Alinghi boat is looking fast and stable, looks like a real contender
Its basically ETNZ last cup winning boat with a new paint job and
some extras added on.
It’s much more than a copy of the tnz boat, the stern area alone shows that
@@Mickeysternum245 Ok ...there are some changes but i bet you its more the same than not.
They will all get dialled in and it will come down to how they sail and tactical decisions on the water on race day. They are all looking pretty awesome.
Boat looking real good.
Good luck Good waves Good furtune.
New Zealand.
I'm guessing that Luca is Sir John KIrwan's son? Certainly sounds like him.
Luna Rossa is looking seriously dialled in - I suspect they're going to be in the mix at the back end of this competition. Ineos stability seems to be improving but obviously some way still to go - especially when tacking. But given that they're still working up the systems it's surely too early to be getting concerned?
Seems the bottom vertical end fin on the back ( dont know what it called- so I call it bottom shark fin) to protude and near water surface, every time they tack hit that fin then touch down. I Liked LR and AM design streamline back bottom fin (or non vertical bottom skeg or shark-fin) to minimize touchdown. I do think that bottom shark fin help stability on straight, but when tacking they loose so much lift force when it touch water
Luka Kirwan . .John's son? . .sure looks like him
It is.
And sounds like him.
The boat that has impressed me the most so far is Luna Rossa, absolutely outstanding. I don't know if it's my impression, but Alinghi's boat seems a little unbalanced at the bow, it seems suffering from pitching. And I don't really like the design either.
As a Swiss, I support Alinghi. It is not the most beautiful boat indeed but I like that they try something new.
Luna Rossa pushed the Kiwis hard last time and arguably outsailed them, this time though many of the crew members, skippers and tacticians will come battle hardened from Sail GP, we should see some superb matchups, its going to be epic.
@ Its basically ETNZ last cup winning boat.with a new paint job
and a few added extras so should be pretty good.
@@number1genoaand lost to ETNZ
@VECTOR_HUNTER True ! The ETNZ boat was faster and Peter Burling commented that it took them a while to figure out how to pass Prada but then they were on a roll. The Italians did well at the starts and even when we won they had that killer "High Mode" which bounced us off even though we had the windward advantage. I think all teams will be wised up to that this time. Dalton commented to the media recently that ETNZ will have to sail better to defend it this time but now they are battle hardened from sail gp so that should make quite a difference.
Luna Rossa the best
I hope, but it is too early to predict 😊
Time will answer and reveal such facts.
