- I'm very excited to bring you a hoya nursery video here in Jakarta, Indonesia! Hoyas have exploded with popularity as never seen before, and I am proud to say I caught the hoya bug very early on in my plant journey. In this nursery tour, I walk you through species that are cultivated and for sale here (as well as explore "not for sale" sections). Where possible I include species ID and prices so you know how much we pay for plants here in Indonesia. @moonhoya does ship internationally so please plant any questions directly to their instagram.

What a Hoya lovers dream in there! I have around 20 Hoyas , including the wayetti variegated that’s getting really big now. I’m glad I bought it about three years ago as Hoyas are getting so expensive . Thanks for sharing Sean!

6:30 Got it, that's it, Dischidia. Continuing my previous comment on your Hoyas propagation video. I mentioned about another plant that I bought with small leaves that seller named "Tanaman Hoya"
I can untangle all my Hoya at night , wake up in the morning and they are all wrapped around each other and anything else they can reach. Scary thought how busy they are at night!😬 My hubby says I should sleep with one eye open! 😜Got to love hoyas❤️✌🏻🌿🍃🌱
Omg thats a cool story! Haha should do a CCTV timelapse on them getting all up onto each other!

Hoyas are my favorite! Thank you for sharing your side of the world with us! I know you got super excited filming because you moved/ panned really fast thru each plant. Lol but I appreciate you nonetheless! Would love to see the rest of the 90% of the nursery 😜
Haha thank youuu. Ill slow down a bit next time! 🙈
Sean is serving us heavenly hoya happiness! Love this video. Oh muh heart!
❤️❤️❤️
Hi Sean! I am hooked, lined and sinkered with how you present each episode. I like the format. How the info is imparted, and the lightheartedness and joy in your voice. Keep it up! And thanks so much.
The shiny weeds stealing your attention, near hoya sulawesiana is chinese betel leaves, indonesian name it "suruhan" or "tumpang air", its delicious to be cooked
I love your videos. You’re a natural!
Thank you so much 🐸❤️
I love the warning intro aimed at hoya heads everywhere. :-) Loving your content!
Thank you. Massive hoya propagation video next weekend!
@@onlyplants Also looking forward to the hoya care tips covering some uncommon and un"hot" hoyas like panchoi and coronaria. And addressing humidity and overnight cold temps, etc. It can be 90 minutes long. I'm sure many will watch it to the end, we are used to your long videos by now. :-)
Beautiful video, so many Hoyas in one place
Thank you 🐸❤️
love love as always and I did checked the shop in IG right away :) helpful to know how they propagate it via husk and moss - will try tomorrow doing it as I usually do it in peat and perlite :) Thanks Sean as always for another lesson.
Thank youu. Im going to do a massive hoya propgation video soon!
Awesome collection of hoyas
Thank youu
Yes! You did it! 😁👍🏼 thanks for taking us with you on your journey!
🤓❤️
Thank you for sharing, amazing Hoyas video!
You’re welcome and thanks for coming along with me
Sean, you got me going on the hoyas now!!!! 😂
Awesome haha 😀😀
Cool nursery!! Lots of interesting plants.
Thank you :)
Wow wow wowee! I had to mentally transport myself to Jakarta! I have 50 hoyas, but if i could get my hands on an affordable large, thick leaf hoya with nice veining, i would be so happy... That was a great tour. Thank u for sharing!
Haha thank you so much, Im glad you came along
Nice...Sangat informatif om
Makasih 🙏🏽
I so enjoy seeing all these Hoyas!!! Awesome video! 🤩
Thank youu 🐸
Your videos are always just in time for my lunch at work. Time to relax. ❤️🌿
❤️
I just found out about you few days ago and now binge watching your videos 🤣 (I swear I'm not a creep).
I DID NOT know there's a hoya nursery near Jakarta waaahh 🤯
Thank you for this video!
Also, your house is massively beautiful, like something pops out of design magazine (yes, I just watched your dad's plants tour video 😅)
Whoaaa thank you 😀 do check out the two hoya nurseries I toured in. Theres actually many more growers here but hoyas have not gone mainstream yet (but it will)
@@onlyplants yass will check on that video later. Gotta catch'em all hoyas, before price tag sky rocketing 😅
Looooove the commentary subtitles!!! ❤️ Very witty. Keep this up 🌟
Thank you 😌🙏🏽
Your captions always make me giggle 💚🌿🌱🪴
😅💖
Love the Ungulata , Caudata Sumatra , my cutting is struggling but I do see tiny new growth so I’m hopeful. These are more advanced I believe for beginners like me , I recommend Hoya Pubucalyx that one grew like a weed and was first Hoya . If my Caudata dies I would try again it’s Amazing looking ! Tfs 💚🍃🌱
Nice!! I have the worst luck with pubicalyx and killed so many 😅 i have better luck with macrophylla and lacunosa they grow like weed here!
New subbie here! I'll definitely visit them next time I visit my family in Indonesia! Last time I went to Jakarta in 2018, I wasn't as into plants as I am now, and I regret not going to the nurseries there since the selections are soooo wonderful there. Can't wait to go back!
Yaye come back soon!
What a tour! So they water them every day!?!? Wow.. im surprised 😮
Haha yes and I water them daily too!
@@onlyplants I just got hooked on these 😉
I’ve purchased 4 plants from sellers and now I want to make sure they have the proper soil and I’m watering them correctly. 2 are cuttings and I’ve not put them in pots yet but they are very small. I’m guessing I should not put them in to big a pot. I thought they should dry out a bit before watering? So the cuttings I should keep moist for a couple weeks? I’m letting them acclimate before I pot them is that a good idea? I also understand they don’t like to be moved? So I’m in Ontario where we have hotter summer and vet cold winter., cam I have them outside south side of deck for summer months? Thank you and I’m learning a lot from your videos! 😊
The krohniana (Eskimo) is very closely related to the lacunosa, I love their scent!
I was wondering the resemblance… they might be related somehow 😅
in our country Philippines cutis porcelana actually means porcelain like skin
Hi Sean,
Just love your program on hoyas, but I do wish that they were a lot longer as they are so interesting 👍.
Oooo have you seen my 2 hour long hoya propagation video? Also another hoya nursery tour video is coming this friday
All my Hoyas are trembling in fear now😂😂😂😂 Tq Sean for sharing this! Love all the hoyas and dischidias you shared 😍👌🏼
Haha thank youu. Hoya tour and propagation video is coming soon
Omg .. what timing.. I was feeling overwhelmed and took a break and this video popped up. I feel better now. I love hoyas so much. So cool, cute and interesting! Thank you so much😊❤️
Thank you so much. Sending you virtual hugs and reminding you to breathe when overwhelmed! ❤️
onlyplants your so kind. Thank you ☺️
Really enjoy your vedio, very informative. Awesome. I love hoya but not ready to have one as i am scared to kill them. Thank you again.
Great video! Thanks for making me drool :)
Haha thank you for writing in. My shirt was wet when I was doing the tour because I was drooling so hard too.
Wow!!! Awesome tour!! Both my favourites...Hoya's and Dischidia's ❤
Nice to meet a fellow hoya/dischidia addict! 🤓
Another great video! Philodendron lover turned hoya curious and my first one was a carnosa compacta b/c I thought they were the only hoya worth admiring. But now I keep seeing other veriaties and forms that really are different looking.
That long callistophyll is really beautiful. I had to stop the vid and check the market here and it's waaaaaaaaay more expensive 😭.
Thanks for sharing that cool nursery with us! I feel like I have a new friend and I'm visiting Jakarta whenever I watch your vids! Keep Them Coming!!!
Hello thank you and welcome to the realm of hoyas. There are so many cool species and they are so diverse! Also the flowers are insane
I’m going to plan a vacation trip to Jakarta Indonesia because of your amazing videos
Whoaaa thank you. Do stop by! Going to nurseries here is like going to Disneyland.
I love hoys
Loved this video! Your videos are so informative and relaxing. I really enjoy your commentary! ❤️
Thank you so much 😊
Awesome video Sean❤️. Please do more videos of this nursery❤️❤️❤️
Thank youu ❤️ will be back!
Thank you for including that they include the phytosanitary certification :) If you find one with Aroid specialty that ships with the phytosanitary certification that would be great too!
From my last nursery tour, @hangarden16 does shop worldwide. @winn_florist does too.
Wow I love❤️all Hoya variety 🌿🌿
❤️🐸❤️
Terima kasih informasinya om..
Saya punya hoya machropyla
I like your hoya. I have hoya in bali
Holy wow!! What an amazing nursery!! 😍😍😍😍
🐸❤️
OMG I love those Hoyas 😍 I can't even choose a favorite they're all gorgeous plus my friends are from Indonesia and Everytime you mentioned a Hoya I think that's where they're from 💚🌿
Haha yes Hoyas are amazing. They are spread all over asia with so many diversity of species!
😯 🤩 😳 I want them all!
Thanks for the hoya tour! 🌱❤
Was wanting a hoya carnosa (krimson queen) but phal. bellina is currently at the top of my plants wish list! 😂🏵🌸💕
Thank youuu
@@onlyplants
Where about's is your
store? thank you in advance🥀
Its hard to said "fairest of them all" 😍💐. Every Hoya that I saw was really pretty and unique. Actually I have one the Crimson Queen Hoya. Hopefully she can change the leaves color into pink soon. Thank you for the plants tour 😁👍
Give it plenty of light to get that pink! They like dappled direct sunlight or very very bright indirect light
Hi, rewatching your videos 😉 did you ever identify the beautiful Hoya you used as the cover photo?
Undulata I believe 😀
So beautiful i Love Hoyas 😍 👍 🦋
this tour is amazing. thank you so much for sharing this beautiful place.
Thank you so much for coming along
That’s a crazy amount of Hoya. So impressive!
Thank youu 🤓
Thank you for the inforrmation.. i will go there
Have fun!
What kind of potting soil do they use at the nursery? Those hoyas look happy😍
Hello I did show you the media that they used in the video 🙃
@@onlyplants oo..okey..sorry, my bad🤭. Thanks Sean..
Thanks for the nice tour of a hoya nursery. So many hoyas have fabulous foliage that the blooms are just an added bonus. Many hoyas do well in a tropical lowland climate but a few prefer high altitude climate. Just curious, for your collection...do you prefer hoyas with beautiful flowers or hoyas with beautiful foliage?
Im definitely more into foliage than flowers!
Woooo Hoya heaven.
Ow My God!!
I'm in to Hoya's lately.....and this vid definitely make me Kereeeeezih!
It's a total torture to watch.....I need to go there....like asap....
I want that Retusa...and Java....and Aceh maybe....and Parastica.....aaaand I'll broke.
Thank's for the vid btw...I looove every single vid you release.
Stay safe and healthy!
Thank you so much. I recommend the retusa to start, they are quite affordable and fast growing. Easy to propagate.
Great tip on some of us who want to purchase non native Hoyas overseas.
Im so happy to hear they are popular everywhere. They deserve to be spread all over the world!
@@onlyplants I agree. From where I am, the Philippines, there are about more than a hundred species found here and some collectors like me want to purchase Hoyas native in other countries. Oh and by the way, the Dischidias here are like common houseplants, you can see them in every household.
this is HOYA HEAVEN!
😇
Beautiful, thanks
Hi Sean. Beautiful video as always ❤️. I am curious about the lady who collect these rare Hoyas and open this nursery. Why don't you have an interview with her just like the one you did with Sanggar Kemuning? I would really really love to hear her journey and experiences with Hoya. Thanks!
Hello, she was in an accident and wasn’t present when I was visiting unfortunately. But Im happy to report that she is fine and is recovering. She have such a beautiful soul. I’ll be back for sure!
greetings from Kalimantan
🙌🏻🙌🏻
The weed at 13:15 is Peperomia pellucida, has quite a peppery smell when crushed
Hello thanks for letting me know. Someone said they have medicinal properties!
Those thick leaves on the Hoya Imbricata are amazing. It looks as though you gave a kindergarten class some clay and said "make a leaf"...
Hahaha thats such an interesting way to put it!
OMG!!!!!
I love hoya~~
I want to have a Hoya with a unique-looking leaf.🌸🌸🌸🥰
Take your time to collect them, and if there are hoya groups in your country I recommend to join them as it is a way to attain or swap cuttings!
onlyplants
Yes, thank you.~~~~ There aren't many in our country. Even unique kids import and sell big products. I'd like to raise a small seedling. I'm going to cut my canosa and make a small seedling. I'm going to share. Come and see my Hoya.🌸🌸🥰
They are all so pretty!! I want to buy them all 😍
I love hoyas I have about 100.00 but his prices are high. You really should go to Bangkok when the work opens back up. I am from Canada and paying in US is very exspenive.
I love going to Bangkok. I would go 4-5 times a year 😌
Dischidia are in my wishlist but I’m afraid to kill them. Loved this video, thank you for taking me to Indonesia!
Try an easy one first? And move your way down the list 🙏🏽 I recommend the Ovata
🤩
Waiting for your hoya haul & collection 😉
Haha my hoya tour will be a very long video I feel 😅
Wow.. how good is Hoya Australis Lisa growing there. the leaves can be that wide. what is the medium?
Hoyas really thrive in coconut chips. Good nutrients and light levels (and of course time) can encourage bigger leaves 😀
Man, the Hoya Lisa...what’s up with her?! Too much water she dies in two days, too little all becomes crunchy! What do you want what do you waaannnttttt??!!!!
Amazing tour! Sooo jelly!
Yes shes a diva!!!
Wow, I realized there're so many kind of Hoya in Idns. And also realized your taste; something bumpy and knobbly, or reptile like or sunburn like(?)(was little scared)🤪😂 but I respect your taste ^^ I enjoyed a lot 👍👍👍
Haha thank you so much. They actually grow better in our homes with cleaner leaves 😅
Thankyou shawn. Nice tour. I really interested in getting a hoya linearis. You said that that hoya species is really hard to keep alive.. would you explain more about linearis?
Theres conflicting care information online... but from what I gather...
1) they need warm day temperature and cold night temperature
2) they like to stay more moist than other hoyas
3) they are very very mealy bug prone
They are just not that forgiving too... theres only a narrow window of conditions to keep it alive. Anything outside of this parameter and it will die back
Thank you so much for giving the plant name and its price, and its shop name. Hope they sell & ship to the Philippines.
Im pretty sure they do! Do write them 😊
I envy the selections of hoya. I have access to a very basic few locally. I had a bad esty experience. The local F.B. groups have the same group of people offering the same things and they are very "clicky". My next plant purchase will be eBay. Ebay has some policies in place if the item is never delivered. I have a rather long wish list, I hope ebay doesn't let me down.
Shevuan Sereday I hate etsy, prices are ridiculous in there
Ooo be patient I guess... the pandemic have caused shortage in plants. Try to propagate what you have and trade them later on when the world opens up again!
I could already start to hear your hoyas scream 😂😂😂
😅❤️
Its almost 2am here in the philippines. Im about to sleep until i saw your new vid🤩🤩
🙈🙈🙈
Hi Sean! I love all your video! Please do part 2 of Hoya
Hoya heaven. 😭❤️
Haha Ive instructed my family to scatter my ashes there if something ever happens to me... I want to be a part of these hoyas 😅
😍😍
