if you look at the new Blackhawks jersey in person (Saw it today at the draft) all the jerseys on the shoulders, the top area has some kind of soft bubble like fabric it looks really cool. It does make the jersey imo look cooler. although no other major changes except there being a crew neck. the NHL logo is also plastic like but very flexible pretty cool.
Nashville has to be last on my list... Its so ugly in my opinion. They better go back to the blue lids, if they keep the yellow ones its gunna be crazy.

The green in the Canucks jersey comes from when that striping and colour design were on our jerseys in the 70s. Our current jersey is basically the original Stick jersey, but with an orca, instead of a stick. Striping and colours are the same. Also, the blue and green matches our landscape of oceans and forestry. So it does serve a purpose.
Fun fact: the gold on the VGK jersey is an ode to the Vegas lights. The Red is for the iron in the rocks. And there is a "floral" type printing around the helmet in honor of the sage brush which is our state "flower"
The red in the VGK jersey is symbolic of Red Rock Canyon just NW of Vegas and of the red star in the famous "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign. The star also inspired the design of the VGK secondary logo.
The Canucks went back to the blue, green and white when transitioning to the RBK Edge jerseys because those are the team's original colours, a palette that fits with the city's Pacific Northwest aesthetic far better than the black, yellow and red..... meaning they're associated with nature and Vancouver has one of the most beautiful situations in the country, being right on the Pacific and surrounded by the Coastal Rainforest and Range. The colours don't contrast well, but yet work together regardless because they're so crisp and clean.
I love the Carolina jersey. I also am glad the classic jerseys like NYR stayed the same but I get where you are coming from. I would keep in mind that almost all jerseys look better when they are actually worn in game

The font of the Bruins jersey stayed the same but they got rid of the black outline between the white and gold on the numbers and name. It's basically the same home jersey with the letter and number color scheme as the old "blackout" alternate jersey. Also, the Red wings jersey is (basically) the same jersey as they wore during the Gordie Howe era.
I was going to mention that for Vancouver the colours of blue and green are the colours of the Pacific Northwest. That's why you see the Seattle Seahawks in the NFL use the same colours as well as the Seattle Mariners.
The Vegas Golden Knights have the red in the jersey for the Red Rocks we have here in the desert. Red Rock Canyon was the inspiration behind the color and it represents Vegas. The glitter in the gold on the sleeves and emblems also represents Vegas for the flash and glitz that is the Vegas strip.
The Hurricanes have their 20 year anniversary this year, and they are making the black sleeves and boxes on the bottom of the jersey a throwback to their first jersey.
coming from a hard-core hockey fan who lives in Vegas I absolutely hated our jersey at first but after attending the awards and the expansion draft and being able to see our jersey in person the gold really grows on you it is sparkley and has raised dimensions to it, it's unique and looks really good in person, but everyone here agrees the red stripe is atrocious and kills the look of the jersey
Also, it wouldn't be a Sabres jersey without those yellow stripes. However, everyone wanted them to go back to their old jerseys. You know the royal blue ones. I wanted that as well but the ones we have now are cool too.

Yes!!!! Finally someone who appreciates the MN Wild logo. Most people assume it is just a bear head but in reality it is just "Wild animal" and also if you look closely, it captured the MN wilderness like the rivers, lakes, 🌲 trees, and the pays homepage to the North Stars of yesteryears.

Not a lot of people would prefer the road jersey of their team, but I love the Caps road jersey. I love the red stripe that runs down each sleeve of the jersey and I especially love the red trim at the bottom of the jersey. The red lettering is a plus too.
Complete opposite from me. Take a much closer look at it. When you actually are physically looking at one and looking at the sleeve and logo closely, you’ll love how it looks. I’ve got one myself now, and it’s amazing!

Imagine how much better it could have been, though... Winnipeg goes back to their 90s (or heritage classic) sweaters. Anaheim either goes retro or makes their previous orange alternates their new home sweaters (or something in the middle - basically just get rid of the ugly ass D/duckfoot logo). Calgary gets rid of their hideous sweaters with awkward sideways striping and goes uses their BEAUTIFUL red/yellow alternates as their new home jerseys. NJ/Nashville don't do hallucinogenic drugs before submitting their final designs. SJ adds some damn striping to the bottom of their jersey.
Neil I completely agree with you on the Devils jersey. I would have preferred the green color but they did something unique no other team did with their heritage. I'll give you the list Green inside collar color- They have the three cup years on their to commemorate the green color and cups Black bottom stripe- for their first team the Newark Bulldogs who had that on their jersey Sleeves striping- for the Colorado Rockies striping Red collar- for the Kansas City Scouts who featured it on their jersey.
Totally agree, I wish the Blues would have changed to the Winter Classic jersey. That jersey is so popular in the city (Blues fan) and it'd be the only jersey in that nice light blue. But our current jerseys are a great jersey and one of the best in the league, so a bit of a missed opportunity.
The red strip on the knights jersey is to pay homage to the vegas wranglers. The compass on the shoulders is from the wranglers too just the knights added swords to it.

+Tighler Bellaire I think you fail to realize that everyone will have a different list for different reasons. There is no right or wrong here. Instead of complaining about my list why not film, edit, and upload your own list and help the hockey community grow on UA-cam! :)
Just as you have a right to your opinion, I have a right to mine. You think your list is great (I would assume) and I think it's awful - I don't need to film a video to make that statement. To each his own. At least we can agree that the Wild jersey is a thing of beauty. Lol
+Tighler Bellaire oh I know my list isn't very good. It was extremely difficult to rank these and I changed I many times. I like all the jerseys and would gladly wear them, but for the sake of entertainment if I just sat there and said positive things about each I think it would be less entertaining and probably boring lol

Winnipeg goes back to their 90s (or heritage classic) sweaters. Anaheim either goes retro or makes their previous orange alternates their new home sweaters (or something in the middle - basically just get rid of the ugly ass D/duckfoot logo). Calgary gets rid of their hideous sweaters with awkward sideways striping and goes uses their BEAUTIFUL red/yellow alternates as their new home jerseys. NJ/Nashville don't do hallucinogenic drugs before submitting their final designs. SJ adds some damn striping to the bottom of their jersey.

Hawks jersey has been the same since Hull and Mikita. I'm an oilers and flyers fan but that jersey is perfection and should never be changed.
I'm glad my Habs haven't screwed up the uniforms. Minnesota's New Jersey makes a lot more sense and matches with the white one better now.
Neil I completely agree with you on the Devils jersey. I would have preferred the
green color but they did something unique no other team did with their heritage. I'll give you the list
Green inside collar color- They have the three cup years on their to commemorate the green color and cups
Black bottom stripe- for their first team the Newark Bulldogs who had that on their jersey
Sleeves striping- for the Colorado Rockies striping
Red collar- for the Kansas City Scouts who featured it on their jersey.

I'm a huge fan of the new Canes uniforms, step up from the boring two stripes, and the warning flags between white is a great touch.
Totally agree, I wish the Blues would have changed to the Winter Classic jersey. That jersey is so popular in the city (Blues fan) and it'd be the only jersey in that nice light blue. But our current jerseys are a great jersey and one of the best in the league, so a bit of a missed opportunity.

The red strip on the knights jersey is to pay homage to the vegas wranglers. The compass on the shoulders is from the wranglers too just the knights added swords to it.
I believe the green on the Vancouver jersey represents the colors of the Cascadia region which is green, blue and white.
