Nice summary thanks Todd. HOWEVER: I haven't seen anyone discuss how swapping site URLs will affect the original term store. I have heard that it won't but I'm waiting to hear back from Microsoft on that. I don't trust 'fun' things like this any longer from MS. Ive been burned too many times by 'gotchas'. Cheers
Would custom SPFX webparts also translate well with this? We have a tenant site to move to the root, it has a custom header extension and a couple webparts.
Hi Todd... I am still confused when you replied to the one post that "Microsoft needs turn on the ability for you to swap the root site in your tenant" can you elaborate on this please?
hi todd, thank you for your video. one question - what was the problem that the PowerShell command did work twice? Thank you very much for your answer. Best regards, roberto

When I recorded the video this capability was not available in all tenants. I think it is available everywhere now.

The feature was not enabled in my tenant the first time I tried it, that's why it failed the first time.
@@ToddBaginski: Thank you for your Feedback. But which feature has to be enabled?
@@robertobirrer9976 Microsoft needs to turn on the ability for you to swap the root site in your tenant.
I can't see those links at all. I'm trying to make this work but...
Hi Todd, Is it possible to change the name of the root domain in the sharepoint URL ?
Not at this time.
