of top-tier technological advancements. It includes a 107 kWh battery, which is 7 kWh more than the standard Q6 e-tron models, paired with 800-volt technology that allows for rapid charging capabilities-up to 260 kilometers of range can be recharged in just ten minutes. This model showcases Audi's commitment to efficiency and performance, offering two configurations: a rear-wheel drive with 255 kW and an all-wheel-drive quattro version with 345 kW.
The design of the Q6L e-tron is a testament to Audi's luxury craftsmanship and attention to detail. It features a new front design tailored for the Chinese market, with exclusive colors like Lilac Grey, enhancing its appeal. The vehicle's proportions are balanced by a sweeping roofline and elongated wheelbase, contributing to its elegant silhouette and dynamic presence.
Audi has also incorporated cutting-edge lighting technology, including a new digital light signature in the front and rear, elevating both aesthetics and functionality. The second-generation digital OLED rear lights interact with the surroundings, enhancing safety through visible communication.
Scheduled for production in Audi’s new factory in Changchun, China, the Q6L e-tron is set to begin deliveries in 2025. This launch is part of Audi's broader strategy to expand its electric vehicle offerings, aiming to provide an EV option in every core segment by 2027. With the Q6L e-tron, Audi is not just advancing electric mobility but also tailoring it to meet specific market needs, confirming its leadership in the evolution towards sustainable luxury driving.
