    Questions for you Reza, 1) Can one put the People Screen Template into a Container? 2) Can you create two separate SearchTextBoxes and galleries doing the same thing but populating 2 Collections inorder to populate 2 different list fields in SP and 3) What the best way to do a responsive form, using a Form Screen template or with in a Container?

    First off- - Great video, thank you! I have a question though: Why do I get errors when I try to set up a combo box with allow searching? If i disable allow searching the error goes away. The error isn't very helpful and seems tied to the 'DisplayFields' property of the combobox control. The error says "Unexpected characters. The Formula contains 'Eof' where 'ParenClose' is expected." Thanks

    Hey, Risa! Great video once again. I just noticed that you used the classic ComboBox here to search or show or current users. Are these not available in the modern controls? The new modern controls are really good now aesthetically but it feels that they are so limited compared to the classic ones.

    Pretty close to what I needed. I tried to set up a People Picker Combo box to choose from a Group created in sharepoint list as described in the video (and based on some search results on Google). However, I didn't like that users had to type the person's name, and then I ran into a problem where only the people that were listed in the sharepoint list got vaildated results from that people picker. It was a required field, so every other user not in that sharepoint list received an error that they couldn't submit a record entry because it thought that field was blank. Kept saying that field was required even if not blank. I may move to create an Office 365 Group if I can figure out how to do it without having Office 365 Admin privileges. The behavior of the combo box seems to be more inline with what I want. I'm just afraid that users outside of that Group may still have an issue submitting records with the Power App. Currently the only solution I can think of is to turn off the required button for that column, but that may cause issues further down the line. Anyway, just something I'm working through at the moment.

    Great video Reza. For option 3, how would I patch this combobox to a Sharepoint person field? Isn't the O365groups data structure different than the Person field? I am struggling to achieve this, I think the Claims is what is missing.

    • @RezaDorrani
      @RezaDorrani  Рік тому

      Structure would be different. If you want to make it easy, then option 4 (with form control) is easiest.
      If you want to choose option 3, then you would need to put it in a format that person column expects.
      Here is the blog I wrote about the structure of person column - rezadorrani.com/index.php/2020/05/04/power-apps-patch-function-with-sharepoint/

The issue I'm facing is that when I select a department from the combo box, it only returns 29 users of that department in the gallery. However, I know that there are 70 users in that department, and 700 internal users overall. I've set the "searchTerm" to 999, among other things. Do you have any idea what could be causing this?

Never mind. I put in a workaround in validation.. they can search for anyone in the list but if the selected user doesn't have the desired value selected in the multi choice lookup column, validation kicks in when you submit the form.. not great but it works 😅

    i am unable to solve one thing related to search User or Group, when i use edit form control and in there if i have any field that is set to "People or group" then onselect i am getting some number to choose from and not search option even when search is on. when i try to see what does it show when i insert the value manually in sharepoint list for perticular record then that shows as "INJECT0" instead of username in power app. how to deal with that. i feel only you can make it possible.

    Hi Reza, the Office 365 Users Connector and combo box option doesn't work when you use the new modern combo box. You can pick users when you don't enter any search term but if you add a search term, the filter works but you cannot select a user. It is as if the moment you select the user, the search term disappears, and the item is not there to pick. Have you tried this with the new combo box and can you reproduce the issue?
